Chapter 830: Volume 25: Midstream Strikes, Chapter 17: Possessed by a Demon

Looking at the beautiful girl in front of him with a twisted description, Komer couldn’t suppress the impulse to laugh uproariously at the sky.

Was this Saintess Iliana or Uma? Komer couldn’t confirm for a moment, but he was sure of one thing: Uma hadn’t truly conquered Saintess Iliana. The hateful gaze of the girl before him was evidence enough. However, it seemed Uma hadn’t come away empty-handed; she appeared to have successfully entrenched herself within the other’s body, though she was still far from controlling the other’s soul and thoughts.

This was a special secret room on the second floor of Damarlinsk Castle. The Eye of Darkness provided an excellent source of recovery for Uma’s Dark Origin. After the battle at Busen Plain, Uma returned to the Eye of Darkness to recuperate. Komer had advised her not to meddle with her spoils of war—Saintess Iliana—until she was fully recovered, but clearly, this person hadn’t heeded Komer’s advice.

Suppressing his desire to laugh, Komer shook his head. Haste makes waste; why did this person never understand such simple truths? The power held by Saintess Iliana, as well as the firmness of her will, far exceeded Lome’s. Even Komer himself wouldn’t boast that he could subdue her without additional special means, and yet Uma had tried to possess her forcibly while still injured. Now look at the situation—if Komer hadn’t come to this secret room to check, this person might have really squandered such a perfect body.

"Uma, can you speak through her body?" Komer simply sat down and asked with a curious smile.

"Of course I can. Did you really think I couldn’t?" Before Uma’s shrill voice settled, another voice, cool but slightly angry, burst out from the same mouth, "Despicable! You dark trash! Your delusions will never come true!"

Komer stared dumbfounded at the beautiful girl in front of him. What was going on? Witnessing her delicate face suddenly contort, and her cherry lips opening and closing, Komer finally realized that two souls were still fighting for dominance over this body, and it seemed that they were evenly matched for the time being. It was completely absurd, and Komer’s interest grew stronger. This once-in-a-lifetime spectacle was something he had stumbled upon. Perhaps even more wonderful events would occur in the future.

"Uh, Uma, it seems you’re in some trouble. The Saintess Miss is telling you not to indulge in wishful thinking; her body is very holy. How could you, an undead trash, commit such an ugly act?" Komer, with crossed arms, smiled as he ’criticized’ Uma, "Sigh, it appears your reputation in the heart of Saintess Miss is pretty bad. I suggest you should improve your image in her eyes. Maybe then the Saintess Miss will show you mercy and give you a chance."

Komer’s exaggerated mockery not only infuriated Iliana to the point of madness but also made Uma furiously angry.

"Trash! Scum! You shameless things! To think you are kingdom nobles, you are truly a demon!"

"Komer, are you mocking me? It seems like you’ve forgotten the promise you made to me!"

Two completely different voices came out of one mouth in turn, a scene akin to a ventriloquist’s act that opened Komer’s eyes wide. The girl’s pure and beautiful face, at times angry, at times contorted, unpredictable, made Komer even more eager to tease this unique being of a dual soul.

"Trash? Scum? Demon? Miss Iliana, the demon is already within, did you only realize now?" His voice suddenly turned extremely cold and severe, Komer’s sinister smile appeared even more hideous in Iliana’s eyes, "When your Church of Light decided to help that idiot Philip against me, you should have considered the consequences of failure. Did you really think your Church of Light was all-powerful?"

"Uma, you really disappoint me. I’ve warned you before not to be so arrogant. Hundreds of years have passed, clinging to old beliefs will lead to losses. It’s not so easy to subdue the people of the Church of Light. Now you’ve exposed your incompetence, but you want to blame me? How haven’t I kept my promise? I already handed over Saintess Iliana’s body to you when she was utterly defenseless. How could it have turned out like this? Wasn’t it you who refused my help to possess her body? I don’t think you can blame me for this." Faced with Uma, Komer gave a series of sly laughs, his expression changing several times in his joking rage, truly a bit of a strain, "Now, do you need my help? I have countless ways to deal with this kind of stuff, just a flick of the wrist."

The girl’s pale face at this moment probably still signified that Iliana was in control, her eyes filled with smoldering rage scorching Komer’s cheeks, but Komer didn’t care in the slightest; in fact, he even felt a kind of pleasure. Tormenting these self-righteous Light Saintesses brought great enjoyment to his spirit. Komer was no sadist, but he made an exception for members of the Church of Light.

