Kristin nodded, she was amazed at Ivita’s deductive reasoning and his ability to quickly come to the conclusions that the hunters took a long time to reach through experiences.
"Yes, there are such Wolfmen," Kristin said.
"Some hunters choose to believe them and even consider them allies, permitting them to occupy some areas."
Kristin sneered, "Those hunters are too easily trusting."
"I don’t believe that a Wolfman never kills, just like a dog never forgets to eat meat. Can carnivores really forget about eating meat and become herbivores?"
Kristin left.
Ivita looked down at the injured knights and sighed. All he could do was call off the Water Dragon Soldier and help them take the Old Knight to a city doctor.
Wolf’s Poison was a curse from the Witch King, there was no antidote.
Ivita was relieved that he wasn’t bitten by the Wolfman, and he had thoughts about getting some Wolfman’s blood to keep in the Spirit Mirror Space as a contingency.
This city was too dangerous with Wolfmen, he should leave sooner.
While the absolute strength of a Wolf pack wasn’t great, their Wolf’s Poison was insoluble at the same level. It was disgusting.
Any slight mishap could lead to disaster.
No wonder Ambros’ hunters were always targeting the Wolf pack for so many years, completely eradicating them from the region.
Ivita strolled down the night streets, aiming to return to the inn he rented earlier. His carriage and Coachman were still waiting for him there.
Just as Ivita was pondering while walking, he felt a presence behind him from a narrow alleyway. He looked up to see a huge Bearman standing inside the shop.
Ivita instantly recognized him. It was Maximilian.
Ivita remained vigilant and said, "Mr. Maximilian, as I recall, you usually don’t sneak around when carrying out tasks."
Maximilian stepped out of the darkness and apologized to Ivita, "I am sorry, Mr. Ivita. I am not here to bother you but to request your help."
"I’ve put my wife in my castle. After fighting with the red robed Hunter Kristin, I find myself getting more and more excited. I feel the urge to roar and vent the infinite power within me."
"I’ve even done something pretty terrible."
"I hope a powerful and wise wizard could help me."
Maximilian sincerely said.
Ivita frowned, feeling perplexed. What terrible thing had Maximilian done?
He asked, "Why me?"
"I have no friends, and you were the only one who chose to help me at the dance." Maximilian scratched his bear head. Perhaps it was his Bearman form, but Ivita sensed that this guy was quite insecure.
Every time he spoke to Ivita, he never dared to make eye contact.
Ivita nodded, "I have a general understanding of your situation. But Maximilian, I can’t help without getting something in return. Nothing is free in this world; you have to give before you can get something back."
Maximilian repeatedly waved his hand, "I never expect you to help for nothing. But I don’t have any riches, only myself..."
"Also that..."
"In any case, if you can help me understand my current physical condition, I can assist you in the future."
"I think I am quite useful."
As he spoke, he flexed his arm, revealing his muscular Bearman limb.
Ivita almost laughed. This man certainly had a bear-like disposition. When causing trouble, he was like a fearless grizzly.
Now that he was pleading for help, he was like a timid and submissive bear.
Who else would pronounce their usefulness while begging for help? It was almost as if he had a sign saying ’please validate me’ written on his face.
Ivita pondered for a moment. It wouldn’t be bad to have the help of a Black Bear Man.
While Kristin was contemplating how to fulfill her Hunter duties by killing off the Dark Night Clan and Sons of Forest, Ivita had to think about how to build an army for the future counter-attack on the Alsace Kingdom.
Black Bear Men were incredibly strong, capable of fighting with official Knights, and were on par with Kristin. The roar of a Black Bear was even capable of inducing dizziness in anyone within range, even Kristin couldn’t resist this ability.
In other words, there was benefit to be had.
Ivita didn’t rush to sign a contract with him because the Black Bear Man himself was still developing.
Ivita wasn’t sure if this Black Bear Man ancestor would have his own army in the future.
Ivita decided to make contact first, letting him owe a favor could wait.
"So, are you feeling hungry at the moment?" Ivita asked, "Do you want to eat meat? What kind of meat do you want, chicken, pork, human? Or do you want to eat grass?"
Maximilian shook his head in confusion. "Bears don’t eat grass."
"I also don’t want to eat human flesh, I don’t have any interest in it, nor in chicken or pork. I think I don’t want to eat meat."
Maximilian licked his lips, "I want honey."
Ivita felt relieved, so the main diet of a Black Bear Man was honey.
So they did generally eat plants, right?
A Bearman that doesn’t eat meat was far less threatening and hostile to humans than a Wolfman.
