Chapter 706: Chapter 376: Sea God’s Revenge on Humanity_2

"To resurrect the ocean, two conditions must be met. First, the seal on my skull needs to be broken. Secondly, all my divine incarnations must come together as one."

"But to achieve this aim, we must make use of mortals, an idea we find extremely distasteful."

Her voice rings through the entire arena, but everyone who hears it feels dizzy and suffers headaches, as if a worm is wriggling within their brains.

In the stands, Ivita instantly realises that something’s amiss.

A fusion of incarnations?

He looks towards the massive water figure created by the Tide Witch and, sure enough, he sees the Sea God Water Giant disregarding the continuous attack from Earl Hilker and his two superior knights. Instead, he bends down, stretches out his hand, and grabs a full-fledged witch by Earl Hilker’s side.

The fully-fledged witch screams as she is sucked into the Water Giant’s palm.

Ivita gets it. ’The Sea God’s primary goal isn’t to kill; it is to reclaim her divine incarnations that have been scattered around. These incarnations vary in power and are disguised as witches. But many of these divine incarnations may have already lost their memories of being parts of the Sea God.’

To Ivita’s surprise, in the crowd, he sees the Moonlight Great Witch with her face hidden under a black hood. She is hiding among the people, turning hurriedly to escape the crowd and move towards the far end of the town.

But Ivita knows that it’s a futile effort.

Because, the moment the Sea Goddess appears, the sky turns cloudy and it starts pouring. The rain and clouds possess formidable divine powers, confining everyone within the small town.

Ivita thinks, ’What is she doing here? The Moonlight Great Witch probably hasn’t given up on the so-called opportunity of rapid advancement to a high-level witch through the lotus. So, she has come to try her luck. Wait... if we assume the Moonlight Great Witch is also a divine incarnation of the Sea Goddess...’

’That explains why the Sea Goddess gave her a map to her reawakening location and why she suddenly changed attitude and didn’t kill her.’

As the massive Water Giant keeps detecting the Sea Goddess’ divine incarnations from the past amidst the crowd, the Sea Goddess grows increasingly stronger and closer to resurrection. With one hand, she fights off the troops of Earl Hilker and Earl Rozlof.

Earl Rozlof’s four-module pirate handgun was swept away by a sudden water tornado falling from the sky.

Earl Rozlof himself summons a nightmare bird to attack the Water Giant. But this attack barely scratches the Sea God Giant. It catches the nightmare bird by the wing, flings it into the ocean, and divides the bird’s body into several vortexes.

The horrifying energy of the nightmare bird pollutes a large area of the sea after its death.

Earl Rozlof keeps summoning monsters from the nightmare legion to attack the Sea Goddess, but it’s all in vain. His troops are also constantly pushed back by the tides summoned by the Sea Goddess.

Earl Rozlof grits his teeth. "Damn you. You persuaded me to seize the Upper City. Now, you betray me with lies, all lies."

"Daring to deceive a high-ranking wizard."

"I will not let you die peacefully."

A nightmare snake appears behind him. The snake is entirely engulfed by the flames of nightmares. As soon as it appears, the nearby commoners faint and fall into a terrifying and endless nightmare world.

Hearthstone Witch cries out in alarm by Ivita’s ear. "Your Highness, that nightmare snake is a deep-level product of the nightmare world. It’s a famous nightmare creature known as the Akaloyd. It’s reputed to be the most terrifying thing in human dreams. Its snake eyes can peer into anyone’s deepest fears. I hadn’t expected the wizard pirate captain’s integration with the nightmare world to be so profound."

"Your Highness, what should we do now?"

Ivita doesn’t respond; instead he continues to observe the battle between the two Earls, their armies, and the Sea God.

Just as Earl Rozlof summons the nightmare snake, it fixates its gaze on the eyes of the Sea Goddess. The snake starts to speak in a human voice. "Let me see what you fear most. You fear..."

The snake’s pupils dilate swiftly and it keeps backing away. "You fear..."