"Demon, you’ll never succeed. Our Church of Light will soon send you dark scum scurrying for the shadows, reduced to ash and smoke. You will meet a grim end!"

The girl’s attempt at aggressive speech was truly lacking, offering nothing new. This made Komer quite disappointed with the Light Saintess’s eloquence. He enjoyed listening to his enemies curse him; their curses only proved his own power, and that was precisely his source of joy.

"Is that so? I’m so scared. Will Julius cast me into hell, or will Vazinsky send me to the Burning Stake? Or perhaps Noyola herself will personally execute me with due ceremony? I think I would prefer Frenster to sing a dirge for me!" Whistling derisively, Komer found that his mood was exceptionally good, so much so that he felt as if he were back in the wild and reckless life he had years ago in Cyprus, "I really look forward to it. Hell, my favorite—why has no one sent me on my way?!"

"Hee hee, Komer, you’re truly venomous. You’re going to drive her insane with the way you talk. I never knew you were so eloquent. I’m really so excited," Uma’s shrill voice evidenced that she’d once again wrested control of those cherry lips. Her words revealed a psyche even more twisted and dark than Komer’s, "Hey, is there any way to get her more riled up? I can feel her excitement growing stronger on her body."

"Is that so? I’m looking forward to it. As for the methods? Of course, we have plenty. Take it slow, no rush." Komer’s smile grew as he eyed her heaving chest, and once evil thoughts breached the gaps in the depths of the mind, they could no longer be suppressed; they swelled and expanded like inflating balloons. "I need to think hard about how to bring our dear Saintess Iliana to the height of excitement. Some people live their entire lives and are never treated to such an experience."

Vile, lewd words tumbled from Komer’s lips, nearly causing Iliana’s lungs to explode with indignation. This shameless creature dared to insult her with such filth right to her face, insulting a Light Saintess, most virginal and pure within the Holy Teaching. God of Light, have you truly lost your power, to stomach such a devil standing upon the earth?

Seeing Iliana’s slender body shivering slightly within the somewhat soiled white robe, Komer was in an even better mood. He hadn’t expected that this trip would bring such a pleasant surprise, making it entirely worthwhile. It seemed he had found another opportunity for amusement. Having a stubborn Light Saintess with a self-proclaimed purity as a plaything would certainly add many vivid colors to his life.

"Uma, it seems that your original power hasn’t fully recovered yet, or is this guy’s core of life too pure for you to permeate?" Komer ignored the girl who almost bit her lips in fury; he needed to understand the real situation. He had left this to Uma for over a month, just idling in the basement. If it were not for his servant’s timely delivery of food to her every day, who knew if the body could withstand the battle between the two souls without perishing.

The muscles on the girl’s face contorted again, clearly another struggle for control over her lips was underway, "Komer, both indeed. This one must have been brought up within the Church of Light since she was a child. Her innate light is so pure, it’s void of any impurities, almost dissolving my essence of darkness. It’s a pity that my body has sustained heavy damage; otherwise, I would also be able to slowly convert her innate heart into the essence of darkness."

"Hmph, all said and done, you’re just not powerful enough. Haven’t you always prided yourself on the boundlessness of your dark forces? And yet you can’t even handle this?" Komer scoffed mockingly, "I was expecting to see a being fused with complexity and contradictions, but instead I find this, a weird creature—quite disappointing indeed."

"Komer, stop your cold mockery. I need your help; you have to aid me in breaking down her mental barriers. Once her defenses crumble, I’m confident I can conquer her," perhaps due to the counterattacking girl, the tone of these words had started to shift.

"Dream on! The holiness of the innate light is not something you filth can defile. You think by capturing my body, you can achieve your vile ends. What a colossal joke!" The girl’s face finally regained its composure, those disdainful eyes clear and untelling, emanating a gentle holy aura that trickled through her gaze, adding a vivid and lively touch to the dreary secret room. Even Komer had to admit that this Saintess of the Bright Holy Teaching did indeed possess some skill. Despite Uma’s injuries and three hundred years of cultivation, something ordinary individuals couldn’t withstand, they’ve now found themselves in an awkward predicament. This alone was testament to the girl’s exceptional nature. (To be continued. For further developments, please visit www.qidian.com.
