Chapter 628: Chapter 346 The Sword That Absorbs Enemy’s Power! Sword of Power!_2

The troublesome Blood Magic was, surprisingly, easily purified into the ancient natural power of the Spirit of the Wilderness.

The figure of Centaur Jack increased at least sixfold, running like a small mountain, simultaneously roaring and firing his gun at the boulder where Ivita and the Hearthstone Witch hid. Within mere seconds, the boulder was already covered in cracks, on the verge of falling apart completely.

Centaur Jack let out a threatening neigh. "Intruders, you are not match for me. There’s one way out for you now, and that is to surrender to me, Captain Jack."

He was surrounded by the carrion rotting humans, who were being sacrificed while emitting cries of woe, curses, and overflowing negative emotions.

"Damn you, Captain Jack, you son of a bitch. You actually dared to sacrifice your own sailor grandsires..."

"He wants to sacrifice us, he has always despised us. On this mountain, what good are we to him."

"It’s him who doesn’t even have a single ship left. No... my limbs... Yet this may also be our chance to be rid of our bodies, for our souls to escape this godforsaken place..."

Some of the carrion monsters, having realized this, even willingly went to their deaths.

Seeing this scene, Captain Centaur Jack sneered, pleased with how things were turning out.

From a distance, Captain Jack yelled, "Intruders, as I sacrifice my men, my power grows. In this state, none of you are my match, let alone now. I just need to hoist my horse’s hoof and you will all die."

"And your attacks..."

He slightly tilted his body, listening indifferently as a stone tablet flew by him, landing behind him.

Unable to help himself, Captain Jack laughed, continuing to taunt in the direction of the Hearthstone Witch, "I can’t be bothered to dodge such things. For a witch to strike me with stones, how disgraceful, a symbol of the weak, not to mention, you could not even hit me."

"Ha ha ha ha ha..."

The next moment, he could not laugh anymore because a sword had pierced through his chest, passing through his heart.

When Centaur Jack looked down, he was horrified to find the sword that pierced his chest was the Sword of Power, the Hero’s sword chosen by the Spring of Power - one of the six Divine Springs.

The ritualistic power that had been lingering in his body for sixty years, much like a popped balloon, began to rapidly dissipate; this included his own power, as well as the Blood Magic power he had obtained from others.

With a dead gaze fixed on Ivita, Captain Jack, with his residual strength, raised his fire gun pointing at Ivita’s forehead, his expression shocked and disbelieving.

"How did you get behind me?"

"You were running away just now, dodging my attack, how come you appeared behind me in an instant and pierced my heart..."

Ivita didn’t respond to his words but just stared at him silently.

This centaur pirate captain may have been a minor character, but he did make her exert some effort.

If not for using a devious sneak attack on him, even if victory was assured in a direct battle, she would have suffered significant injuries.

It suddenly dawned on Captain Centaur Jack, his mind flashed back to the previously ’missed’ stone tablet. Ivita might have used some magic to appear behind him in the blink of an eye and kill him with the Sword of Power, and that opportunity was the only shot.

That was indeed the case.

Ivita had the Hearthstone Witch excavate a rectangular rock slab and drew a magic ceremony of the Domination Sect on it, and then asked the Hearthstone Witch to throw it intentionally off-target. This led the centaur pirate to believe that it was just a stone thrown by the Hearthstone Witch for probing.

Captain Jack didn’t expect that a deadly crisis was lurking on that small piece of rock.

Originally, Captain Jack wanted to pull the trigger and shoot Ivita, but by the time he thought about doing so, the Sword of Power had absorbed almost all of his energy.

Using the four-tier pirate components also required thresholds.

People without power who forcibly use the components will instead be backlashed, and at least, they will be unable to use them.

If Captain Jack was currently holding an ordinary Knight Sword or dagger, he would be able to continue attacking Ivita, to retaliate. But instead, he was holding a high-level component.

So, every advantage has a disadvantage.

A giant transparent elk was emerging from the wound on Captain Jack’s chest. Upon its appearance, the surrounding mountains and fields brightened a little, the air freshened, and even in broad daylight, a flock of fireflies was attracted by this transparent spirit.

The transparent spirit was forcefully sucked into the Sword of Power.

The transparent deer struggled fiercely, kicking and butting the Sword of Power with its hooves and antlers, but it was useless.

In the end, the transparent deer disappeared into the sword. Concurrently, the power gained by the carrion monsters on Dragonbone Mountain, which Captain Jack had sacrificed, along with the ritual power that had been dispersed within him sixty years earlier, were all absorbed into the Sword of Power.

Ivita instantly felt the Sword of Power becomes four times heavier.

It had transformed directly from a one-handed sword into a sword that she could barely swing with both hands.

Ivita knew that this was because the Sword of Power had absorbed too much energy, becoming so powerful that even its weight had increased.

Stretching out his hand, Captain Jack seemed to be demanding a debt from Ivita. "Return the Spirit of the Wild to me..."

"It’s not my possession. It belongs to the tribe. Give it back to me..."

As if he foresaw his death, Captain Jack glared at Ivita. "Intruder, you are a collaborator of the beast. You don’t know who you’re helping."

"Do you think the Frog Princess is a good person?"

"Let me tell you, the most malevolent person in the world is the Frog Princess. Nobody, who makes friends with her, survives. Even though she’s tough, her friends might not be. I’ll be waiting for you in hell, kid..."

Ivita replies with a step back as this half-human, half-horse figure crashed onto the ground, completely out of breath. At the same time, the body of this centaur was decomposing rapidly.

This was likely due to the special geographical conditions of the disappeared territory.

Ivita shook her head at the corpse of Captain Jack. "Hell?"

"You’re overthinking."

Ivita walked over, wanting to pick up the two components that had fallen on the ground. As soon as she approached, the Sword of Power in her hand suddenly trembled.

"Sword of Power?"

"Are you telling me to cut these two components?"

"Fine, I’ll try."

Ivita lifted the Sword of Power and swung it at one of the components. The barrel cracked open, and a powerful black vortex shot into the sky, like a black tornado.

The force pushed Ivita back.

Then, the force dropped from the sky and was completely caught by the Sword of Power.

After continuously absorbing so much incredible power, the Sword of Power began to glow with a faint golden light along its blade, displaying a constant special effect.

Ivita kept up the momentum, slashing at another component. The power contained within this component was also absorbed by the Sword of Power.

With this, the Sword of Power sublimated, its blade gleaming with a golden hue while the interior shone with a delicate silvery glow.

Walking over, the Hearthstone Witch said to Ivita: "This sword seems to have the ability to absorb the power of those it slays."

She stroked her chin thoughtfully, "Your Majesty, you are brilliant. That fool never suspected your scheme..."

"Brilliant?" Ivita shook her head, "I had another motive. I wanted to test the bonus my hero status gives to my power and, most importantly, my luck bonus. The centaur could have simply shot the stone slab, cracking our plan."

"But he chose to dodge, instead of taking the shot."

As Ivita stroked his chin, he said: "I suspect there was a strong element of luck involved. By the way, later I want to go back to the Black Sea to loot the floating treasure chests to see if my luck has turned."

"Hearthstone Witch, I saw it with the Eye of the Demon, there’s a third Divine Spring on top of Dragonbone Mountain."

"Come with me, we might gain new power there. At least we can restore your sight."

The Witch’s eyes lit up at the thought of restoring her vision. Although losing her vision hasn’t rendered her useless, her strength had indeed taken a significant hit.

Now there was a chance to restore her vision!
