Chapter 625. Distraction
Chapter 625: 625. Distraction
"Right now?" Mauve asked, a mix of horror and excitement in her voice.
"Yes. I could certainly use the distraction," Jael’s voice dropped.
"Was it that bad?" She asked, her brows furrowing at the change in his tone.
"You could say that," he responded. "But enough talk," he said, bringing his face closer to hers.
Jael leaned in, his breath warm against her cheek, his eyes burrowing into hers. The dim candlelight flickered, casting shadows on the walls of the study. Mauve felt her heart race and her stomach knot. Jael’s hand gently cupped her face, his touch sending a shiver down her spine.
Without another word, he closed the distance between them, his lips meeting hers in a fervent kiss. Mauve’s initial surprise melted away, and she eagerly responded, her fingers instinctively going for his hair. She tangled her fingers with the strands and lightly tugged, undoing the ponytail.
Mauve felt Jael’s fangs grow in his mouth. He lifted one of her legs and pressed his body against her, locking her between him and the door. He broke the kiss and stared hard. "This was supposed to be a simple kiss, you know, but someone thought it was a good idea to run their fingers through my hair." His hair fell across his face as he looked down at their locked position.
"I didn’t mean to," Mauve blushed. "I didn’t even realize what I was doing."
"You didn’t?" he scolded, lifting her off the ground.
Mauve gasped and wrapped her legs around his waist for balance. "I didn’t," she cried.
"That’s not enough to make up for this. You have to take responsibility, Mauve. There’s no way I could concentrate on work being this rock ha—"
"Jael," Mauve cried.
Mauve didn’t think it was possible to hear someone smirk, but she clearly heard Jael smirk. He started walking further into the study and dropped her on his desk, her legs spread apart as he stood between them.
Her skirt had hitched up to reveal her knees but kept her nether regions covered. Jael’s eyes darkened as he took in the sight before him, his hands resting firmly on her thighs over her dress. The room seemed to shrink around them, the air thick with anticipation and desire. Mauve’s breath quickened, her eyes never leaving his. She could feel the tension radiating from him, it felt like if she looked away, he would swallow her up.
Without breaking eye contact, Jael slowly started to hitch her dress upward. Mauve’s expression betrayed her thoughts, but before she could stop him, he closed her lips with his mouth and pulled her hips closer to him while gently pushing her torso downwards.
Mauve gripped the sides of the table for balance as Jael further exposed her legs, his hands moving closer to the source of a starting heat. Mauve closed her eyes as she kissed him, afraid that her hands would lose their grip on the table and she would fall onto it scattering the papers and letters she could only assume were important.
Jael didn’t seem to care as he leaned even closer, his hands drawing closer and closer to their destination. The anticipation wore at Mauve’s nerves, and she squirmed, her lungs begging for breath.
Mauve heard a rip, and her eyes flew open. Jael broke the kiss just as his fingers caressed her hidden depths, their coldness a contrast to her burning heat. Mauve gasped for breath, but that wasn’t the only reason she was gasping.
"Just delightful," he whispered directly in her ear, his arousal evident in his voice. His finger drawing a vertical line up and down, he added, "Here, I was worried I’d have to warm you up a bit."
"Jael," Mauve cried as she lost her grip on the edge of the seat and gripped his arms.
"Mauve," he called her name and grunted as he slowly pushed a finger in. Mauve tightened immediately, locking him in as her head leaned back and once again her grip weakened.
Jael swore, "I wish I had more time to drive you to the edge, but I don’t," he grumbled, irritation mixed with his intense arousal.
He pulled his hand out and supported her with one hand while the other pulled at his waistband. He popped out, ready to go, and a sound escaped Mauve’s lips again.
"You have the same reaction every time you see it, but as we’ve confirmed several times," he said as he moved closer, "it fits just right."
A strained expression appeared on his face as he slipped into her wetness, and Mauve moaned. Jael grabbed her waist and pulled her to him, most of him buried in her. She wrapped her arms around his neck and her legs around his waist as he slowly began to move.
Suddenly, a knock echoed, and Mauve jerked, her eyes widening in horror. But Jael neither slowed nor stopped. "Jael," she cried, trying to draw his attention.
"Pay them no mind. Whoever it is will take the hint and leave. However, just to give them a hint..."
Mauve’s voice echoed in the space as Jael thrust in. Mauve clasped one of her hands over her mouth as she stared at Jael with horror clearly written on her face.
"That was better than I thought," he smirked.
"Why would you do that?" She tried to scold him, but her voice softened to a moan at the end as he kept his rhythm. It was slow, but enough to make her lose her mind.
"Well, it certainly did its job," he smirked and pulled away from her, dropping her legs to the ground, her dress falling to cover them. Mauve’s expression changed as she wondered what was wrong. She wasn’t nearly done.
"Don’t look at me like that, I assure you I always finish what I started," he whispered. He spun her so she had her back to him, the desk still between them.
He kissed her neck, slowly tracing it with his fangs before he pushed her torso forward, raised her dress, and spread her legs apart. Setting himself between her folds, he said, "You are the only reason I haven’t yet ripped this dress to shreds."
