Chapter 414: Chapter 254: The Grafted Law! The mixed things on the boat!_1

Before long, Vampire Wilson walked out of Beard’s pirate ship carrying a man who surprisingly had the skill of a knight, throwing him on the deck.

Vampire Wilson pulled out a ship log, tore off two pages from it, and called out to Ivita from afar, "I couldn’t find a single pound on this ship, but I did find this log. This man was just about to destroy it in the cabin. Let me read it to you."

Beard and his crew looked anxiously at the ship log in his hand.

Ivita said, "Read."

Wilson said, "These are the two most important pages of the ship’s log. It says that Knight Gastrot has run off with almost all of their valuable belongings on the ship."

Ivita had anticipated this scenario so he was not surprised, instead he nodded.

Wilson continued, "But we don’t know who brought the plague to this ship, whether it was that knight and the child he brought, or something we took off the island when we left Volcano Island."

Ivita narrowed his eyes, looking at the pirate crew who, full of guilt, lower their heads.

The Hearthstone Witch was shocked and even angry, "So you’ve been to this so-called ’Volcano Island’ already."

"You even lied to us, saying you haven’t found it."

Beard didn’t say anything, filled with guilt.

Ivita said to Wilson, "Keep reading."

Wilson glanced at Beard and his crew, and continued, "This is their ship log before they met Knight Gastrot—according to our treasure map, we’ve reached the destination, but there is no island, only a vast, empty sea."

"But I quickly discovered the trick, the maritime map was wrong. The location of the island is at least 10 kilometers east of what the map indicates."

"We don’t know if the treasure map marked the wrong spot, or if the island has shifted in location during this time."

"But we do know that we have finally found this island, which was sunk by the evil spirit in the middle period of the ancient civilization, where we may be able to glimpse how Lord of the Seven Seas, Marco Anson, constructed the Seven Seas Law Code. The Cross Sea was known for its calm waves and crystal-clear waters a hundred years ago, but after Marco Anson established the pirate world, the Cross Sea turned into the Black Sea, and many inexplicably new islands and uncharted waters appeared."

"In the afternoon, we saw the legendary evil island, but it looked like an ordinary island shaped like a horseshoe. There’s a mountain range covered with thick woods in the center of the island, and many natural harbors perfect for building ports along the coastline."

"I, Beard, was very happy. Even if the legendary island that was sunk by the evil spirit is just an ordinary island, it can serve as our natural base. Ah, the first mate on the ship, I’ve been displeased with him for a while, maybe I can exile him before we return."

"We came to the island... "

Wilson paused, "At first we thought it was uninhabited, but in the evening, we found that many wooden idols made by human hands in the forest by the coast."

"Only then did we realize that people actually live here! This disappeared island for so long, there are people living here!"

"We found a primitive tribe in the woods. The tribe was worshipping a humanoid wood called ’Black Granny’, a human height black timber. The timber surface has mushrooms growing on it."

"The timber top part kind of looks like an old woman’s face, but it’s probably a coincidence."

"It seems that this tribe, who has always stayed on this isolated island, is overly superstitious. But through the observation from the best thief among us, we found that there are many gemstones like cat’s eyes in this tribe. They really are wasting these resources."

"We took advantage of their ritual to steal those gems that look like cat’s eyes from their tribe."

"We returned to the ship, to first carry these gems back to the black market on Cross Island to see if they can fetch a good price. But soon... we found a terrifying problem. There’s a man we don’t recognize on our ship."

"We don’t know when he appeared, but he did exist, we don’t even know if he really does, because no one could catch him."

"At first, we noticed that the deck kept having dark footprints. When we asked who stepped on it, no one answered."

"Then, some of our crew members said that they always saw a person whose back was turned to them folding blankets on the bed in the cabin, but when they approached, that person would disappear without a trace."

"After that, when we were celebrating a holiday on the ship, we suddenly found out that there was an extra man among our crew. Perhaps someone sneaked onto our ship when we docked at Volcano Island, but why didn’t we notice him?"

"Is he really just a man?"

"But let’s put these problems aside for now, because we encountered a large merchant ship. We should rob that merchant ship first, then consider this problem."
