Chapter 550: Volume 13: Sea Rain and Sky Wind, Chapter 20: Naked Dragon
As Hayreddin’s footsteps faded into the distance, Komer’s magical incantation had reached its zenith, and faint sounds of Yin thunder were already rolling in the air. The moment the Ice Dragon’s breath appeared, the "Hammer of Thor" would reign supreme over the land.
For the Dragon Clan, thunder-based Magic was undeniably the most lethal. Any kind of dragon would have to submit and avoid it when faced with this divine power from the heavens. They might not fear any Elemental Magic, but such a godly force, originating from yet surpassing Elemental Magic, wasn’t something even the mightiest of dragons could withstand.
But although the faint dragon’s breath filled the air, Komer had yet to spot the Ice Dragon. Given its character, it seemed unlikely that it would stay hidden for so long. Faced with Komer alone, the Ice Dragon should have naturally shown its might. Unless there was one possibility: perhaps the Ice Dragon, just as initially speculated, was not only wounded by the Twin Sages of Wisdom but had also fallen for the Jellyfish People’s Dragon Saliva Fragrance and lacked the strength to attack.
The thought made Komer’s heart flutter with eager anticipation. Capturing or killing such an Ice Dragon would bring unimaginable benefits. Dragon Crystals, Dragon Skin, Dragon Tendons, Dragon Blood—every part of a dragon was a supreme treasure, especially for Magicians and Tool Masters, they were truly exotic materials from heaven.
Using materials from a dragon’s body to create Magic tools was an unthinkable luxury for any Tool Master. Every Mage yearned for a Magical Instrument or Sacred Artifact crafted from dragon materials, the highest of indulgences for Magicians, rivaling even those legendary ancient Divine Artifacts. The formidable Dragon Power would exponentially enhance the efficacy of the Magic tools, and even a drop of Dragon Blood had extraordinary uses.
Summoning his Magical Instrument for reconnaissance, Komer’s Spiritual Sense was at its peak performance, its unlimited perception spreading in all directions. The cold presence originated from the front right, where there seemed to be a colossal release of ice energy—the characteristic feature of an Ice Dragon. Komer’s mind was still reciting the spell for thunder-based Magic, ready to unleash it in the shortest possible time. After all, he was about to face a dragon, a renowned Ice Dragon, not some lowly Earthwalking Dragon or Turtle Dragon, but a true dragon capable of stirring endless waves.
Gently pushing aside the Reed Wild Grass in front of him, the ground was quite damp, a unique feature of the Swamp Area. In the distance, one could faintly hear the waves lapping against the shores of the River Heart State. Komer shuddered from the waves of cold. What was the Ice Dragon up to? Was it really taking a nap here as suggested by the Jellyfish People?
The green reed stalks were covered in white frost, and even the air radiated waves of ice mist. It must be nearby. Komer grew more anxious. The Thunder Finger Arrow in his left hand, a lower-level yet quite effective thunder-based Magic, was ready. The moment the Ice Dragon appeared, it would at least momentarily halt its fierce attack, buying time for the "Hammer of Thor." The "Sky Demon Cover" was already operating at its limit, but Komer wasn’t sure it could withstand a blow from an enraged Ice Dragon.
To any Mage who saw, using the Black Crystal Staff to push aside the reeds would seem like an unforgivable act of waste, but Komer could no longer afford such considerations. The immense dragon’s breath informed him that the Ice Dragon lay ahead, surrounded by a thicket of reeds on the riverbank. It no longer mattered why the dragon had chosen this place; what mattered was the current state of the Ice Dragon.
What lay before Komer was both disappointing and surprising. Instead of the Ice Dragon he had expected, there was only a naked woman lying on a bed of reed leaves, posed in an exceedingly lascivious manner. Despite the alluring sight, Komer had little interest in admiration; his life was at stake. The absence of the Ice Dragon meant a flaw in his judgment, but the unmistakable dragon’s breath couldn’t fool Komer. Where was the creature hiding? Could this be a trap set by the Ice Dragon?
Expanding his Magical Instrument for sensing once again, Komer anxiously surveyed his surroundings. The hand holding the Black Crystal Staff was now sweaty, and the Thunder Finger Arrow between his fingers glowed faintly, almost ready to be unleashed at a thought. But without a target for his thunder-based Magic, where would he cast the Thunder Finger Arrow? Surely not at this naked woman lying on the ground?
Once again, his Magical Instrument for sensing told Komer that there was no other object imbued with dragon’s breath within at least a kilometer, except for the naked woman before him, who seemed still to be sound asleep, undisturbed by anything around her. Confused yet somewhat relieved, Komer exhaled; as long as this wasn’t a trap set by the Ice Dragon, the situation was much better. That is, unless this was some form of seduction strategy.
What was going on? An idea crossed Komer’s mind, triggering a memory related to the Dragon Clan.
It seemed that in Kennifer III’s recollections, there was mention that some dragons, when severely injured and with greatly diminished Dragon Power, could lose the ability to present themselves in their powerful dragon form and instead take on the appearance of other races. Being the spiritual pinnacle of all beings on the Continent, the Dragon Clan was undoubtedly the most powerful in individual strength. Aside from the numerically dominant Human Clan, it seemed no race could threaten the safety of the Dragon Clan, which indeed had the habit of assuming human forms. Could this naked woman be the wounded Ice Dragon?
Swallowing hard, Komer had to admit this woman was the most seductive and distinctly feminine creature he had ever seen among women. Compared to this woman before him, Grace, Eve, Lome, and Tracy were merely unripe apples, their bodily features paling in comparison to the perfect embodiment presented by this woman—Komer’s sole exclamation in his heart.
