Chapter 681: Volume Nineteen: Lost Horizon Chapter Ten: Group Sentiment

Magic was swiftly conveyed by Eve, who had been staying in the Caucasus, and those who had received Eve’s magical transmission immediately returned at the fastest speed from their wanderings in the Cordillera Wilderness in search of the Wicked Dragon’s Nest.

The Wicked Dragon’s range of activity was simply too vast, and with the Baden Gold Mountain Range’s peaks and precipices aplenty, finding the exact location of the Wicked Dragon’s nest among these cliffs was like looking for a needle in a haystack, unless the dragon’s tracks were first discovered. Recently, it seemed as if the Wicked Dragon had disappeared in the Baden Gold Mountain Range and was frolicking in the Nether Sea instead, rendering the formidable force gathered to doom the Wicked Dragon utterly useless.

The dramatic changes in the Caucasus were not entirely unforeseen by everyone—at least the other two Guardian Mage Kings of Dark Holy Church had a vague premonition. As the sovereign entrusted with the revival of the Dark Holy Church, Komer had long been marked with the Mind Attraction Mark, a unique mental magic spell by Xerob. Although it didn’t grant complete knowledge of Komer’s whereabouts, the mark always provided timely feedback to the caster when something urgent occurred, which Xerob believed Komer must also feel, though neither of them explicitly pointed it out.

The disorder within Damarlinsk Castle filled everyone with righteous indignation. The Church of Light Religious Tribunal might be an absolute authority that those living in the mortal world dare not defy, but to the mighty combination made up of Puppet Mages, Dark Knights, Dark Devotees as well as Sleeping Undead and Ice Dragons, it was only a challenging opponent at best. The Tribunal’s power was indeed mighty, but not enough to make this group flee. Even if their strength was unmatched, such blatant provocation was intolerable to this assembly of dark remnants and heretics.

For Uma, who had no reservations, this blunt hit ignited her fury. She was still counting on the heir to the Dark Dynasty to find her a more wonderful body to reshape herself. Although the male body she was currently possessing was quite perfect, the gender difference always made her somewhat uncomfortable. This direct attack was utterly infuriating.

"Hmph, what are you thinking about? What else is there to think? It must be those damned Light zealots’ doing. Half-Beastmen kid, you’re right, they must have kidnapped Komer. We have no choice but to fight tooth and nail, and strike back!"

The sinister and dark voice echoed in the room. Only this person of unknown origin dared to call the Judges of the Tribunal thugs. This designation sent a chill down Eve’s spine—who were these people anyway? She couldn’t see through any of them. They each had their own secret techniques to shield their minds, making it impossible for her to understand their innermost secrets. Certainly, they couldn’t be indigenous to the Caucasus. How did Komer come to associate with such an odd and varied bunch of strangers?

Being called a Half-Beastmen kid made Maha Gummi feel uncomfortable, but glancing at the other’s expressionless face and his deep, dark gaze sent an icy chill through Maha Gummi. He knew full well that his master’s friends were exceptional individuals with earth-shattering capabilities; in their presence, he felt as fragile as an ant.

"Mr. Uma, the situation is not so simple. The Church of Light’s power is far greater than we know, and just Noyola and Lorenzo alone have already reached the level of Great Mages. The Holy City of Bright Holy Teaching, with Marco as its Pope, is also teeming with strong individuals, and either of the two bishops, Frenster or Vazinsky, could easily deal with someone of my caliber. I may be confident, but I am also self-aware; with abilities like Frenster’s or Vazinsky’s, at least three mages of my level could be subdued. Their Light Magic has reached the pinnacle, and Noyola and Lorenzo are certainly not much less powerful. Moreover, they are surrounded by many powerful individuals, almost each with a prowess comparable to those of us present."

Mihailovich spoke gravely, "Furthermore, there’s the Pope of Light, who has not made a public appearance in a long time. He is like a godlike figure, whose level of power is beyond our comprehension. One thing is certain, he is definitely beyond the realm of Great Mage. As to whether he has the power of a Holy Mage, we can’t know."

"Are you suggesting that all of us here stand no chance against those people from the Church of Light?" Uma nearly ground her teeth as she forced the words out through clenched teeth, her sinister tone sending shivers down one’s spine.

