Chapter 470: Chapter 283 Knocking on the Gate! Border City! The Great Wall of the Pirate World!!_1
After a brief cleaning up, Ivita and their crew discovered that more than half of the pirates on their ship were either killed in battle, or died by jumping into the sea in a desperate attempt to escape.
Fortunately, the Nagas Clan joined them, supplementing the shortage of manpower to handle the sails and ropes. Otherwise, they would have been severely understaffed.
After leaving the Floating Sea, they hoisted a black flag they had looted from the pirates in order to gain entry into the Transfer Port.
Not long after they departed the Floating Sea, they could see from a distance a prodigious, Great Wall-like harbor. This wall, almost splitting the Transit Sea in two, was a breathtaking sight.
It was a Sea Wall indeed.
Tens of thousands of ships of various sizes navigated within and outside this wall, each heading to different areas.
The Transit Sea had many whirlpools, some only a dozen meters in size, while others stretched for up to a thousand meters. It could be said that these were super whirlpools.
Ivita imagined what would happen if a ship got caught by such a colossal whirlpool—it would be a scene of utter despair.
The sailors on board would probably have to watch helplessly as their ship and themselves were slowly sucked into the vortex.
Ivita stood on the bow of the ship, the fresh sea breeze hitting his face, looking at the floating wall on the sea, he felt it was an incredible feat of engineering that was almost impossible to triumph over by individual prowess.
The Hearthstone Witch approached Ivita and activated her Spirit Vision. She said to Ivita, "Your Highness, please use your Spirit Vision to look at that wall."
Ivita looked at her with a puzzled expression, then turned to look at the port. He discovered that an aurora-like terrifying spiritual force enveloped the wall—it was alive and spiritual!
In Ivita’s eyes, the Transfer Port—A wall separated the inside from the outside, not just in this physical world, but the same was true on a spiritual level.
Captain Sam looked at the wall with a strange expression. "Every time I see it, I can’t help but marvel at the greatness of Marco Anson. He used just a few short decades, which is no different from ordinary people, to turn the pirate world into such a wonderful place. That’s the Border City—Transfer Port, created by Marco Anson to protect the Pirate World."
"Boss, there’s a story," he continued, "In the taverns of the Republic of Belisarius, a story circulates. It is said that Mark Anson prophesied before his death that his demise would cause the hard-established Pirate Republic to degenerate into a mere pirate world."
"The pirates would splinter, leaderless and fighting among themselves. Everything he worked for would be overthrown by foreign forces," he recounted.
"Therefore, before his death, he exhausted all his accumulated relationships to invite numerous fairies, elves, and fallen fairies to brainstorm a solution. Even the King of Elf, the Lamp God, was invited."
"They finally came up with a solution. To consider for future pirates, create a wall, a wall that can stop enemies."
"The wall you see before you."
"It is said that this wall can block unwelcome guests from the Pirate World, block laws rejected by the Pirate World, it is an important part of the Seven Seas Law Code. The Aristocratic Commercial Republic, once one of The Three Republics, tried to send a fleet to invade the Pirate World and eradicate the pirates. But because of this wall, they returned in failure."
"The fleet of Selzhu - Rome Empire fell before this wall, and Padsa, the monarch of that generation of the Rome Empire, personally admonished his descendants not to attempt to invade the Pirate World without an invincible fleet."
"He named the act of attacking the Transfer Port—’Knock the door.’
"Because Transfer Port directly leads to Upper City and Central Harbour, so you ’Station Up’ and ’Rush Center’ after Knock the door."
"On the other hand, the militaristic neighbor of Selzhu—the Rome Empire, the Mamuruk Kingdom, also organized their navy to invade the Pirate World and grab some territory. The undisciplined pirates had no resistance, they were badly defeated in the naval battle against Mamuruk Kingdom, but in the end, they still had to give up their plans to annihilate the Pirate World because of this wall."
"Across the sea, the navy of the Barbary States often brawled with the pirates of Pirate World, competing for the same ecological niche. But they don’t have this wall, so they are always at a disadvantage, and their situation is getting worse."
Looking at the Transfer Port, Captain Sam sighed, "The way the scattered Pirate World seems like a kingdom is in large part due to the existence of Central Harbour and Transfer Port."
"It can be said that Marco Anson, with his genius, propped up the golden age of the Pirate Republic for several decades. During his lifetime, the coastal countries of the Mediterranean Sea could only ask their citizens to move away from the coastal settlements. But for the pirates, they often navigated along the tributaries of rivers into the land, robbing nations."
Ivita nodded. Unfortunately, Marco Anson was unable to prevent the fragmentation of the Pirate World after his death.
"What a pity."
The entire crew fell into silence.
The ship continued sailing towards the Transfer Port. Around two thousand kilometers into their journey, suddenly, five ships emerged from the distance. They had not a Black Background Skull Flag, but a Black Background Codex Flag instead.
