Chapter 865: Volume 27: Sudden Gust, Chapter 6: Summoning the Undead
Emerging from the portal opened within the black mist, a figure burst forth, engulfed in pure black flames, with a black gold circlet atop his head. In his hand, the trident shimmered with dazzling gold rings. His ancient armor clearly belonged to an era at least a hundred years past. Around his waist was a mysterious iron belt, oddly marked with various beastly scripts, while several turbid turquoise and blue diamonds adorned the buckle, clearly indicating the high status of the Dark Flame Demon destined to stand before others.
Schiller’s initial angry gaze shifted slightly at this moment. A Dark Flame Demon?! Is this man an Undead Mage? He can actually summon a Dark Flame Demon? And that Dark Flame Demon’s trident appeared to have black mist intermingled with the flames. Where did this man find such an excellent corpse?
As a senior priest of the Religious Court, Schiller was no stranger to Undead Mages. To be frank, he had ’saved’ quite a few Undead Mages himself, but it was rare to summon a powerful undead like the Dark Flame Demon so readily. Moreover, the situation seemed to be more than that. The original quality of this Dark Flame Demon seemed quite high; in life, he had possessed fighting qi strength. What kind of training did this man use on the undead, allowing this corpse to retain its past life’s fighting qi ability?
As if intending to shock Schiller thoroughly, the dark passage didn’t close after the Dark Flame Demon emerged. Another figure, a Black Warrior wielding an Ice Wind Magic Sword, leaped out. The deft, nimble movements and the chilly aura brought forth by the sword made the whole area seem to drop in temperature instantly.
Konti didn’t give Schiller much time to think. As soon as the two undead appeared, a series of gestures burst forth. The two undead seemed to be infused with souls all at once, and the trident and Ice Wind Magic Sword immediately stirred up Yin Wind Demon Flames towards Schiller.
Frowning slightly, Schiller did not wish to be entangled by this Undead Mage. In his opinion, to "capture the king first," neutralizing Komer was of the utmost importance. However, the strength displayed by the Undead Mage couldn’t be taken lightly. The dark passage still showed no signs of closing, and more undead warriors might crawl out at any time. Even just dealing with these two ferocious undead in front of him would be enough to keep him busy for a while.
The Holy Light Technique was activated immediately, and an incomparably holy light, like sunshine spreading everywhere, engulfed the two undead in a milky glow. The "crackle" and "pop" sounds were incessant as the two undead burst into bone-cracking explosions under the radiant Holy Light Bath. The black mist and white light intermixed, and the two undead simultaneously stumbled, seemingly weighed down by an immense pressure that made it difficult to move.
However, with Konti’s fervent shout, two defensive spells were instantly layered onto the two undead. The undead seemed to suddenly gain strength, enduring the onslaught of the Holy Light Power that had just struck them, and their speed surged considerably.
The Dark Flame Demon lunged first, and after the black flames on the trident shook continuously on the gold rings, they unexpectedly detached from the trident itself, floating and spinning towards Schiller. This was the ghost fire of the undead from hell, ignited by the origin of the undead’s soul, which would never extinguish until everything was burnt to ashes. At the same time, the trident wildly danced in the hands of the Dark Flame Demon, its powerful gusts seemingly carrying its body as it viciously pounced toward Schiller.
Simultaneously, the Black Warrior’s Ice Wind Magic Sword stirred up gusts of chilling wind that furiously assaulted Schiller, its fierce Sword Qi causing waves upon waves, as if to tear apart space itself, truly like the arrival of an exceedingly formidable Warrior King, fierce and fierce without equal.
A slight smirk surfaced on the corner of Schiller’s mouth. His Rod of Light was already tightly gripped, and he had no shred of pity for such undead scum. Either cleanse them completely or reduce them to dust and ashes—such was the creed of the Religious Court. Although these two undead appeared to have undergone some refinement and training by their masters, to Schiller, who possessed the purest Holy Spirit of Light, it meant little, at most it would just consume some more of his Holy Light Power; he absolutely didn’t believe these dark undead could withstand the baptism of the Holy Light from the heavenly realm.
Giovanni could no longer contain his inner fervor, and as soon as Konti leaped forward to challenge Schiller, he couldn’t hold back. The three Mages behind Michelangelo naturally became his prime targets. He and two of the Dark Mages behind Komer quickly formed a small magic strike team, and a small Magic Array composed of Dark Magic and wind magic instantly engulfed the three Light Mages behind Michelangelo.
The fierce wind roared, the Fighting Qi surged, Sword Qi and Magic Arcane shone together, the dark Yin Wind clashed with the Holy Light, and suddenly the square before the prison tower became a place where heaven and hell coexisted. Everyone was utterly immersed in the battle that no one had completely foreseen. Komer had not anticipated that in the absence of Noyola and Lorenzo, there would be Heavenly Knights and Mages of the Vazinsky Clan joining in, while Schiller could never have expected that the remnants of dark forces attacking this time would possess such immense strength.
Only Flamengo and Solka, two Dark Mages, were left on Komer’s side, cooperating with Newman standing by to watch the battle. Clarence and Sheferley had already unavoidably entangled with the three Court Mages Schiller had brought. Clarence, having been specially instructed by Komer, was no longer the Earth-based magician who had once been captured; not only had he made great strides in the depth of his Magic power, but he had also significantly improved in his use of Earth Magic.
Facing the Light Array formed together by three Light Mages, if it were before the battle in Homer, Clarence and Sheferley would have already been defeated. But at this time, they could barely manage to hold on together. The Mud Giant Demon became Clarence’s protective magic charm; its stature towering three meters tall meant that the attacks initiated by the Light Mages’ Array could only land on the Mud Giant Demon. Every time the demon was struck, it would disintegrate into mud, but it could quickly regroup in a short time to return to its original state.
If it were not for Sheferley’s full support, Clarence couldn’t have lasted. The power of the Light Array was simply too strong. Each time the Array sparkled in the sky, the Holy Light would force the three Mud Giant Demons to crash to the ground, and if they could not recover before the next strike from the Light Array, then what awaited Clarence and Sheferley was only the baptism of the Holy Light.