"Mr. Uma, I have to admit that your magic power and skills are quite remarkable, but don’t underestimate the Church of Light. They have dominated the Continent for hundreds of years, and it’s certainly not by luck. Excuse me for being blunt, but even with your power, you might be able to match up to the leaders of the Tribunal, yet I don’t think you have the ability to overcome the two bishops," Mihailovich did not flinch at the other’s chilly tone. As a fellow member of the Dark World, although Mihailovich didn’t know Uma’s true identity, Uma’s soul transference technique could not deceive him.

"Mr. Mihailovich, while the Church of Light’s power is formidable, it is not unchallengeable or insurmountable. In the northern parts of the Continent, they might dominate unopposed, with no one daring to confront them, but in the vast South, they struggle to survive, tails between their legs. Do you think it’s because they don’t want to cross the boundary between North and South? No, it’s not like that." Xerob had to interject at this point; if these people planted in their minds that the Church of Light was invincible, it would affect many potential future events. He wouldn’t tolerate such a thing.

"Oh? Do you think there are individuals in the South capable of challenging the strong ones of the Church of Light?" Mihailovich asked with a faint smile, clearly aware that the person before him was somehow linked with the Dark Forces of the South, although he didn’t know their origins or have much interest in finding out. This group had come together because of Komer, and with Komer missing, whether this coalition could sustain itself was uncertain for Mihailovich.

"Mr. Mihailovich, what do you think? Do you suppose they don’t want to spread the glory of their so-called Holy Teaching to every corner of the Continent?" Shaking his head, Xerob’s genteel countenance overshadowed the profound darkness in his eyes, "They don’t have that power yet. There are still those in this world who they fear, they are not omnipotent."

Mihailovich nodded thoughtfully but said no more. He did not wish to argue further about this matter with the other party. At least he understood the true power of the Church of Light, but he was also looking forward to finding out just how powerful the forces of the Dark World really were.

"What exactly are you arguing about?" Shatima’s furious roar rose, "Is now the time to debate how powerful the Church of Light is? The urgent issue we need to resolve is to find Komer. Whether or not he was taken by those people from the Tribunal, that is what we need to ascertain. Once we’ve confirmed his whereabouts, then we can make our next move. If he’s truly done for, then what are we still doing here? We might as well disperse and each go our own way."

"Miss Shatima, according to our astrological remote sensing observations, Lord Komer doesn’t seem to have been captured by the people from the Tribunal. His current state is very mysterious, and we’re unable to determine his situation for the time being. However, he appears to be in a southeast direction from us, quite a far distance from the Caucasus," replied Xerob slowly and forcefully, surprising everyone.

"Are you saying Komer wasn’t kidnapped by the Tribunal? Can you be certain?" Uma’s eyes flashed as she stared fixedly at the other.

"I cannot be sure of his exact location, but I can confirm he is to the southeast of our current position, alive but with vital signs that are very vague and difficult to discern. The distance from here is quite considerable, at least over three thousand miles," Xerob answered calmly.

"Three thousand miles? How is that possible? How could he possibly be three thousand miles away in three days? Unless he can fly!" Shatima also looked incredulous.

"No, it’s not that he can fly. If Mr. Xerob’s astrological readings are still accurate, then the only possibility is that he has been sent into a Different World Space," Uma said in a low voice, her intuition and premonitions having already told her that this young man, who inherited Emperor Kennifer’s dark power, was destined to face a calamity. Only after overcoming this calamity would he truly inherit all of Emperor Kennifer’s power. However, what this calamity really entailed was unknown to Uma, and Xerob’s words were like a light suddenly illuminating the darkness in her heart.

"A Different World Space? Oh, how can he ever come back?" Almost everyone jumped at the mention, Different World Space? This term was unfamiliar and frightening. Perhaps it lies just by one’s side, step in and one could walk out again, or perhaps it is sealed off in a different world, unreachable and with no hope of return. Everyone knew that this term represented uncertainty and the unknown, and a probability that was almost infinitesimally small.

"If he was truly sealed into a Different World Space by someone from within the Church of Light, then all our efforts are in vain. Even the people from the Tribunal don’t know what a Different World Space really entails, or it might just be said to represent a long-term or even permanent disappearance. We cannot pin our hopes on this," Newman concluded dismally. As a Mechanism Magician who had a considerable understanding of the Different World Space, Newman certainly had the most authority to speak, "All we can do is wait and pray, praying for a miracle to happen."

Everyone fell silent.

Where is Komer now? And what is he doing?
