Chapter 309: Chapter 200 Ivita’s Lord Order_1

A day and a half later, Ivita and Kristin returned to their territory.

To Kristin’s surprise, she finally learned how special Ivita’s territory was. It was situated on the only path to the west that led into Ambros Country.

As they passed through a village in their carriages, Ivita noticed that civilians from four villages had largely rebuilt their homes. The remaining issues were merely minor disputes over field divisions. The reconstructed villages, built with red bricks and green stones, were like something out of a fairy tale, beautiful and extraordinary.

Compared to the previous villages made of hay, mud, and wood, it was as if they were in a different world.

One could hardly recognize them as the former villages of Baron Moro’s territory.

Kristin said to Ivita, "I have visited many territories in Ambros, but yours is certainly among the richest."

"I honestly never thought you’d be such a good lord."

Ivita raised an eyebrow at her, "Don’t judge a book by its cover."

Kristin nodded thoughtfully.

They traveled through the village and arrived at the castle gate in their carriages.

Butler Akalia, along with five manservants, was waiting at the castle entrance to greet Ivita. As soon as Ivita stepped down from the carriage, the butler quickly greeted her, assuring her that everything was well within the territory, except for an unexpected addition of a castle.

The butler informed her that he had asked Knight Griffin to station ten militiamen in the castle, which had suddenly appeared on the other side of the hillock.

After all, the castle was large, extravagant, and fortified with defenses.

Therefore, Knight Griffin immediately went to protect the suddenly emerged castle.

The butler also reported to Ivita that the iron foundry was now earning the territory nine hundred gold pounds a month.

This figure was growing daily because the problem was not the insufficient production of iron, but the limited market.

However, cast iron was a good product to sell, so this was merely a matter of time.

As for the soap factory, it was still in the money-losing stage of investment.

Ivita casually took off her dirty coat and handed it to a manservant. The butler gave the tall manservant a glance, instructing him to help Ivita put on the clean clothes.

Ivita declined the servant’s help and dressed herself. She then introduced the butler to Kristin, "This is Miss Kristin, a hunter I have recruited for our territory. Kristin, this is my butler."

Kristin rolled her eyes, who said that you hired me?

Like you paid me.

But she chose not to expose Ivita in front of the servants.

No matter what her private relationship with Ivita was, she couldn’t speak to Ivita casually in front of them.

Kristin did have her limits.

The butler hurriedly led the way in bowing to Kristin, then had a servant come over to help Kristin with her belongings.

Ivita asked the butler to arrange for Kristin’s stay in the castle. Then, she told the butler, "Starting today, raise awareness among the civilians about the precaution against the wolf pack. Also, if any civilians in our territory are growing monkshood, they can be subsidized at a rate of three shillings per acre."

"But anything beyond one acre will not be subsidized."

They couldn’t give the civilians too much subsidy, otherwise, if everyone started planting monkshood, things would become complicated.

During her journey with Kristin, she had mentioned that monkshood was non-toxic to humans but highly poisonous to Wolfmen and wolf packs. This was unlike the deadly celestial monkshood for humans, perhaps this was linked to the druids’ curse on the wolf pack.

Although the butler didn’t understand why Ivita wanted the civilians to grow monkshood, he didn’t question it. He simply said to Ivita with a bow, "Lord Ivita, I will pass on your instructions. But for such a matter, you need to sign a Lordship Decree."

Ivita nodded. "If there’s nothing else, we’ll leave it at that, Mr. Akalia."

"Later, I’ll have Rayli deliver to you the Lordship Decree with my signature."

She decided to return to the study first to take advantage of the time and delve into the Cloak of Destruction to advance her abilities, preparing for the imminent war on the cemetery.

The butler hesitated for a moment before addressing Ivita, "Lord Ivita, there’s a minor issue that doesn’t really require your attention, but I feel it’s necessary to inform you."

As she walked, Ivita said to him, "Say it."

The butler lowered his head momentarily, carefully choosing his words before finally saying to Ivita, "Well, this situation is somewhat peculiar."

"The day before yesterday, a team of explorers from the North passed through our territory, intending to enter Ambros. Our tollhouse guard warned them several times not to cause trouble. However, to our astonishment, these explorers robbed the villagers at the edge of our territory during the night."

"Of course, these explorers have been arrested by our patrolling guards and are now imprisoned in the territory jail."

"But..."

Ivita raised her eyebrow, glancing at the butler. If this was the case, then they could simply exile or execute the guilty as per the rules, there was no need to inform her.

Ivita asked, "What exactly happened?"

Immediately, the butler said, "The difficult part is, that team of explorers who harassed our villagers, broke into people’s houses at night, and were killed with a sickle by the homeowners, being mistaken as thieves."
