Chapter 752: Chapter 398 Sacred Crown_1
Upon being released by Ivita’s Light Soul, the Dictionary Elf floated in mid-air, carefully observing Ivita, then said, "You’re talking about the Sun God Sect? You mean the people outside the library who are causing chaos whilst carrying the same pattern as the goddess statue on the library’s wall?"
Ivita nodded her head. "It seems they have found a way to free themselves from the shackles of the Iron Crown by sacrificing themselves in this library."
"But I don’t know what connection these people have with this library."
The Dictionary Elf said, "The Iron Crown has no direct relation to the library, but the second floor of the library does hold many books concerning the Iron Crown. That’s the most prominent connection."
"However, I am familiar with the people you believe to be part of the Sun God Sect. Throughout history, they are known for destroying the Grand Library."
"I recall them breaking into the Grand Library, setting it on fire, and ultimately destroying it. Their origins also have a significant connection with the Grand Library."
The Dictionary Elf continued, "Roughly a millennium ago, a seal on the Grand Library faltered, allowing a ragged old beggar woman to enter it without completing the rites of inheritance."
"As the spirit of the first level of books, it was my duty to kill her."
Ivita raised an eyebrow.
Could this be the purpose for which the Iron Crown had brought her here?
The Dictionary Elf continued, "Yet, the woman displayed no fear of death. Her impassive expression intrigued me. I began to wonder about her life and experiences and asked her about her daily existence."
"The woman told me that in her hometown, one needs to pay the lord for the rights to marry or bury their dead. She was so destitute that she could not afford a grave for her overworked and diseased husband. Despite being buried in the ground for three months, his body showed no signs of decay."
"The priest declared that an un-decayed corpse would bring about great catastrophe in her state."
"Over time, her husband’s corpse began to change — the nails turned long and sharp, whilst the skin turned black and hard."
"One day, she returned home to find her zombified husband had killed all the livestock, including their child, and was pursuing her until she accidentally ran into the Grand Library."
Ivita arched an eyebrow. "What does this have to do with the Sun God Sect?"
The Dictionary Elf replied somewhat ashamedly, "I pitied her upon hearing her story, and instead of killing her, I did something foolish - I encouraged her to carry on with life."
"I pointed at the statue of the goddess and spun an inspiring tale for her, suggesting the endless mysteries of the sun offered hope and freedom from her troubled existence. This wasn’t enough, so I taught her how to read magical text, enabling her to learn magic from the vast magical books within the library."
The look in Ivita’s eyes as she faced the Dictionary Elf altered. "So, you were her teacher and conspired with her against me."
The Dictionary Elf quickly clutched its body, the dictionary, and flew away from Ivita while refuting, "No, no, we had a falling out. After she remarried and gave birth to a daughter who could similarly bypass the millennial seal and enter the Grand Library, I recognized we had a problem."
"I realized that the loophole in the millennium seal was related to blood lineage. Her blood, and that of her daughter, likely descend from the witch summoned by the conqueror Shaw a millennium ago to create the seal in the Grand Library."
After some contemplation, Ivita said, "If the witch coveted the books within the Grand Library, she might have left a loophole while creating the seal, for instance, allowing herself to enter the library."
"That said, she might have also made arrangements for those of her bloodline to access the library and kept her distance from it for several decades, or even a century, to avoid attracting Shaw’s attention. Therefore, she likely set a time limit, allowing her lineage to enter the Grand Library after a century," she added.
Excitedly, the Dictionary Elf said to Ivita, "The wisdom of the successor of the ancient Grand Library is truly remarkable. My hypotheses align with yours."
"However, there’s one thing you may not know."
"After the completion of the Grand Libraries, the conqueror Shaw had everyone involved buried alive. He then killed all the witches involved by sunlight and iron sword. Thus, the witch involved in creating the millennium seal was killed by Shaw before she could execute her ridiculous plan."
The Dictionary Elf continued to Ivita, "Upon realizing this, I immediately forced the woman to kill her own daughter and promise me that she wouldn’t bear any more children. I even forced her to drink the Sterilization Magic Potion she’d made. However, I overlooked the fact that she was no longer a refugee, but a witch."
