Chapter 419: Volume 8 Gathering of the Storms Chapter 9 Puppet Mage_3
Mr. Mihailovich’s eyes flashed with stars, a Mud Giant Demon? Oh, this Lord indeed is not ordinary. The upper-tier Earth Magic came to him effortlessly, as light as a feather which truly had the air of despising the world. It seemed he would have to show some real skills to truly impress this Baron Lord.
A faint smile curled up at the corner of his mouth, his gaze firm. The Magic Wand he had prepared was already raised high pointing to the sky. The Slender Mage’s face was solemn, and his deep voice echoed in the empty field, "Borrow the wishes of the gods, give me the power of the starry sky! Go!"
The sky suddenly darkened, a strong spatial distortion spun around Komer, even the robust "Holy Starshine" Light Shield gradually faded in front of this massive twisting force. His own creation, the Mud Giant Demon, only managed to take a step before it crumbled to dust and was gone with the wind under this immense power.
As the bizarre force of distortion approached, Komer had already applied Acceleration Spells consecutively on himself, moving extensively to avoid the central strike zone of the Starry Sky Attack Magic, while he also struck back without showing any weakness with two consecutive high-level Thunder Magics—Hammer of Thor.
The sky roared with thunderous storms, the vast thunder and lightning shrouded around the Slender Mage. Bright arcs swept across the sky, rolling clouds tumbled with the looming shadow of the Thunder God within, the head continually morphing with visions, thunder cracking explosively.
The serious-faced Slender Mage had already summoned three Magic Puppet Men. The Puppets floated in the air using Wind System Magic, attracting the bombardment of the Thunder God’s power. When two Puppets turned to fragments under the relentless assault, the shadow of the Thunder God gradually faded, and the sky regained its color.
"Impressive skills!" Komer couldn’t help but exclaim loudly.
The only thing he was proud of in his half-year of hard practice of thunder-based Magic had been dissolved so casually by his opponent, and Komer never thought that apart from withstanding and dodging, Thunder Magic could be diverted using Puppets. It was apparent that the opponent had not used full force; the casually summoned three Puppets were clearly not of high quality, otherwise, he wouldn’t have released three at once.
However, the skeleton warriors still on the alert were quite the characters; even under the full force of his "Sky Light Crossing Magic," they were only marked with a few imprints on their bones. Moreover, Komer clearly noticed that as the opponent’s Necromantic Aura grew stronger, those imprints gradually faded away without a trace.
"Lord Sir is impressive too. I’m very curious how you manage to coexist dark power with Holy Power. As far as I know, it’s not impossible for both light and dark kinds of Magic power to exist in one person, but like the ’Sky Light Crossing Magic’ you displayed earlier, it is already a sub-high-level Light System Divine Magic, which is absolutely impossible for a mage who possesses the power of darkness. Could it be that what Rebry told me wasn’t true?"
The Slender Mage was indeed puzzled. The few spells cast earlier had nothing to do with darkness or Necromancy; they were either Light Series Magic or Elemental Magic, or they were neutral auxiliary Magic. This was vastly different from what Rebry had described, which naturally surprised the Slender Mage.
"Mr. Mihailovich, there is nothing impossible in this world. Many things do not show their true nature at first glance, like the Light Series Magic and Elemental Magic I demonstrated to you. These are not anything special. The true origin of Magic power, whether light or darkness, who can hastily define it? All these require infinite effort to explore, and at least I believe that nobody can easily make definitive statements now."
Such ambiguous and equivocal words made the Slender Mage feel as if he had grasped the truth yet understood nothing. Komer needed this effect: not to outright reject the other party, causing suspicion, nor to reveal his true details directly. Letting the other hesitate and ponder in the chaos was exactly what Komer wanted to achieve.
A duel initially thought to be a fierce struggle ended in an anticlimactic draw, disappointing the Mages and Dark Knights who were ready to witness a great battle from afar. However, even with just a few moves, the Slender Mage’s profound expertise in Puppetry was evident. Komer’s vast and varied Magic Skills also left them with their tongues wagging, with the seemingly effortless conversion between Elemental Magic Powers alone not something just any mage could achieve.
Komer was equally interested in the Puppetry Mr. Mihailovich had displayed. The purpose of exchange was to learn and inspire each other and to improve mutually. Mr. Mihailovich’s curiosity about Komer’s Light System Divine Magic became the basis for Komer to exchange secrets of Puppetry. The two quickly became confidants in the world of magic.
Mr. Mihailovich was much more straightforward than Rebry, the old fox. Komer gained a lot from him, and in return, he reservedly shared his insights into the Conversion of Magical Properties, how much the other party could benefit from it was not for Komer to consider.