"You fear..."

"Earl Rozlof, hurry, flee. Leave this place, I see destruction, a massive tsunami that kills all mortals. This goddess, she harbors an extreme hate for humankind..."

Then in the next moment, the neck of the snake was seized by the Water Giant formed by the Sea Goddess. The giant snake was petrified and turned its eyes to the Sea Goddess.

It couldn’t tell if what it saw was indeed the Sea Goddess’ most dreaded thing.

The Sea Spirit Witch hovered in mid-air, her eyes gleaming with the divine glory unique to the True God. "Once upon a time, I offered abundant shelter to mankind. I am the True God, and human faith is nothing but poison to me, full of the Power of Blind Stupidity. Nevertheless, I would respond to their prayers. Then came the followers of the God of All Things, followers of the creator, compelling my own followers to retreat."

"Then later..."

"Marco Anson set foot on this land. He deceived me, made me fall in love with someone I shouldn’t have. True love may be the most beautiful thing to mortals, but to gods, love for a person is synonymous with renouncing our divinity and lowering our own stature. Marco Anson took advantage of my weakness due to my love for him, and so did those Witch Queens, I gave them a horrible death."

"Marco Anson plotted to conquer the ocean by conquering me. He never considered living in harmony with the ocean."

"For all the harm done by mortals, even the ocean feels anger."

The Sea Spirit Witch coldly glanced over all human beings present. "For centuries, you’ve dumped all kinds of garbage on me without a word of complaint, and purified water sources for you in silence. Yet all I received were utter betrayal and dishonest words. I am aware that not all of you humans here are bad."

"But now I am the bad one. So, please die together."

"The moment I fully resurrect, will be the moment when the whole of Cross Island submerges!"

All the pirates present went silent.

Earl Rozlof and Earl Hilker shouted to the surrounding pirates and sixteen earls. "Did you hear that? This is a crisis for all of us. Why aren’t you sending your troops for support?"

"Once our troops go down, you will all die. Everyone, send your troops up quickly."

But, in reality, Earl Rozlof and Earl Hilker only sent a few high-ranking professionals to resist the Sea Goddess, while their own troops were retreating.

These two men clearly were trying to preserve their strength.

The Sea Goddess, hovering mid-air, exhibiting a mixture of divinity and magic in the fierce rain, suddenly closed her eyes and oddly talked to herself as if she were having a conversation with someone. "I know...I should thank you this time indeed. I haven’t forgotten the friendship you offered. I will be the best friend with Scholar City."

"I’ve said that I would support your ideals."

"But can you wait for a while? I haven’t fully resurrected yet!"

At a glance from the viewing stands, Ivita looked at the Sea Spirit Witch, the avatar of the Sea Goddess. "With whom is she speaking? Could there be hidden details in this matter?"

The Hearthstone Witch and Wilson looked at Ivita, "Your Majesty, what should we do now?"

Ivita tapped the arm of his chair, "Stay put for now. I do not wish to send my troops to die for others, especially when Earl Hilker merely intends to find a scapegoat."

"The situation remains uncertain. Blue Illusion Witch, you create illusions first to protect me and my troops. Hearthstone Witch, have Knight Goken and Knight Robinson stand by at the spot and form battlements with the troops. Have the high-ranking Rangers stay vigilant and watch all around."

Wilson told Ivita, "But, my lord, even if we don’t attack the Sea Goddess, we should think of a way to get away."

Ivita was about to speak when a man in a white robe ran towards him from afar, went up to the high platform, stood in front of Ivita and whispered, "Please wait a moment, Lord Ivita, have your troops stand by. I am from The Church. The resurrection of the Sea Goddess was within our expectations."

"We did not deal with her beforehand to provide you with an opportunity to get rid of some people who should not exist."

"The Pope instructs me to tell you — ’The faithful servant shall receive God’s help.’ Also, the people on the field of this knight tournament are not as they appear to be. You will see, the best is yet to come."
