Chapter 361: Chapter 224: The Sin of the Thousand-Year Fire? Testing Destiny Magic, The Purple Witch (8224)_5

Milani paused and said, "The Knight Gastrot was instantly famous after a single battle!"

Ivita raised his eyebrows when he heard this familiar name.

He initially assumed that, owing to both of them being holders of the Conference Ring, Gastrot would just be a passerby in his life. However, he heard of Gastrot over and over again from various people.

Ivita posed a question, "What happened to Knight Gastrot?"

Milani retorted, "Rumor says he acquired some resources and advanced unbelievably from a common formal knight to a Great Knight. In an incredibly short span of time, he expanded his Extraordinary Organs up to six, reaching the peak attainment of a Great Knight."

"Later on, it was heard that he uncovered the source of the rat catastrophe in the sewers of Ambros, a massive monstrous Rat King."

"The city council of Ambros dispatched over a dozen Hunters, who were all massacred by the Rat King. But for the sake of protecting the ordinary citizens, Gastrot willingly leaped into the sewers and re-emerged with the corpse of the Rat King."

Milani said, "Gastrot, therefore, gained substantial prestige and admiration. The city council wished to confer a barony on him, but he declined on the grounds that he had to travel with his nephew for medical treatment and thus couldn’t settle anywhere."

"The City Council was then compelled to grant him a lifelong honorary citizenship of Ambros and the title of Honorary Baron without land. The citizens of Ambros gifted Gastrot with the nickname—White Horse Knight."

Ivita was emotional, realising how much the two had changed since their parting in the city of Parviga.

But what is this White Horse Knight?

Ivita speculated it probably symbolized Gastrot’s high moral standing.

Ivita commented, "I had an encounter with Gastrot."

"Back then, we had rescued Lady Alice of Parviga together. Gastrot is a true knight, not just in terms of his strength, but also his character. Even without his Extraordinary Organs, his integrity alone is enough to earn him genuine respect."

Remembering the man who traveled thousands of miles for a promise to a sick child put Ivita in awe.

He was indeed not an ordinary man.

Also, Ivita never would have guessed that the forest plague curse on Ambros city, which the Duke of the Forest had cast at the cost of his life, would be resolved by Gastrot.

It turned out that the Sons of the Forest were right. Humans always produce heroes in times of greatest danger.

This privilege of the human species induced jealousy among the Sons of the Forest.

Milani was surprised to learn that Ivita had personally met Gastrot, who recently gained a great reputation in Ambros. She nodded approvingly at Ivita and said, "There are very few men like Gastrot."

"In the end, he plans to leave Ambros and head for Cross Island. I don’t know why, but lately, Cross Island has been in chaos. The daughter of the governor of the Republic of Belisarius and a big monopoly tycoon was kidnapped by some small-time pirates. The girl even claims that she and the pirates are planning to carve out territory and establish an independent duchy within the Cross Island chain."

Milani shook her head, saying, "This situation will undoubtedly lead to the Republic of Belisarius, one of the three republican paradigms, launching a war against the pirates on Cross Island."

While speaking, she handed Ivita a black crystal ball the size of a baby’s fist, appearing like ink jade.

Ivita could tell that this ink jade crystal ball was infused with formidable destructive energy.

Ivita raised his eyebrows, to which Milani explained, "This is a Sphere of Destruction Magic, extracted from the Destructive Celestial Sphere by twenty wizard apprentices over three days."

"The Celestial Sphere is a magic spell, and this Sphere of Destruction Magic is the magical power within it."

"This is what you wanted."

Ivita wondered, "Didn’t you say before that you were busy rebuilding your homeland and wouldn’t have time to help me until a week later? Why did you find time three days ahead of schedule?"

Milani chuckled, "Having protected our Kappa Town, our people are more than willing to serve you in return. Respect is mutual."

"Ivita, you respect us greatly."

Upon hearing this, Ivita nodded in realization.

Milani continued, "Okay, before coming here today, I had already pinpointed the location of the temple within the burial ground using the Positioning Spell. We will explore the temple today and uncover the greatest mystery revolving the Thousand-Year Fire."

Just then, the sleeping Pan God on the second floor opened his eyes, suppressing his excitement.

Provided the expedition today goes well, the plan they had been waiting for a thousand years could finally commence.

They were ready to announce to the world—the Druids were making a comeback!

Downstairs, Ivita instructed Davina to inform Pan God upstairs while he stepped out of the villa with Milani. On the lawn outside, however, Elder Francesca who had turned into a ghost approached them in a distraught state.

She was covered in ash and dirt, appearing dazed.

Milani worriedly inquired, "What happened? What’s wrong?"

"I... I descended five hundred meters into the cemetery to the place only elders would go to after death." Francesca clenched her teeth, "I was hurt by the Ash Magic because I touched the charcoal remains of tens of thousands of bodies."

"Is the sacred Thousand-Year Fire so wicked?"

"Is it necessary to ignite such a despicable flame? What have I been living for in my life? Ah! Ahhhh!"

Francesca stared at Ivita and Milani in a daze. "I request you, don’t go to the temple."
