Chapter 1058: Chapter 540: The Druids’ Meteor
Half a month later, the Holy Empire, United Kingdom, and Pearl Tooth Kingdom formed an alliance with the Ross Empire and officially declared a full-scale war against the Frankish people.
It was the third war against the Frankish people, on an even larger scale.
The number of participants and countries involved increased.
During the war, the skies were streaked with brilliant meteors, days lengthened, nights shortened, and an eternal summer came bounding in like a young maiden taking light steps.
It was as if the spring had blossomed; fields created by human deforestation were now overrun with weeds and wildflowers, as the wild, primal nature spirits began to appear in the Magic Black Forest.
They called themselves "Natural Fundamentalists," frequently appearing, blessing mortals, and encouraging humans to establish churches for these ancient spirits.
Such issues naturally came before Ivita.
Due to the wartime status, the Emperor’s powers were strengthened; therefore, Ivita directly ordered Tartax to establish a religious registry to determine the legality of churches outside the Holy Church.
This method could effectively reduce the damage caused by cults to the Empire.
Tartax hesitated before speaking to Ivita, "Your Majesty, you are opposing the primitive nature spirits in the wilderness. What if the propagation is illegal?"
Ivita looked at Tartax and said, "It is not I who oppose them, but rather they who oppose me, the Emperor."
"From now on, any religious sects within the Empire that are illegal will no longer be protected by the law, and the nobles who capture these sects will be richly rewarded by me."
Tartax looked at Ivita, felt the decisiveness in her decision, and realized that given her status today, she indeed had the authority to look down upon the gods. "I am willing to think tirelessly for Your Majesty."
Tartax then left.
Ivita looked at the beautiful fountains and exquisite flowers within the manor and thought to herself, "I need to find a force, one that I can completely control, and that can still protect my nation when I am not present. Such an army cannot be created out of thin air, which power could possess such a force."
Ivita looked into the distance, when suddenly, her eyes lit up.
The Great Lord of Black Death!
In the multiple transformations of the Black Death by the Frankish people, it had started to spawn Light Beings.
Those Light Beings were entirely new forms of life.
Dangerous to humans.
But they were like newborns, naïve and simple-minded, their ambitions easy to manipulate and control.
’I want to create some armor for these beings of light, a gift for them,’ thought Ivita, her eyes sparkling.
Then, turning around with her hands clasped behind her back, she swept her gaze coldly forward. "Who?"
Someone had infiltrated the Alsace Palace, someone who, even under the dual protection of universal laws, could use supernatural power to approach her—almost definitely someone with the power to end worlds.
Ivita looked coldly at the newly materialized Pan God and a massive golden lion. "Druids?"
Pan God raised his hands to Ivita. "Wait, Your Majesty, have you forgotten our friendship in just a few days? This is the chief Druid." "We come here to discuss certain matters with the Emperor who controls the order of the Magic Dark Forest Universe."
Ivita raised an eyebrow. "Pan, I welcome you alone, but as Emperor, I must consider the interests of my own nation."
Pan God shrugged at the Lion King, "You see, Chief, I tried."
"He is now the Emperor, and our interests may not align."
Ignoring Pan God’s quip, the Lion King stepped forward and gently said to Ivita, "Young Emperor, you are the guardian of humans and intelligent beings, not just a monarch of a nation."
"Your vision surely extends further than what we can see. The return of the Druids is inevitable, and since we can return, it must also be the will of the Lord of All Things."
"Please allow the Druids to return, Your Majesty. You could easily make the lands outside the Empire a nation of Druids, like the Frankish people. In cooperating with us, the Frankish people will be left without support."
Ivita swept her gaze over the Lion King and nodded, "Chief of the Druids. I want to ask, what good would your return to the Magic Black Forest do for the inhabitants there? What benefits would it bring to humans?"
The Lion King spoke softly, "We would bring richer life resources to the Magic Black Forest, and the Druids would bring corrective forces."
"Like this instance with the Black Death Lord."
"And the Light Beings."
"Druids have the necessary abilities to handle them and eliminate these crises."
Ivita was puzzled. "One thing I don’t understand, wasn’t the appearance of the Light Beings your doing? Although it was subtle, I still detected traces of Druidic technology in the breeding of new life by the Black Death."
The Lion King said, "No, Your Majesty. Many have studied Druidic technology, and although the creation of the Light Beings is impressive, it was a mistake."
Ivita was startled, then realized the key point; the Druids were more conservative than anyone, staunchly defending their own kind even as the Titans devolved humanity.
Now that humans had spawned the Light Beings, the Druids still disregarded them as so-called entities, focusing instead on how to distribute the already allocated human benefits.
