Chapter 546: Volume 13: Sea Rain and Sky Wind, Chapter 16: Boundless Spring Colors

Perhaps the Caucasus is their best destination, only here can I truly ensure their safety. Komer did not wish for the woman he liked and his companions to undertake such meaningless adventures and make pointless sacrifices. Justice and fairness also need the guarantee of strength before they can be manifested and upheld; otherwise, they are nothing but dust beneath the feet of power. Perhaps they did not fully understand this principle, but Komer had a deep understanding of it.

A series of light footsteps slowly approached from the Food Package. Komer speculated who it could be. It could not be Grace or Finitz—those two walked like gusty winds and sudden storms, certainly not with such ladylike grace. The only possibilities were Eve and Mage Lome. Eve would not choose this time to find him. Although she had accepted his proposal, she needed to maintain an attitude of moving forward or retreating together with her companions, and as a result, she had become more distant from him than before, much to Komer’s disappointment.

Just as Komer had expected, when that familiar faint fragrance approached, Komer, who had his eyes closed to feign sleep, knew that the woman by his side was none other than his Taboo—the Light Mage of the Bright Holy Teaching, Mage Lome. Seemingly unconcerned about being noticed, Mage Lome still maintained the mage’s inherent composure and elegance in public, dressed in her white robe and plain skirt. Except for a hint of charm in her gaze that only Komer could detect, even Rebry couldn’t perceive what had happened to this Light Mage.

But in private, Mage Lome’s demure charm allowed Komer to experience a pleasure he had not felt in years. The delight of such a taboo rendezvous, filled with the thrill of challenging moral boundaries, made it irresistible to let go.

The Light Mage, the Protector of the Faith of the Bright Holy Teaching—just thinking about this sacred title, one would assume it belongs in the serious and solemn Church, listening to their teachings and baptisms, cleansing every corner of one’s soul, bathing in the Heavenly Holy Light. Oh, what a noble and revered act! Yet, such a Light Mage, admired by thousands, is moaning tenderly, living for you, dying for you, at your mercy. The contrast and the discrepancy of it all are enough to damn one to hell, yet Komer was utterly infatuated with this sensation.

Although there had been no opportunity since that first time, the inadvertent touch of bodies and the collision of gazes always ignited an endless spark of desire deep within Komer’s heart, and he believed that Mage Lome felt the same. This sensation scorched and grilled him, leaving him like a parched piece of mud, desperately in need of the nourishment of rain and dew.

With a soft grunt, Lome had already fallen into Komer’s arms. At this moment, she had lost her usual reserve and indifference. Her face, flushed with the spirit of spring, made her cheeks pink and lustrous. Her dark eyes were at times clear, at times confused, but that deep joy was undeniable.

The instant Lome leaped into his embrace with a gentle pull at his wrist, Komer felt an indescribable exhilaration. The Great Swamp Area seemed to have become his natural haven, this trip a tremendous success. Now seemed like the perfect time for him to celebrate his own victories. The gap in the Food Package at the stern of the ship was very secluded, with the sailors resting at the bow. The barrier had been raised, and unless Rebry intentionally disturbed them, no one would discover the two of them.

Her jade-like face, lightly furrowed brows, and the lightly panting pink lips augmented Komer’s impulse, and he pressed upon her cherry-red lips without hesitation, pulling her slight body into his arms as if they were one.

The warm Sunshine and pervasive breezes were the best companions and audience for this frenzied couple, and in the height of excitement, even Komer’s consciousness experienced a moment of dizziness. Kennifer III’s memories once again surged through Komer’s Brain, chaotic fragments fluttering in his mind—the secret of the treasure, the Great War between humans and demons, courtly debauchery, Different World battles, the battle at life’s end. It seemed the most profound Chapters and sections of Kennifer III’s memories had finally opened up to Komer.

Komer realized that these scenes were the most precious bequest Kennifer III had left him, memories he had never accessed through the Crystal stone before; now that its Power had been exhausted, he could no longer gain insights from the now-ordinary Magic Crystal stone. And now, Komer sensed that he might have found another key to unlocking the treasure trove of Kennifer III’s memories. He did not know if the next joyous journey would bring him such an adventure.
