Chapter 277: Chapter 184: Street Fight and the Rebirth of Boots Cat_2

When Boots Cat departed, the guests murmured among themselves, discussing the unfolding events and speculating about Ivita’s identity, astonished that Boots Cat would seek to borrow it for half an hour.

Once Boots Cat had left, those who had been paralyzed by his presence began to stir with anticipation.

Kristin picked herself up from the ground, her eyes burning with hate as she glared at Black Bear Man Maximilian.

Baron Taketick bypassed the chairman and, sword in hand, charged at Maximilian. "Without that cat around, what are you, you beastly brat?" he spat.

His sword swung down viciously towards the Black Bear Man.

The chairman cried out in alarm, "Baron, my daughter is still in his hands! Stop!"

Jenny looked frightened, but Maximilian blocked Baron Taketick’s sword with the one Boots Cat had bestowed upon him.

The two locked blades in quick succession, neither able to overpower the other.

The strength with which they wielded their swords was immense, resulting in rapid movements that left only blurred shadows and sparks flying in the eyes of the guests, accompanied by increasingly terrifying sounds of clashing metal.

Maximilian stared back determinedly: "Today, I am straying furthest from my principles."

"But it is also my steadfastest moment."

"I will protect my beloved."

As his words echoed, the Sword of Guardians in his hand ignited and shone brighter with miraculous gold light. As Maximilian’s and Baron Taketick’s swords clashed again, the latter was flung away by the golden radiance.

Baron Taketick stared in disbelief, "How is it possible that a mere Black Bear Man possesses such strength?"

The next moment, Baron Taketick was sent flying by a swift kick from Maximilian.

Collapsed on the ground, Baron Taketick could do nothing as Maximilian, standing tall and resolute, challenged the room with a roar, "Is there anyone else who contests?"

No one dared confront his brute force. Without orders from their chairman, the soldiers refrained from launching an attack.

The chairman himself was afraid of causing harm to his daughter, and thus, hesitated to command his troops to attack.

And so, Maximilian experienced his greatest moment, single-handedly silencing the room and protecting his love against all odds.

Behind him, Jenny’s eyes were filled with starlight.

this unusual standstill persisted for approximately fifteen minutes.

The naive Young Elder, Geoffrey Abbot, seeing that even Baron Taketick could not overpower the Black Bear Man, especially considering the powerful sword Maximilian held, redirected his infuriated humiliation towards Ivita.

He pointed at Ivita and angrily shouted, "What did that damn cat whisper to you? You must be in cahoots with that cat and bear, and are hiding something."

"Now tell us why the cat wanted to borrow your identity, or I will kill you."

Ivita continued to silently twist his Ring of Desire, seemingly oblivious to Geoffrey’s words.

What an unfortunate turn of events, it’s a fool he has encountered.

What business is his identity of yours?

Seeing Ivita ignoring him, Geoffrey Abbot felt humiliated all over again. He gripped his short sword, charged at Ivita and raised his sword high. His eyes glowed red as he invoked the Berserk ability.

Leaping into mid-air, he roared, "I’ve disliked you since the very first sight."

Ivita merely rolled his eyes, not even bothering to glance at this fool. With a tsk, a thunderous sound filled the surrounding and winds whip began whipping throughout the ballroom.

It was as if a storm had suddenly descended within the room.

The gusts lifted the hem of several noble ladies’ dresses, causing them to hold them down with their hands to prevent embarrassing exposure. The men were forced to cover their eyes against the powerful wind.

All manner of debris - fragments of shattered glass, wooden splinters, remnants of cakes and other foods - were swept up by the fierce winds.

A claw-shaped lightning bolt split into three and shot through the three windows of the building before converging inside and striking Geoffrey Abbot, who was suspended in mid-air. The lightning bolt threw him from one side of the room to the other before pinning him to the wall like a squashed mosquito.

Each time Ivita used his Lightning Curse, it seemed stronger. Now, it felt as though he himself was casting the curse, rather than relying on the power of the Lightning Ring.

As he cast the curse, Ivita had a vision of the nighttime sky filled with stars. One star shone brighter than the rest, but before Ivita could identify it, the image disappeared.

’Was that the connection between magic and the stars? I must be getting closer to discovering my Destiny Magic,’ Ivita mused.

Meanwhile, he watched as Gladiator Geoffrey Abbot was dislodged from the wall.

The gasping audience was amazed.

Geoffrey Abbot, who had just held his ground against Baron Taketick, had been effortlessly pinned to the wall with a single incantation by Ivita, who didn’t even give him a second glance.
