Chapter 1042: Volume 33, Where to Go, Chapter 29, The Battle that Sways the City (12)

Komer’s enchantingly charming smile appeared so eerie, as he weighed the strength of his side against that of his opponents. Without a doubt, Caesar and Noyola were the most formidable pairing, and even with Mihailovich and Shatima on his side, it was uncertain whether they could withstand them. Releasing the Bear might not improve the situation much; the best-case scenario would be a stalemate, and that was assuming Caesar’s strength did not exceed Komer’s estimates.

The combat prowess of the two Sky-level Saint Knights behind Caesar was clearly a notch above the previous pair. Quintana and Hume’s Fighting Qi had gone from solid to ethereal, almost imperceptible compared to Hilton and Macroni. However, this signified their Fighting Qi had reached a higher level.

Vladimir Koff, along with Jack and the other three Dark Knights from the South, might barely be able to contend with Quintana. But what of the Eagle of Basarabia and his two companions? Could they hold off the knight Hume?

These calculations flashed briefly through Komer’s mind, and he knew he could not delay any longer. Should his side show the slightest weakness, Frenster and Vazinsky would surely join the fray without a moment’s hesitation, and everything would become uncontrollable.

A super-powerful high-level enhancement spell was Komer’s answer, declaring the outbreak of full-scale war in this somewhat cunning manner.

He had no choice. Uma’s complexion had proven the stir of enlightenment deep within him was dwindling; the black fog had thinned to the point where summoning a decent skeleton warrior took half a day, and even those that emerged were remarkably weaker than the previous skeleton warriors. This was an ominous sign.

The deployment of the high-tier enhancement spell signified the official commencement of a full-scale war. The fierce Astral Holy Flame soared into the sky in an instant, like a red sun emerging from the clouds to release all its power, bathing the entirety of Damarlinsk Castle in golden sunlight. The entire Obelisk Square seemed to be enduring the tremendous luminary pressure brought about by the skill, Noyola’s strongest expertise—to hold back now would be a crime against herself.

Komer, not waiting for the high-level dark enhancement spell to fully unleash, was rapidly chanting a spell. At this moment, whoever could exhibit all their strength in the shortest time would seize the initiative.

The golden figure materialized out of thin air, its agile body seeming to traverse from a Different Space. Its eerie and somber eyes scanned for a target, and upon locking with Komer’s gaze, it sprang forth like a spring, leaping the dozen-meter distance in the blink of an eye, landing lightly before Komer.

A look of profound depth was released in Komer’s serene gaze, all commands contained within that glance. A breathtaking rebound leap ensued, the golden figure soared into the sky, executing an unimaginable pirouette, and the two stilettos whipped up two whirls of light attacking Noyola, who was in the midst of empowering her Astral Holy Flame magic.

Shatima too, at the very first instance, roared as he surged forward. His massive Dragon Spear stirred up waves of shadow thunder, scraping off a layer of stone powder from the bluestone ground. The Ice Dragon Yuan Force’s enraged approach made half the space blur due to the rapid compression.

Facing the sudden attack from the Golden Corpse Assassin, Noyola remained indifferent, focusing solely on stimulating her magic power with all her heart and soul, pushing the power of the Holy Flame of the Blue Sky to its ultimate limit, fully prepared to perish together with the enemy.

Komer stood motionless, his sight fixed on every move of Caesar, but his mouth and hands never ceased for a moment.

A series of gestures coupled with the intricate spell were continuously released; one spell after another was cast in an extremely short period of time. This was the first time he had cast spells with such high efficiency. The succession of spells caused a hollow pain in Komer’s brain, a negative effect brought on by the too rapid consumption of magic power. Even with the unparalleled strength of Kennifer III, it was hard to bear the burden of casting so many high-level spells in such a brief time.

A long and plain flow of magic power slowly infused into Komer’s body. Komer, of course, knew the source of this power. He did not want Lome to get involved. Though with Lome’s strength she was fully qualified to join this battle, Komer did not want Lome to face the idols she once revered. No matter how this battle ended, it would plunge the former Guardian Saintess into the torment of ideological struggle.

Mihailovich seemed to have made up his mind as two differently characterized Metal Magic Dolls finally revealed themselves to the world.

One was tall and mighty, with steady and powerful steps. Each of its two arms ended in five metal spikes, each with a different shape: some like coiled springs, some like flails with chains, some like sharp blades, and some like unevenly placed spikes. The other was much more petite and agile, with movements that were light and eerie, wielding two sharp spade-like triangular blades with the ability to chop, shave, slash, and stab as if they were soul-reaping signboards.

The latter was undoubtedly an improved version of Mihailovich’s earlier work—besides adding special Magic Metal to the joints to enhance their protection and wear resistance, Mihailovich clearly also invested considerable effort into the speed and frequency of the Puppet’s movements.

As for the overwhelmingly mighty Magic Doll warrior, it was the fruit of Mihailovich’s half-year of intensive toil. The refinement of the Magic Metal all over its body and the Magic Crystal from Wisdom Warcraft alone caused no small amount of his hair to fall out. Compared with the former Metal Magic Doll, this later Magic Doll warrior was unparalleled in both intelligence and combat power.

Caesar finally laughed. This was the kind of battle that had meaning. The opponent had clearly laid all their cards out, but it was not enough. He wanted to gradually squeeze everything out of his current opponent until they fell into complete despair after exhausting all their tricks. He wanted to engrave the memory of this battle of despair forever in the opponent’s mind. Only then would his long journey here not be in vain.

Komer fixed his gaze on Caesar until the opponent’s hand gently stroked the Knight Spear that had been resting beside him on the green stone slab; only then did he breathe a sigh of relief. If, under these circumstances, the opponent still did not consider using a weapon, he really had no choice but to withdraw from this decisive battle of fate.
