The Vampire King's Possession
Chapter 652: Not Enough

Chapter 652: Not Enough

"Mauve," Mill cried, rushing to her as she sat on the ground. "I knew something was wrong."

"Get Jael," Mauve blurted out. She looked up at Mill, and the vampire froze.

"Let me at least help you into bed," Mill said and started closing the gap again.

"Don’t worry," Mauve cried. "I should be able to hold out until he comes. Please, just go get him."

"How do you feel exactly? Are you in pain?" Mill asked.

"Mill, your questions aren’t helping." Mauve grabbed her abdomen tighter. "And no, it’s not pain. It’s hard to explain how I feel." Her eyes were watering at this point.

Mill nodded and rushed to the door, leaving Mauve on the ground. The vampire quickly made her way to the staircase and the front doors. The guards, seeing she was in a hurry, didn’t say a single word to her; they just bowed and pulled the doors open.

Mill stepped out into the night air but couldn’t pick out any sounds. She turned to the guards, who were still by the doors holding them open. "Where is the Primus?" she asked.

"He should be upstairs. Lord Kieran left at least fifteen minutes ago, and the Primus returned to the castle not long after," one of them explained.

"Oh, thanks," Mill said and rushed back to the staircase, rushed past Mauve’s room, and stopped in front of his study.

She hoped he was in here. The guards did say upstairs, and there was only one place she could think of him being, especially so early in the day. Mill stretched her hand to knock, and the door was opened right in her face.

She came face to face with Lord Louis, and for a couple of seconds, Mill lost the ability to speak and forgot where she was or why she was there. She held his stare for a while, then looked down, but not before she saw the frown on his face.

"What’s wrong, Mill?" he asked. "I could clearly make out your hurried footsteps. Is something wrong?"

Instead of opening the door wider, he slipped out and shut it behind him. Mill’s eyes widened a little. "Is now a bad time?" she asked, concerned that she couldn’t be let in.

"A little, but you can tell me what the issue is," he said.

"I need to see the Primus," she replied.

"Is it Mauve?" he asked, looking down the hallway as though he could see her room. "Is she sick?"

"I don’t know. I don’t think so, but she asked me to get the Primus."

"Oh," Louis frowned.

"Right now!" she responded.

"Jael isn’t here," Louis said.

"What? Where is he then? The guards said he was upstairs."

"He was, but Danag needed his attention, so they left a few minutes ago."

"Where to?" she asked.

"I don’t know," Louis shrugged.

"Oh no."

"Don’t worry, he should be back any moment now."

Mill gave him a panicked look. "I don’t know if she has that long." She turned, ready to bolt in any direction, but Louis held her.

"Take a deep breath. As long as it isn’t serious, she will be fine. Jael should be here soon enough." Louis raised his head. "Speak of the devil."

"Thank you," Mill said and bolted out of Louis’s grip as she rushed to Jael, who was coming down the stairs with Danag and Damon beside him.

Louis watched her go but remained by the door. He stared at his hand, which had been holding her for a while, before he started after her.

Jael caught sight of Mill rushing towards him and frowned. Danag was explaining more about the situation, but he wasn’t listening anymore. "What’s the matter, Mill?" he asked as she stopped right in front of Mauve’s room.

"Something..." her voice trailed off.

"Your attention is needed in there," Louis pointed to the door. "She thinks something is wrong with Mauve."

Jael looked at the closed door. "Is she sick?"

"I don’t think so. She woke up feeling a little weird, and as I prepared her for the first meal, she started to get more and more restless. She complained about feeling hot, but she doesn’t have a fever. Suddenly, as I was about to pick out her dress, she fell to the floor and asked me to come get you."

An unreadable expression passed across Jael’s face, and without a word to Mill or Louis, he pushed the door open and walked in.

Mauve watched Mill go, and she must have stayed on the floor for a while trying to gather herself before she crawled to the bed. She was in nothing but her undergarments and wanted to rip them off. She folded on her bed and tried to calm down, but her body wasn’t listening to her.

She squirmed in bed as she waited for Jael to come. Surely, there was something wrong with her. That was the only explanation for how she felt. It wasn’t something she could explain. All she knew was that she wanted Jael here now.

It was as if her body burned from the inside out. Squeezing her legs tightly didn’t help. It was an overwhelming feeling she didn’t understand. It wasn’t that she was starved for some action. She just got some.

Mauve must have laid on the bed, twirling and turning for a long time, wondering what was taking Jael so long before the door to her bedroom was pushed open and Jael walked in. "What’s wrong?" he asked, standing at the door.

Mauve swore, she already felt like she was teetering on the edge, but somehow just hearing his voice was enough to make her fall over. She curled up more as she waited for him to come closer. She didn’t think she would be able to speak loud enough for him to hear her.

"Mauve," his voice was closer this time, and she opened her eyes to look at him. "What’s wrong?" he asked.

"I don’t know," she whispered. "I don’t know what this is."

"Does your stomach hurt?" he asked, sitting on the edge of the bed and touching her side.

Mauve jerked at his touch, and he pulled his hand away, but that wasn’t what she wanted. She had only jerked because she hadn’t expected him to touch her.

Mauve forced herself to unroll and turned to look at Jael before turning away. "I don’t know," she mumbled and tried to scoot closer to him.

It was taking her a lot of self-control not to jump on him. All she wanted to do was rip his clothes off and have her way with him. She must be crazy. She couldn’t comprehend what was going on.

He raised her head up and frowned as he peered at her. Suddenly, his nose flared, and he said to Mill, "Leave us alone. I will call for you if we need anything. Try not to bother us until then."

"As you wish, Sire." Mill bowed and turned to leave the room.

"One more thing," he said as Mill stopped in her tracks.

"Yes, Sire," she whispered.

"For our first meal, make it more than enough. Lots of liquids too, and I will tell you when to bring it. Even if it’s important, don’t bother me," he ordered.

Mill nodded, bowed, and slipped out the door. Mauve tried to look at her, but she was concentrating on trying to get herself together and not leap at Jael. She knew she was fighting a losing battle, but she was going to try.

"Do you know what’s wrong with me?" she asked, looking up at him. She tried to stare at his face, but all she could see was his lips. She wanted to kiss him; it felt as though if she didn’t do it, she might die.

"I can take the hint," he mumbled and bent his head to kiss her.

Mauve moaned into his lips and kissed him just as hard. She unfolded her body to wrap around him and pulled at his clothes. All her control flew out the window the instant his lips touched hers. She didn’t think she had tasted anything sweeter.

He grabbed her breasts, and Mauve arched her back. What was this? She felt ten times more sensitive. He laid between her legs, rubbing against her crotch, and Mauve almost tipped over the edge. She pulled at his shirt.

She didn’t think she had ever wanted him so badly. His clothes were in the way, and she wanted to rip them off. Mauve heard a sound, and her legs spread wider as she was freed from her panties.

She heard Jael mutter a curse as he ran his fingers over her entrance. "You’re so wet," he whispered.

He slipped two of his fingers in, and she jerked, lifting her waist off the bed. "No," she cried. "Not enough."

Jael’s eyes shone bright enough to light up a room. His fangs grew so fast she was worried it would rip his skin in the process. His hunger and arousal were as clear as day.
