Chapter 179: Chapter 131: The God of All Beasts and Two Slaves (4304)_2
"So, I might have to save money all my life in order to purchase the noble title in Ankara State. The noble titles of Ankara State can be bought because our nobility is not the large land aristocracy of feudal serfdom, nor military aristocracy, let alone the merchantaristocracy of The Three Republics, but an accolade for the outstanding ones."
"However, speaking of it, every citizen of our Ankara State is a slave owner. We even have five Kings."
Ivita raised his eyebrows in surprise. The exotic foreign country’s customs and life, which was different from what he was used to in Ambros, seemed somewhat peculiar.
As they were about to reach the simple tent, Ivita saw a man and woman slave locked alone in an iron cage. The two slaves were sitting far apart from each other.
They both were cornered diagonally as far as possible from one another in the iron cage.
Some dirty clothes were balled up and left lying between them.
This scene was relatively rare among these human slaves, most of whom were pirates and did not pay attention to such details.
Meanwhile, Ivita also noticed the frail black-haired man and the blonde woman in the cage.
Pan God had told him not to buy the frail black-haired man amongst the slaves sold by today’s slave traders, but he could buy the blonde woman next to the slave.
Thinking about it, the man and the woman in the cage must be the ones being referred to.
It’s not easy to meet all these requirements at once.
Ivita halted, pointed at the cage, and asked, "These two don’t seem to be pirates at all. You didn’t capture and imprison the people from Ambros, did you?"
"Of course not!" Jackson hastened to explain. "I have a slave trade permit issued by the Grand Viscount to our city-state."
"The Grand Viscount allows us to sell Beastman slaves in Ambros."
Ivita capture a key information from Jackson’s words. That is to say, strictly speaking, slaves from Ankara State cannot be sold as human slaves in Ambros Country.
As for Jackson, although he did not have many human slaves for sale, he still violated this law.
However, as long as he does not overstep the line, no one will argue with him over this.
To strictly enforce a law, it requires substantial manpower, material resources, and resources to supervise everyone in order to strictly implement this law. However, Ambros does not have such conditions.
Jackson walked over, kicked the iron cage to wake the man and the woman inside it, and shouted, "Wake up, some folks are here to see you!"
"Mr. Ivita, look at these two slaves. The woman has fair skin and is pretty, she can accomplish a multitude of tasks, as for the man..."
Jackson tried hard to find favour about the man, but having sold many male pirate slaves before, he could not find any perks about this frail, fair-skinned man. So he turned towards the blonde beauty again and said, "Let’s not talk about the man for now, he can just be bundled together with the woman, since they’ve been locked up together anyways."
"Look at this woman, her skin is like silk, and her hands certainly haven’t done any manual labour. I came across them on a pirate ship when they were being plundered..."
Just then, the woman suddenly grabbed the cage’s bars, turned to Ivita, her face burning with impatience and desire, and said, "I am the daughter of Baron Il, this merchant deals with people from Ambros, if you can save me, you can gain friendship with my father and massive wealth."
"Please, save me, Baron."
"Please, don’t let commoners’ hands taint us, the nobles."
The woman clung to the cage bars, pitiable and pitiful, looking every bit like a noble lady fallen on hard times.
Ivita was speechless.
If Pan hadn’t already revealed her identity to him, he really couldn’t have told the truth of the matter at this point.
And that man next to her...
Ivita looked at him curiously. Pan had warned me not to buy this man?
Why?
Not everything said by Pan can be relied upon.
This was also true for the one named Witch Anna, descendants of hers can’t even be found.
Ivita was tempted to use the public fund to buy these two slaves. Because one of them was probably a spy, Viscount Winchester was using a foreign merchant to infiltrate Parviga.
So, it wouldn’t be too much if he used the public fund to purchase them."
Jackson was scared and rushed up to the woman, kicking her right in the face, fearful that her accusations would get him in real trouble.
If he were to be expelled from Ambros because of this, he would be done for.
He was on the brink of bankruptcy, he remembered there was no way he could afford the cost of being expelled from Ambros.
The woman, claiming to be the daughter of the Baron, covered her bleeding nose with her hand.
Ivita was speechless, turning to the merchant he said, "I’ll take her."
"As for the money, you can collect it from the Blacksmith Guild later."
Jackson looked shocked, under such circumstances, he thought there was no way Ivita would still accept the suspicious woman. Yet, he agreed to take her even though she had just been kicked in the face by him.
Jackson, being among the most gracious of slave traders, was sure that the goods were, in essence, obtained by robbery.
All they had to pay was the cost of capturing those people.
Jackson believed that the tall, thin man next to the woman would be rather difficult to sell, as he didn’t seem to have any special skills. Thus, he said to Ivita, "Mr. Ivita, thank you for your benevolence. The God of All Things will look kindly on you."
