Chapter 263: Chapter 178: Fishman Hunting the Graveyard Wizard and Ice Witch’s Sleigh (5119)_3

A male witch asked the Spirit of the Tides, clearly confused, "A Fishman?"

"The Fishman families of the Witch Graveyard and Cross Island have all agreed to a truce, with at least a hundred and fifty years left until it ends. Why have you broken the signpost leading to the Witch Graveyard?"

The Fishman of the Tides staggered a few steps forward before speaking haltingly, "I... am not... a Fishman..."

"I am... your... Death God..."

Acquiring a physical body significantly enhanced the intelligence of the Spirit of Tides, boosting it approximately to the level of a ten-year-old human child. His speech still wasn’t fluent, though.

This intelligence surpassed that of nearly all animals, which was within the Hearthstone Witch’s expectations. Otherwise, she would not have offered her personal stash to help the Spirit of Tides acquire a body.

Three male witches prepared to attack and cast their Splitting, Explosive, and Resistance curses.

However, the Spirit of the Tides moved faster, darting around so quickly that the three spells missed him entirely.

In the blink of an eye, he was behind the three witches. He leaped into their midst and thrust his Lightning Sword into the heart of one with the speed of lightning. Then, he struck another in the chest with the other end of his trident, the one who had tried to deliver the Explosive Curse against him.

Instantly, the chest of the second witch turned into a block of ice.

Within less than 30 seconds, this male witch was recoiling in agony while stammering out, "You’re not a Fishman... Fishmen aren’t this fast on land..."

"What kind of monster are you?"

"You..."

Before he could finish his sentence, he had already turned into an ice statue.

The third male witch screamed in terror.

The Fishman of Tides turned around and punched him in the head. The punch was so fast that it was just a blur.

With a clatter—

The apprentice witch was thrown back, and he let out a wail as he stood, clutching his head after he landed five or six meters away.

He was still alive, although blood gushed from his forehead.

The Fishman of Tides looked at his left fist in confusion. "The... Displacement... Curse... protected you..."

The apprentice witch screamed, "Monster!" while running away. "How could such a terrible monster exist?!"

"Its spiritual aura is too distorted, too terrifying..."

That apprentice witch fled in utter terror.

What drove him to such madness wasn’t just the sight of the Fishman killing two apprentice witches in an instant, or the cold indifference in its eyes.

Primarily, it was the observation he made when his forehead was punched, using his Spirit Vision to inspect the Spirit of Tides.

Only then did he see that beneath the Fishman’s powerful frame, equal in size to a fully-grown human, lurked a horrifying spiritual power. Despite its complexity, it was incredibly organized.

The chilling aura it emitted was enough to send shivers down his spine.

It was as though the Fishman was specifically designed to hunt witches from the graveyard.

He needed to head back quickly and alert everyone in the graveyard. As long as they found Elder Frank, they could handle this Fishman Monster.

The Fishman of Tides seemed not to care and allowed him to flee.

While he was running, the apprentice witch looked back and saw the Fishman Monster still standing where he had faced it. A sigh of relief escaped his lips.

That’s right.

As long as he could get away, he would be fine.

He knew he wouldn’t die. He still had a future, a marriage, children. He was still young, and he had much yet to experience.

He was waiting for the graveyard festival, where the sacrifice of four lives could bring every witch in the graveyard an increase in magical power. Chief Hugo had even promised him that once their side had seized control through war, they would let him govern a city.

He wouldn’t just die like...

Suddenly, he heard a whooshing noise, and when he looked back, he saw the distant Fishman had thrown its trident towards his retreating back.

Then, the Fishman jumped onto the flying trident, closing the distance between them as if launched from a catapult.

The distance that he had so carefully created collapsed within just half a minute, with the trident-riding Fishman gaining on him.

What do I do?

What do I do?

At this life-and-death crisis, the apprentice witch had the cleverest idea of his life due to survival impulse.

He abruptly changed direction and dove into a nearby forest.

In his mind, he was thinking, even if you can fly on a trident, you can’t change direction mid-flight, right?

He still had a chance to survive!

Unfortunately, the apprentice witch heard the whooshing noise again. He looked back and saw the Fishman put slight pressure on the trident with his right foot, causing it to land on the ground.

As the trident landed, streams of water erupted from the top.

These streams enabled the Fishman of Tides to maneuver the trident through the forest as if he were on a seafaring skateboard. Despite changing direction, the trident’s speed remained the same.

This is how he caught up with the fleeing witch.

The witch watched as the Fishman used the trident as a makeshift glider, traveling at his same speed. He suddenly thought about the hunt tactics of certain sharks, who chased smaller fish until they were exhausted, before devouring them.

At this thought, a chill crept into his heart.

The apprentice witch began to roar angrily. "I am not afraid of you!"

However, the next moment, he found his heart being mercilessly crushed by the Fishman’s left hand.

The body of the apprentice witch fell to the ground without life, still in mid-run.

The Fishman kicked the trident. It flipped over and landed on the ground. As it bounced back up, the Fishman caught it in his hand.

The Fishman kept his gaze fixed on Kappa Town.

Under Ivita’s command, he would not approach the Witch Graveyard for fear of the Destructive Celestial Sphere. However, should any witch dare leave the graveyard, like a hunter, he would kill these witches and their apprentices.
