Chapter 364: Chapter 226: Treasures of the Ancient World, Goodbye Bronze Mask! (6513)_2
"I’ve seen it in some places," Wilson said. "I once came across a peculiar mural technique in a remote village of a place called the ’Epirus Republic’ on the southern peninsula. It’s said to have been passed down from the ancient civilization period. The local villagers would use a photosensitive paint for their murals; the concealed content of the mural would only appear when illuminated by specific natural light, even firelight won’t work. Isn’t that strange?"
"Have you ever wondered why this tomb is filled with flammable gas? It’s because the designers of the cavernous tomb didn’t want those who entered to light any fires."
Ivita realized the key point. "So only light magic can be used... not fire magic. Among the three of us, only you can use light magic."
Wilson nodded. "Yes, Lord."
"Let me give it a try."
He brushed his palm over the mural, a faint glow emanated from his hand. He first touched the bottom left corner of the mural, but didn’t find anything.
Then he touched the lower right corner of the mural, again without any discoveries.
Wilson began to doubt his judgment.
However, Ivita said to him, "Shine your light on the mural, specifically on the box that the blind girl is holding."
The Hearthstone Witch’s eyes lit up. "Yes, that’s the spot."
Jack Ripper Wilson aimed his hand at the central part of the mural, above the box, and sure enough, new mural content appeared in the blank center of the box.
The overall effect was as if the box on the mural had opened up with a transparent view, revealing its interior.
Ivita recognized it at once as a map.
If the inside of the box was a map with a path, it likely meant that the prophets who fled from the ancient world had buried the container that carried the laws of the ancient world in another tomb. They then placed a map of the location in this tomb along with the biggest secret of the Thousand-Year Fire.
As Ivita looked at the route on the map, his pupils suddenly constricted. The location indicated on the map was Cross Island.
What a coincidence!
He was already planning to head in that direction to reclaim his viscount’s territory and strengthen his power, as a preparation for the war with the Alsace Kingdom.
But unexpectedly, the prophets had also buried something there.
That would work out brilliantly, he could hit two birds with one stone.
Ivita said to the Hearthstone Witch, "Use whatever paper and pen you have, quickly take a record of this map."
The Hearthstone Witch blinked. "I didn’t bring any paper or pen, and I didn’t bring my portable carriage either."
The portable carriage was a kind of transforming spell controlled by rules, a magic that could only be used by official wizards. However, its capacity was limited, so it couldn’t hold everything.
Ivita was aware of this.
Vampire Wilson said to Ivita, "Lord Ivita, you can certainly memorize all these map routes."
"Even if you can’t recall some minor details later, I can use ’Mental Coercion’ to help you recall forgotten memories."
Ivita nodded; this was a good idea.
However, it didn’t seem right to casually let someone use ’Mental Coercion’ on him.
Just as this thought crossed his mind, Ivita and Wilson heard a sound that was akin to cutting stone. They turned to look and saw the Hearthstone Witch had turned the tips of her index and middle fingers sharp as a small knife.
She had turned her nails into knives and then, directly cut the part of the mural featuring the box that the blind girl was holding from the stone wall.
It was absolutely outrageous.
Wilson was shocked. He looked at Ivita and then at the Hearthstone Witch. Unfortunately, as he’d just joined the group, he didn’t have much say, and didn’t dare to comment.
Ivita, though initially surprised, soon realized that this wasn’t a bad idea at all.
Rather than recording the map, it was better to take the map itself.
The Hearthstone Witch gloated, "Your Highness, this crypt is no longer safe."
"That Pan God has been in here."
"People from the graveyard might also come in."
"Even though they might not be able to uncover the secrets of the mural, for safety’s sake, we should take the mural with us. This way, they would never be able to discover the map on the mural."
Ivita snorted, typical Hearthstone Witch.
He saw the Hearthstone Witch place the football-sized cuboid rock into her portable carriage. Ivita didn’t say anything since he couldn’t use the transforming magic rules of the portable carriage.
However, he only needed to acquire the last two destiny magics to become an official wizard, along with the source of magic for the sky attribute and the war attribute.
But getting the source of war attribute magic was relatively simple. He could feel the war magic power getting stronger and stronger, transmitted from Ambros, nearly forming a Source of Magic.
Because this war involved too many people.
This was why wizards who could absorb war attribute magic were the ones who advanced the most easily in times of chaos.
The source of the sky attribute magic could be settled within his own territory.
Now that everything was settled, Ivita said to the others, "Let’s get going."
"Wilson, light up this cave with your light magic."
Wilson nodded, a glow lit up in his hand, and all the details of the cave’s interior were instantly visible.
Firstly, the cavernous tomb really had a myriad of bends and turns, with countless branches, and the stone walls were covered with moss. Not to mention, there was indeed a complete ecosystem within the cave.
