Chapter 246: Chapter 10: Counterattack_2

As Balmore pursued the two shadows that streaked through his encampment like lightning, easily weaving through the encirclement, it became clear that the abilities of the two shadows far surpassed both his own and Baron Haranto’s. The shadows merged and separated fleetingly; it seemed that with each lunge, two or three high-level warriors fell beneath their spears. These fallen were the elite of his army, each capable of filling the role of a Centurion. Yet in the face of the two shadows, the defense line formed by these highly skilled high-level warriors seemed as fragile as paper.

Solonberg’s impatience grew. The tenacious strength and fearless spirit of these damned warriors indeed surprised both him and Vladimir Koff. However, this did not stop their joint surprise attack. The only annoyance was that killing off the opposition with their speed advantage felt painfully slow. Meanwhile, the two enemies at their rear, now strong enough to fight, hadn’t managed to pose a substantial threat, but they tirelessly shadowed them, seemingly waiting for the moment they exhausted themselves before striking a final blow—a naively optimistic notion.

Exchanging glances with Vladimir Koff as they brushed past each other, both men shot up into the sky in unison, exposing the two foes who had been closely pursuing them. Switching positions, Solonberg and Vladimir Koff simultaneously struck hard. The tips of their knight spears flashed ominously dark energy, causing one’s pupils to contract forcefully. Haranto’s heart sank; he could tell just from the dark flash on the opposing knight spear tip what level of force was behind the attack, but at that moment he had no room to maneuver and clenched his teeth, raising his own knight spear to meet the onslaught.

As the two knight spears collided, like a severed kite, the Baron’s body spun out in a dramatic arc. Despite his efforts to stabilize midair, the severe damage the strike had inflicted made it impossible. Fortunately, several soldiers rushed to his aid, catching the Baron in time. The sheer kinetic force, even weakened by the Baron’s strength, still forced three of the warriors who caught him to vomit blood and collapse. But at least they saved the Baron’s life.

Baron Haranto, cunningly aware of the dire situation as soon as the two Dark Knights switched places and took to the sky, realized too late to evade. Suppressing his fear, he reduced the force in his knight spear while focusing his primary energy on his own physique. Wood Defense Magic and an Evasion Technique filled his being. As his knight spear was blasted away, Haranto’s body drifted sideways, a jet of blood spraying from his mouth. But from the way he landed, it was evident he managed to steady himself.

Vladimir Koff had to admire the guile of his opponent; there had been hardly any force in the fellow’s knight spear. His own full-force strike felt as if it had hit thin air, and while the burst of Fighting Qi still inflicted substantial damage, it was not the decisive contact he had anticipated. Compared to the brash fool who had faced off against Solonberg, this man might outwardly appear dimmed, but Vladimir Koff knew his vitals remained largely unscathed.

As the two Dark Knights launched their sudden attack, the Magicians hidden among the Half-Beastmen Armaments also began to unleash the magic they had long prepared. To achieve a swift and decisive victory, Komer and Rebury joined forces to activate a predesigned Magic Array – "Thunder Shock." A thunder-based Magic Array, it required tremendous magic power to activate and a significant reserve of Elemental Magic Power to maintain. Alone, neither Komer nor Rebury could execute this grand Magic Array; their only option was to join forces.

Dense clouds blanketed the sky in seconds, the churning vapor rolling like a tumultuous ocean. Komer, having already taken two doses of Stimulant, pushed his potential to the limit after harnessing Magic Crystal power, along with Rebury’s assistance in using the Black Crystal Token and his expertise in bolstering magic with auxiliary spells. With combined efforts, "Thunder Shock," a majestic integrated Magic Array of the thunder-based school, surged forth with full force.

Almost everyone watched in terror as the overwhelming clouds descended, enveloping the sky. Even Magicians who had narrowly escaped death were so transfixed by the event that they stared blankly at the heavens, forgetting their peril. The clouds roiled and parted, revealing a crack through which an enormous foot, akin to an ancient tree, emerged. Soon after, the silhouette of the Thunder God came into view, his massive hands clad in dark luster and adorned with splendid silver rings, now looking utterly fearsome. Sparks flitted across the beautifully crafted mallets he wielded. As the Thunder God’s vague yet ferocious face finally positioned itself atop the clouds, "Thunder Shock," the comprehensive Magic Array, was ready to unleash its might.
