The Vampire King's Possession
Chapter 362. The Gazebo

Chapter 362: 362. The Gazebo

"Yes Sir Galath," he said grudgingly. "But before then where did you guys come out from?" He asked, looking behind them.

"That’s no concern of yours."

Galath didn’t give Owen any chance to reply before he took Mauve’s hand and pulled her away from him.

"Bye, princesses." He called out to them and she waved at him.

"Is that a problem?" She asked as she tried to keep up with him.

"No, it shouldn’t be. He is one of the newbies you don’t have to worry about him." He let go of her hand with an apologetic look.

At this point, she was certain most of the guards were aware they were outside.

"Now, that we’re outside, what do you intend to do?"

"Nothing really," she said, looking up at the sky. The sky was dark, the moon was out giving her a clear view of the stars.

Mauve thought the moon gave the scenery a pretty glow.

Now that she was out, she didn’t know what she planned to do here. She hadn’t really thought about it,

They were bound to run into guards, the lamp Galati held was too bright, not to be noticed. She dragged her foot on the soft grass.

They were on the side of the castle. All she could see was the trees, low grass, and a bit of the fence. She wondered what she would find if she ventured toward the trees but it was the last for that now.

She didn’t mind stargazing, and to be honest, she was content to sit anywhere and watch the stars.

"The gazebo," she suddenly said, "Can we go there?"

"The gazebo?" Galati asked in horror. "It’s all the way at the front of the castle."

"Yes, I know," she said without flinching.

He sighed, "I suppose we could. If that’s where you want to go I will take you there."

"Thank you."

"You’re welcome." She could swear he rolled his eyes, even though she could only see his back as he started walking again.

She walked closely behind him as he held the lamp in front of him leading the way.

The gazebo was situated in the garden. The garden was in the front of the castle, the gazebo was in the left corner. It was a good place to see the flowers without having to go into the garden.

It was also a good spot for afternoon tea and she knew the queen liked to use it. Unfortunately, it was situated in a place where it could be seen from anywhere.

She was surprised Galath was willing to go with her whims and she couldn’t think of any reason why he would do this.

They might get into trouble but right now she was least concerned about that. She would worry about the consequences later. Anything to distract her from her thoughts.

The air felt chilly as they walked. She felt the cold sip through her skin but she paid it no mind.

"Careful," Galath said as he stretched out his hand to help her up the steps of the gazebo.

"No, thank you." She said and walked herself.

The space was round and there were seats on opposite sides with a table right in the middle. Mauve watched as Galath hung the light so it brightened the space.

She sat down and stared out one of the windows. Now that she wasn’t moving anymore, she could really feel how cold it was.

"Are you cold?" He asked.

Mauve turned her head to look at him and turned back. "No."

The cold was a familiar feeling. She didn’t find it uncomfortable.

"How long do you intend to stay here?" He asked.

"As long as I can." She replied.

"Okay, as you wish princess."

"Hmm," she said.

She rested her arm on the window pane, using it as a support for her head as she stared out.

She couldn’t really pick out much from where she was sitting but it felt soothing to just sit there enjoying the cool air.

"Galath," she suddenly called out after a few moments.

"Yes," he adjusted on his seat as she made eye contact with him.

"Do you think you can teach me how to ride a horse?"

"What?"

"A horse," she frowned. "I would like to learn how to ride it."

"Yes, of course, but I don’t know if the king would want that."

"How long would it take me to learn it?" She asked, ignoring his comment about her father.

"It depends," he said, dragging the words.

"Give me an estimate, Galath, and make sure it’s in line with what you think I can achieve."

"I don’t know but you’d need at least a month to get the basics. Why do you want to learn how to ride?"

"Do you think it’s a bad idea?" She asked, turning away from him.

"No, I don’t. Well, there you have your answer."

"I am not sure I am a good enough teacher," he replied.

"I’ve seen the way you ride your horse. I am sure you’re more than enough but it’s a favor if you don’t want to teach me you don’t have to. My title doesn’t really matter."

"It does," he said.

"I suppose I can take that as a yes?" She asked, arching her head slightly as she looked at him again.

Galath blushed and looked away from her. "Yes, you can count on me."

She smiled, "Thank you Galath. I am really grateful to you."

"You don’t have to thank me. It would be an honor to help you out. When do you intend to start?" He asked.

She looked outside again, "As soon as possible."

There was no reason to make herself resourceful, it wasn’t like she was going back. However, the idea of doing something she usually wouldn’t gave her hope.

This was more for herself than anyone else. Relying on people was all she had ever done. Things wouldn’t always go right and it was best to prepare for anything.
