Chapter 231: Chapter 4: Treasure Storage_2
It was a woman’s brassiere, a pure white silk brassiere, but embroidered in the center was a nude seraph soaring into the sky—proof of her identity, a unique symbol of the Church of Light. Perhaps others could adeptly utilize Light Magic, but only important figures within the Church would have a seraph embroidered on their personal garments.
"Is she the Light Saintess of the Church of Light?!" Nearly everyone’s gaze darkened. If even the Church’s Saintess was deployed to infiltrate their adventuring party, it meant they had become a thorn in the Church’s side, and escaping their pursuit would be difficult for the rest of their lives.
"No, do you really think the Light Saintess of the Church of Light would only be of this caliber? Although her Mana and Magic are undeniably powerful and extraordinary, they are still quite far from the level we imagine for the Light Saintess. If she truly were the Light Saintess, could we still be standing here so calmly?" Komer shook his head.
"Hmm, the true strength of the Light Saintess should indeed be beyond this, but this woman must also be an important figure within the Church. Aside from the several Knights regiments, only the male Magicians make public appearances. I have some recollection of the eminent Female Knights within the Church, and she isn’t one of them. Moreover, given her display of skills, her Magic Skills far surpass her Martial arts; she must be one of the Mages. However, the Church has many branches and the Female Mages often hide their true identities and rarely venture out, making it hard for us to ascertain her identity," Rebry agreed with Komer’s assessment. It was clear to him that everyone present wouldn’t stand a chance against the might of the Light Saintess.
"Alright, leave it to me. I believe we have ways to make her reveal everything we want to know, but not now. With the internal threat eliminated, it seems time for us to see what rewards Mr. Newman’s hard work has earned us, right?" Komer stood up, shifting everyone’s attention back to the secret chamber. The triple Dark Binding that penetrated deep into the bones left the Mysterious Magician on the ground completely powerless to resist, and the paralyzing effect of Komer’s thunder-based Magic ensured the Magician couldn’t move for at least two hours.
What a dazzling and bewitching scene it was! When the secret door slowly opened with Newman’s spellcasting, the sight that unveiled itself to the breath-holding group was enough to drive one mad with desire!
"Oh! What is that?! An Aladdin Token?! Pyrros’ Map?! I can’t believe my eyes! Sir, is this real? I swear by Hades’ name, this is the most splendid sight I’ve ever beheld in my life!" The normally composed Rebry was now prostrate before a say, upon which lay a pure Black Crystal Token, resting as if it had slumbered for a hundred years. Next to it, a wooden box carved with strange characters beckoned, and Rebry almost pressed his face against the wooden box, murmuring as if in a trance.
"This, this, this, this is a miracle! Pavaro star arithmetic?! No one can take it from me!" The first to step into the secret chamber was naturally Newman, whose gaze had been firmly captured by a thick volume on a row of shelves, unconcerned with potential dangers, he lunged forward to grab the book, kissing it while flipping through the pages, his eyes so immersed as if to forget everything else, "Oh, my God, it’s true, this is all too wonderful."
The Puppet Mage’s attention was completely captured by a Metal Magic Doll placed in the corner. He moved quickly towards it, hesitating to approach, merely gazing with adoration and fascination at the dull yet sometimes glinting Doll. Finally, the Puppet Mage kneeled on one knee, caressing each joint of the Doll with trembling hands, intently observing every vital point before pressing a finger into the Doll’s eyes. With a "click," the Doll’s head sprang open, revealing a glistening Magic Crystal Stone, "A masterpiece, indeed a masterpiece. To see it is to die without regrets!"
Komer, who had quietly observed all this, couldn’t help but shake his head with a wry, almost laugh-inducing smile. These people were just too obsessed; mere possessions had them making a spectacle of themselves, betraying the composed demeanor of Magicians. The two Dark Knights were no better—one fondling a dull, unremarkable long sword on the Weapon Rack with utter fascination, while the other caressed a Silver Shining Armor on a wooden model warrior. Clearly, neither item was ordinary, or they wouldn’t have elicit such a reaction.
The envious murmurs within the secret chamber continued for who knows how long before Komer couldn’t take it anymore, clearing his throat harshly to snap everyone out of their daze. Seeing everyone looking somewhat sheepish for their lack of composure, Komer held back his urge to burst out laughing and finally spoke with deliberate slowness, "Gentlemen, it appears our adventure has finally yielded some rewards. Judging by your expressions, it seems everyone has found the very thing they admire most. As the master of Damarlinsk Castle, I am grateful for your assistance, and we have achieved some of our goals with this expedition. Although our main objective remains unfulfilled, we still have plenty of time, and perhaps our next adventure will bring us even more treasures."
