Chapter 298: Chapter 194: Thousand-Year Fire’s Request for Help_3

Another bald elder also looked at Hugo in doubt, seeking answers from their leader.

Hugo casualy nodded, "Hmm, what’s so surprising about that? After diligent research and studying numerous books, I have developed this magic on my own."

He threw the Twisting Spear at the Ashen Man and the Tide Fishman. This slim spear, evidently several tens of meters away from the Tide Fishman, ignored this distance and arrived in front of the standoff between the Tide Fishman and the Ashen Man in less than a tenth of a second.

Hugo was eager to see the death of the beast that had hunted wizards from the graveyard.

As for whether the Ashen Man would be affected by his magic, that was no longer his concern.

The bald elder and Francesca also clearly understood that this unexpected Twisted Magic was immensely powerful. The Great Wizard was already formidable, and with the addition of Twisted Magic, its strength is likely to be beyond even the most powerful of witches.

Twisted Magic is one of the most powerful types of magic.

Its power emanates from prejudice and double standards, an evil magic only demons can master.

Looking at Hugo, Francesca began to doubt his ancestry.

But if he was not a human, how would the Witches’ Graveyard accept him as their leader?

Moreover, if Hugo was involved with demons, then would not his ascendancy, facilitated by his own efforts during the rebellion decades earlier, have been premeditated?

Only now did Francesca realize that the crisis of the Graveyard was far more complex than she had initially thought.

Hugo laughed coldly, giving orders to the two elders. "After annihilating that Fishman Monster, together we will track down its master through the remnants of its body. Even if this thing turns into water, it doesn’t matter,"

"We can extract water from the mud of the earth. I have to find out who planted this monster near our graveyard, leading so many of our people to die. I want them to wish..."

Hugo sensed something was off, and looked up.

Both elders and Hugo watched in horror as the dreadful Twisting Spear, on the verge of reaching the Tide Fishman and Ashen Man, was suddenly swallowed by a vortex that enlarged around the Fishman’s chest.

Hugo opened his mouth in surprise, "What?!?"

"Water Magic should be incapable of resisting Twisted Magic!"

"No, the enduring connection between them signifies some kind of resonance."

Hugo’s face darkened as he identified through this revelation, the mastermind behind the placement of the monster.

"It’s the Igniter."

"The Thousand-Year Fire is resonating through Ash magic with the unknown master behind the monster. The flames want to reveal the secret to the Igniter."

"I will not allow this to happen."

Amidst the odd looks of the elders, he was fuming with rage, as if the occurrence of this event would infringe upon his interests.

...

Within Maximilian’s castle, Ivita found his attempts to exit the illusion unsuccessful, and instead, he found himself trapped in a new illusion.

This time he beame a king seated on a high throne, watching as a huge army escorted men, women, and children to the sacrificial platform.

Ivita noticed that the blood-red flames in the center of the sacrificial platform no longer seemed as evil.

That’s right, the flames he saw with Princess Alsace closely resembled this one.

The previous flame was too nefarious, giving him the feeling of being stared at by an Other Ghost wearing a bronze mask.

While this Thousand-Year Fire, although still crimson, was not as evil, it was merely filled with cruelty and bloodshed.
