Chapter 532. Depths of Hell

Chapter 532: 532. Depths of Hell

"What do you mean you don’t know how she got out?" Seraphino’s voice thundered in the confines of his room.

His fangs were enlarged and by the scowl on his face, he was in a very bad mood. He whipped his hair out of his face as he glared at his guards.

They were on their knees on the floor. One of them was bleeding from the side of his face from where Seraphino had clawed at him.

The others looked like the same fate was very far from them. They bent their heads and kept their eyes closed.

"Did she fly out of the room? Because that’s the only way she could have gotten out of here without dying?"

Silence.

"Answer me!" He screeched.

"I do not know, My Lord." The bleeding vampire clutched his face as though afraid he would get hit again.

"What did you say?" Seraphino asked, dropping to his knees.

"I-I..."

"Last time you let another human walk into my room. I let it go because nothing was amiss. Now, mine is gone without a trace. Do you take my kindness for stupidity? Would you prefer I slice up your guts and drink the blood thereof before you understand your pledge is to me? This is absolutely unforgivable and you all will be punished accordingly."

A knock forced Seraphino to jerk his head to the door. "Come in," he said but remained in a squat position.

"Lord Seraphino," Otis said as soon as he walked in. "You called for..." The words dried on his tongue as he took in the situation before him. "What happened?"

Seraphino smirked and tilted his head a little. "These fuckers lost my human. My gift. My freaking bloodslave. I am seething with anger, I can hear my own blood ring in my ears."

"How is that possible?" Otis asked bewildered.

"That’s what I’d like to know." Slowly turning his gaze to the guards, he whispered, "Get out! I’ll deal with you lots accordingly when we get back."

The guards scrambled to their feet and rushed toward the door, leaving nothing but the smell of their fear.

"I am a little lost on the situation," Otis said slowly, approaching Seraphino who was still hunched up on the floor.

"You’re not alone," he replied. He picked up the ripped rope and stared hard at the cut end.

"You’re thinking she had help," Otis added.

"Obviously, unless she somehow became ten times stronger overnight and learned how to fly. Try to rip this Otis." He tossed the end at Otis and stood to his feet.

Otis caught it with one hand and gave the rope an odd stare. "Someone ripped this," Otis commented.

"Yeah," Seraphino replied and walked to his bed. He dropped on it and laid on his back with his sole on the floor. He used his palms as a pillow to support his head.

"Don’t just stare at it," he scolded Otis. "Try to cut it, I want to measure the strength of the vampire that may have done this. I don’t think it’s the Primus himself and it’s certainly not just any Lord. Something tells me it might have something to do with why Louis left and returned. However, there weren’t many minutes between this so I didn’t think too much about it."

Otis grunted and a ripping sound rang out. "That wasn’t very easy," he said and tossed the piece to the ground.

"That’s what I thought too."

"What are you going to do?" Otis asked and approached him.

"Me?" Seraphino pushed himself to a sitting position. He folded forward resting his elbows on his knees. "Nothing."

"Nothing," Otis chuckled. "That doesn’t sound like you."

"It doesn’t, right?" He asked with a smirk. "But truly nothing. You on the other hand. I might need you to do something for me."

Otis frowned, "What would that be?"

"You see," Seraphino said, looking up at Otis. "I truly thought Jael was going to force me to give up my gift. I truly thought he was going to go down that route because I knew nothing would make him give up the princess. Absolutely nothing. I didn’t foresee this, maybe that’s why I let my guard down."

"Yeah, I wouldn’t have guessed he would go as far as to break a mere human out," Otis looked around before his eyes rested on the window.

"At least, I know just how far he would go for the one he has. Just how important she is. I wanted her but now I wonder how he would react if something were to happen to his precious human. Tit for tat, wouldn’t you say? I lost mine, it’s only logical if the same was to happen to him."

"What are you plotting?" Otis asked.

Seraphino smirked, "I am sure you have an idea. I was going to use it on the human I was gifted with. If the Primus had forced my hand, I would have."

"You can’t be serious!" Otis asked. It was unclear what expression passed across his face.

"You know I am," Seraphino. "Since the Primus wants to play dirty by stooping so low, I’ll go to the depths of hell. I have been burnt once, I’ll survive. Let’s see how he manages when he realizes just how hot it actually is."

"You want to give it to his human now?" Otis asked.

"Bullseye! A round of applause for Otis."

"How would you do that? The Primus wouldn’t let you within ten feet of her."

"That’s where you come in. You think I let you leave my side because I am generous. I couldn’t care less about Jael’s plans."

"That’s impossible!"

"What do you mean?" Seraphino asked.

"Not just impossible but a waste of time. It might take months or years for the symptoms to pop up and even then it takes longer for them to fall incredibly sick."

"True, it’s pretty unpredictable but not this one. I needed to make sure she would die if she ever left me so I might have tweaked it a little. The symptoms would show in less than three days and it would be over in a little over two months. Pretty fast, right?"
