The Vampire King's Possession
Chapter 322. The Scarf

Chapter 322: 322. The Scarf

"You could have warned me," she said and turned around, taking in everything.

"So I should take it as you like them?" Mill asked with a smirk.

"Like? I love them." She yelled out, spreading out her hands.

"Are you sure? If there is any one you dislike, I could change them or get rid of them completely."

"I couldn’t even decide which I like most, they are all so good and they look so expensive too. Jael shouldn’t have gotten this many."

"Don’t worry about the semantics, just enjoy the dresses that are about to be made for you. Besides, he ruined a lot of your clothes, this is only proper," Mill grinned.

"Mill," Mauve cried, blushing slightly.

"Did you think I didn’t know about the dresses?" She smirked.

"I didn’t think that." She turned her face, unable to look at Mill in the face.

"I was particularly pissed about the lilac dress," Mill continued.

"Mill," Mauve cried, jerking her head in the vampire’s direction. Her eyes were literally begging her to stop.

She laughed, "Yasmin said she could fix it. She should be working on it already."

"Really?" Mauve voice sounded perky. She really liked the dress too.

"Yep."

"Thank you for your help," she said with a bright smile.

"My help? I didn’t do anything. You should be thanking the Primus. He gave all the orders."

"I will definitely show my gratitude." Mauve replied.

"I’m sure," Mill returned.

"Mill," Mauve called out in horror.

"Just try not to get any more dresses torn. I am the one who has to clean the mess."

"It’s not my fault. I like my dresses in one piece too."

"Well, the state of your clothes suggests otherwise," Mill smirked.

"Mill, stop teasing me."

"That was not my intention," she replied but her face said otherwise. "I am just glad you liked the materials I brought. I’ll let the Primus know."

"So you know where he is?" She asked.

She wanted to thank him as soon as possible and maybe give him the scarf. She knew it was nothing compared to what he just did but she was glad she had some kind of gift.

Hopefully, he was the type that thought it was the heart that mattered and not that she had given him a poorly knitted scarf.

"He is still dealing with the new recruits but he told me he would be in his study soon enough."

"You can either wait for him or I can tell him you’re looking for him."

"What? There is no need for that, Mill. I will wait." She sat on the bed, carefully not to crush the cloths.

"If you insist. Well then, I will be right back with servants to take these cloths away."

Mauve nodded, "That’s fine."

Mauve stared at the scarf, spreading it open in the lamp so she could see it properly. It was finally complete and now she was having second thoughts.

It didn’t look terrible if one didn’t look too closely. She flipped it, it was big enough and thick. It also felt very comfortable when she placed it against her skin.

Mauve jumped to her feet, it was now or never, if she dragged this, she wouldn’t be able to give it to him. She walked to the door with shaky legs.

The walk to his study felt ridiculously long. She stopped in front of the door and knocked softly. The door was immediately thrown open and Erick appeared in front of her.

She jerked and noticed his eyes were on the scarf, she immediately hid it behind her back. She didn’t want his eyes on it, he would definitely not have anything good to say.

"Get out of the way, Erick and let her in."

"As you wish, Sire," he said and moved aside.

Mauve had half the mind to stick out her tongue at him but since she was too nervous about the present, she didn’t do that.

"Sire, please respond to the letters I have set out. I did that yesterday night. I can’t move to the next set on your table if you won’t even respond to the old ones."

"Whatever, get out of here."

"Yes Sire," Erick said and closed the door behind himself.

"I suppose you’ve seen them," Jael said as she slowly approached him.

She nodded.

"What do you think?" He asked, leaning back on his chair as he watched her.

"They are absolutely lovely," she responded.

Jael frowned, "Is there something behind your back?"

"Maybe," she said with a light shrugged but she was sure Jael could hear how loudly her heart was beating.

"Is it for me?" The corners of his lips lifted.

"Maybe," she whispered, stopping in front of him.

Jael chuckled, "Well then isn’t someone being secretive. You learn fast," he said.

"Someone wouldn’t stop teaching me," she replied with her head bent.

Jael threw his head back and laughed. "Well, unlike you I don’t have any patience," he replied, pulling her onto his legs as he pulled the scarf out of her hand.

"Jael," she cried and tried to hold on but she wasn’t as strong as he was and it was so easy for him to pull it out of her grip.

"What’s this?" He asked with a frown as he stared up at it.

"A scarf," she said with a pout.

"You made this?" He asked.

She nodded, not looking up at his face. His voice neither held excitement nor disgust.

"Wow! You’re pretty good. Didn’t you just start learning?"

"Yes," she whispered, feeling very warm at his praise. "Do you like it?" She asked while fiddling with her fingers.

"Of course, I do. You made it for me," He replied and kissed her neck.

She giggled blushing hard. He moved from her neck and kissed her hard on the lips, she kissed him back.

He pulled away and said, "I want to see something."

"What are you doing?" She asked when he started to wrap it around her neck. "I made it for you."

"I know," he smirked. "But this way it would have your scent on it."

She blushed at his response and let him wrap it around her neck. He stared at her with bright eyes.

"It looks very good on you," he smirked.

"Jael, I made it for you, you should at least try it on."

"Just a couple more seconds," he kissed her gently, leaving pecks of kisses around her lips and cheeks.

"Jael," she blushed. "That’s enough. I am taking this off."

In an attempt to remove it from her neck, she hit the stack of letters, spreading them across the table.

"Oh no!" She cried with the scarf partly off her. "I am so sorry. I will arrange them right away."

"No need for that, Erick would do it," Jael was saying but Mauve was already getting to work.

Suddenly, her eyes caught something. She would recognize it anywhere. The royal family’s seal. Her father’s seal. Knocking down the stack of letters had exposed it.
