Chapter 341: Tonight Will Be the Night

Mia still couldn’t believe that she was already married. That, and the fact that she still hadn’t lost her virginity. It was kind of disappointing, but she didn’t really mind it, especially since Draki had been the one to cause the two of them to bleed off steam enough that they lost interest.

She also realized that being married now also came with a whole new set of problems, namely the fact that if both she and Levi decided to go on vacation, nobody would be good enough to man the control room in their absence. Naturally, she told Levi about this observation, and he quickly suggested they trained someone to act as their reliever.

"How about Wena?" Levi suggested, letting out a yawn. "She’s pretty good at computers."

"That could work," Mia nodded. "I’ll go and talk to her then. You go on first and rest."

"I’ll get an hour’s sleep only and then come back to join you," Levi commented followed by another yawn.

"I’ll do the teaching. Go now and sleep..." Mia said with a smile since she had enough sleep than Levi who would let her sleep more.

And with that, Mia suddenly found herself holding a serious one-on-one tutorial with Wena as soon as Levi left. It wasn’t much, but they might as well start somewhere, right?

"Uhm... I think I get it," Wena hesitantly nodded. "I just have to make sure everything’s all in working order, right?"

"That’s the gist of it," Mia nodded, pointing at some of the monitors as she gave her protege a few more pointers. "If you’re confused, just look at that monitor there. It’ll always spit out some relevant information that might be helpful for you."

It was rather surreal, knowing that she was actually teaching her future replacement, but it was a necessary change moving forward. Either way, Wena was a capable woman of taking up the job for them.

Being one of the disguised assassins assigned to kill Xander Yang back at Country D, Wena had been the one to disguise herself as one of the waitresses in the restaurant to serve poisoned wine to Xander. The Boss then saved her and her family, knowing that the woman was only a victim of Marcus’s tyranny by blackmailing her using her family.

After all was said and done, Wena became a new member of the Moonlight Squad, one, who like her and Levi, was quite knowledgeable with computers and hacking.

"Right," Wena nodded. "And I also have the notes you prepared for me to study further. I’m sure that I can find my answers there if you or Levi wouldn’t be here with me."

"Good, because tonight will be your first night shift alone," Mia grinned.

She chuckled as Wena turned to look at her with surprise practically etched onto her face. The newbie had no idea that she was planning on throwing her into the fire right from the get-go, and Mia couldn’t help but relish the anxiety the poor woman was feeling.

"U-Uhm... Are you sure about that, Mia?" Wena weakly asked. "I don’t think I’m ready for such a shift yet."

"I’m sure you’ll do fine," Mia smiled warmly at her as she patted her shoulder. "Everyone had to start somewhere. It just so happens that your start will be doing tonight’s night shift all by yourself."

Wena blanched, and it was only then that Mia decided to actually try and encourage her protege.

"Look, I know you can do this. Contrary to what it looks like, being in control room duty isn’t as hard as it looks," Mia encouraged with a warm smile. "If all else, just consult the manual. Every little question you might have will all be written there. And if it isn’t, then call for either me or Levi, because at that point, we might have an emergency on our hands."

"R-Right..." Wena nodded. "I won’t let you down."

"Don’t worry about it," Mia cheered her on. "You’ll be fine."

"Okay... Okay!" Wena cheered herself on with a determined smile. "I can do this!"

"That’s the spirit!" Mia smiled. "Now, let’s go over a few more things you might encounter, just in case it might actually happen."

Giving her student an encouraging hug, Mia then went on to hammer down a few more things that her replacement might need for her inevitable job. All the while, her thoughts went back to the free night she suddenly earned later with Levi. Already, her mind was giving her a few naughty thoughts on what to do.

"Mia?"

"O-Oh! Right," she quickly cleared her throat as her thoughts went back to the present. "See, it’s like this...."

There will be love made later tonight between them. She would make sure of it.

"Achoo!"

Levi sneezed on his bed as he couldn’t help but turn towards the door. Somehow, he felt like something was about to happen to him later, and he couldn’t help but think that it was going to be bad.

’Am I going to... No... I won’t let that happen...’

Focusing himself, he turned his attention back to his... ’research material.’ He couldn’t help but feel glad that nothing had happened yet between him and Mia. Sure, he answered her with a resounding yes, but that was his instincts doing the talking.

At the end of the day, he was just sure that he would’ve embarrassed himself to her with his lack of ’knowledge.’ To solve that, here he was rectifying the situation by watching some ’educational videos’ about the act.

"So that’s how it looks like then..."

Like a sponge, Levi did his best to absorb every bit of knowledge he could get. From positions to even anatomical locations, he memorized them all for the sake of not being ignorant about them.

"Tonight will be the night," he whispered to himself. "We’ll do it..."

And he was sure that it would happen. They were married, for crying out loud. They should at least get to consummating their bond before the Boss gets back home.
