Chapter 196. Last Thing He Did

Chapter 196: 196. Last Thing He Did

Mauve gasped as Jael pulled her closer and she stood between his parted legs. Water dripped down her body and she should be cold but Jael’s gaze warmed her all over.

He looked at her with glowing bright blue eyes and Mauve closed her eyes against the intensity of his gaze. She could feel his gaze trace her body and his cold palms around her waist held her steady.

Mauve’s eyes flew open as she felt his tongue against her chest. He flicked her right bead with his tongue and it hardened against his touch.

"Jael," she whispered, her knees buckling slightly.

He smiled up at her and carefully circled it with the tip of his tongue. Mauve gripped his shoulders for support and when she thought she could take his teasing anymore, he sucked on it.

Mauve whimpered as he drew out all the strength in her legs. Her knees bent but she did not fall. His palms on her waist was the only reason she wasn’t lying on the ground.

He moved his tongue to her left side and gave it ample attention, gently licking and sucking. Mauve’s grip on his shoulders tightened as she fought to steady herself. She could feel the sensation all the way to her gut and between her legs.

He pulled her onto his lap so she was across them. "Jael, you’ll get soaked," she protested and tried to stand on her feet.

He stopped her by pinning her down. "It doesn’t matter," he replied. "Are you cold?" He spoke really close to her ears and Mauve felt goosebumps pop out of her arms.

She nodded, "A little." Considering she just came out of the bath with water still dripping down her body, it was expected.

"Bear with me," he whispered and Mauve felt a cold breeze against her neck, simultaneously, his fangs grazed the skin on her neck. Mauve fought the urge to moan out loud.

Her body rested on his left arm while his right hand moved from her thighs up the rest of her body. At this point, Mauve was panting. It was ironic that even though his fingers were cold everywhere he touched her burnt.

The tip of his nose rubbed against her neck as he placed his open palm on her stomach but did not stop there, he slowly made his way up.

"Mauve," his voice sounded hoarse as he called her name.

She groaned her response and felt his tongue on her neck. She arched her back as he carefully drew circles around her bosom.

"I don’t think I can hold out any longer. It’s been so long since I drank from you, my fangs ache just from the thought of it." He sounded as if in pain.

She felt his tongue on her neck again and Mauve took a sharp breath. Her body was on fire and she found that she did want release. She scooted her neck closer to him, urging him to take a drink.

She felt Jael move away from her. He lifted his face from her neck and stared her in the face. His glowing eyes scanned her face and Mauve felt time freeze. She pursed her lips and closed her eyes.

She heard him swear just as he brought his lips down against her. Mauve took a deep breath through her nose at the familiar feel of his lips on hers. He pried them open with his tongue as she grabbed the front of his shirt.

She felt his hardened self poking against her rear and she adjusted for comfort. Jael broke the kiss and rested his forehead on hers. "Would you not move so much?" His voice was clouded with desire.

He breathed against her face and then moved away from her. "Let’s get you dressed."

"Huh?" Mauve said, her eyes widening. She was having a hard time believing his words. Surely, he didn’t intend to leave her hanging.

He smiled and kissed her forehead. He pulled away immediately and said, "Mill!"

The door opened immediately and Mill walked in. "Yes, Sire." She said with a bow.

"Get her dressed." As he spoke, he lifted her off his legs and placed her in a sitting position on the bed.

Mauve didn’t protest, even though she wanted to. She just scoffed and turned away from him.

He kissed the nape of her neck and she pulled out of reach. Mill was by her side in seconds with a nightdress. She quickly put it over Mauve and untied the towel around her hair. It was still wet but the towel had soaked up most of the water.

"Are you ready to leave?" Jael asked as she stood to her feet.

She glared at him and walked past him. She got to the door and placed her hands on the handle just and Jael lifted her off her feet.

"What are you doing?" She screamed.

"What does it look like?" He replied casually and opened the door while holding her easily with one hand.

"Put me down, I can walk." She yelled out, shaking her legs vigorously.

"Why would I let you do that?" He asked and stopped her movements with his other hand as she pulled her closer to his chest.

"Huh? Because that’s what my legs are for!"

"Stop whining," he ordered and walked out the door. "We will be in the room in no time, you might as well enjoy the ride." He smirked.

"I’d rather walk," she sneered.

"I am sure but this is better for everybody."

"No, it’s not. It’s only better for you."

"Look," he said. "Here we are. It would have taken longer if I had relied on your tiny legs."

"They are not that tiny!" She said and smacked his arm.

"Feisty," he says.

Mauve immediately clamped her mouth shut. He opened the door and Mauve blinked at the darkness. The room was even darker than the corridor.

"It’s dark." She said with a nasty tone.

"Don’t worry I can see in the dark just fine."

"I didn’t say you couldn’t." Mauve sighed, it was stressful conversing with him. She could always tell he was messing with her.

She closed her eyes and rested her head on his chest. She has learned the hard way that Jael was pretty adamant and rarely changed his mind about certain situations.

He stopped and she assumed they were beside the bed. She felt herself go downward and her back touched the bed. He let go of her and she expected him to join her but he didn’t do that.

Suddenly, she heard rustling beside her head and immediately sat upright. "What are you doing?" She asked.

"You’ll see," he said and before she could respond the lamp came on.

Mauve blinked against the light as she could see again. She would always prefer light over darkness. She was surprised she hadn’t gotten used to it after all these months.

However, even in these conditions she didn’t miss the castle nor did she wish she was back there.

She looked at Jael as he slipped into the bed beside her and her heart squeezed. She did like being by his side and she really hoped that wouldn’t change soon. She knew it would break her.

...

"What?" Jael asked. Mauve was staring at him with an odd expression on his face. The kind that was sometimes a little hard to decipher even though she was so easy to read.

She turned away from him, "Nothing." She said and lay back on the bed.

He smiled to himself and pulled her to himself. She didn’t fight him and Jael held her tight. He could never get over how easily she fit in his arms.

He should be in an awful mood but he wasn’t even after he found out that Danag had tried to use her to get him back to the castle.

He intended to mete out the appropriate punishment. It didn’t make any difference that Mauve had decided to leave on her own, Danag just pointed her in the right direction.

He did warn his head guard that he wouldn’t be lenient. However, he didn’t want to go against his word with her, not after she had reacted so happy when he said he’d consider it. It was a relief that she liked his home that much. It would be all pretense if he said it didn’t bother him. He would often wonder if she would leave if he gave her a chance to. A huge part of him felt she would. He pulled her even closer.

"Jael," she cried. "You’re squeezing."

He pulled his hand away immediately. "Did it hurt?"

"Nope, it was just a little hard to breathe."

"I see," he said and placed her hand on her hair.

All he could smell and feel was her but he knew he couldn’t do anything that would put at risk and this pissed him off. He would get rid of all the Palers even if it was the last thing he did.
