Chapter 292: Always Got What She Wanted

Raine came back home to the Yue Mansion as soon as she was finished with her business with Janus. Sure enough, most of their guests had already left, only some remained to enjoy their cocktail drinks under the moonlight like Levi and some of the other bachelors from her squad. Without a family to care for, most of them didn’t bother going home yet.

Meanwhile, Nathan was quite fast in walking to her side as he coaxed her, "It’s already late. Come now and let’s get some early rest." He insisted, "From now on, you’re not allowed to sleep too late at night."

Raine chuckled and chortled at his would-be husband’s concern. "Alright, darling. Let me just bid good night to my men," she smiled. "I’ll just let Levi be their host so that they can still enjoy the night however long they want to."

Nathan nodded, and Raine quickly bid good night to her men, entrusting the hosting duties for the rest of the night to Levi. With their obligations finished, she and Nathan walked hand in hand into the mansion.

"Will you be gone tomorrow morning?" Raine asked as they made their way to her bedroom.

She didn’t get an answer to her question. Instead, he led her inside her own room, casually opening his arms as she quickly pounced on him to hug him tightly. For once, she’ll let him be silent, even if his nonanswer was starting to get to her.

"Tired?" Nathan murmured as he gently stroked her back and hair.

"Yeah," Raine murmured with a pout, inhaling Nathan’s masculine scent as she buried her face into his chest. "It’s no wonder I’m often lethargic lately. Aire’s making me lazier by the day."

"Wait here then," he hummed. "I’ll prepare a warm bath and get you cleaned up so you can sleep better..."

Breaking their embrace, Nathan then went on to prepare her warm bath. Meanwhile, Raine lazily sat on the couch, silently watching his every movement.

"You didn’t answer my question a while ago. I guess you’ll be gone early tomorrow while I’m sleeping." She sighed as she continued, "I know you’ll be too busy for us to see each other often in the following days. My life will be in danger, so I understand why it’ll be better if I laid low for a while. How about I go on a vacation with my father in another country in the meantime?"

As if sensing her mood, Nathan stood in front of her with a frown and said, "Tell me the truth."

Crossing his arms, he waited for her to answer. Raine only held a mischievous smile as she replied, "Seems like it’ll take a bit more effort to hide things from my capable future husband..." Her shoulders deflated ever so slightly as she added, "Alright fine, I’ll give you the details. But I should remind you that I’m not a reckless enough of a person who’ll just blindly put myself nor our daughter Aire in danger without reason."

Nathan’s eyes narrowed as he scoffed, "Look at you trying your best to convince me that I should agree on this before even telling me all the details."

Raine chuckled, "Well, I tried."

Finding herself in a verbal corner, she finally started discussing her plans with Nathan... By the end of her proposal, Nathan had a pensive look on his face as he stared at her.

"So you’re saying that you’ll simply watch and supervise your men doing the job out in the field while you will enjoy your vacation with your friends?" Nathan dubiously asked with a lifted brow.

"Yup, as easy as that," Raine popped her lips with a smirk. Seeing his expression, however, she quickly put on a pout, her puppy eyes in full effect as she hugged him by the neck. "Why? Don’t tell me you won’t allow me even that?"

"Look, I need some fresh air, okay?" Raine insisted. "And besides, I’ll have Father with me, so you can rest assured that he’ll be protecting me with all his might. That way, you can focus more on wrapping things up at the Convel Society."

"I’ll think about it first, alright? For now, we have a wedding to do first," Nathan pointed out in consideration. "Only after that will I consider your request. And you do know that I’ll always prefer it if you just stuck by my side, or if not, then be at least within reach. Being in a faraway country isn’t that simple, my sweet vixen. It’ll take me so many hours just to see you."

Raine shrugged, no longer insisting on her point. In the back of her head, however, she had already formulated so many ways of convincing Nathan to let her go without much of a fight. As much as she wanted to stay close to him, she could already see how it would become impossible to do so with all of the things that still need to be addressed.

Either way, there was no way that she’d come back to the Convel Society just to promote hatred, stress, and annoyance during her pregnancy. And there was no way that she’d be fine with staying idle in the Moon Clan Territory, sulking while waiting for her mate to visit her. God knows how often that would be in Nathan’s hectic schedule.

She knew that going out of the Moon Clan Territory would be dangerous, but going to another country while also making sure that no one would find out that she even left would be a perfect form of protection for her.

She made sure that news of her so-called delicate pregnancy would spread not just throughout the whole Mirage Group, but through the Convel Society as well. Her enemies should expect her to stay hidden then, maybe even thinking that she’d be on bed rest most time.

"Come now. I’ll bathe you..." Nathan urged as he pulled her to the bathroom.

Feeling his hand against her skin, Raine let her mate do the job of removing all her clothes before dipping into the water. She then shook her head as she watched her dear mate take off his clothes as well, joining her in the tub soon after.

Sharing the waters, Nathan signaled for her to move closer to him, Raine did just that with her back facing him. She closed her eyes as he then started massaging her bare skin, doing more than igniting something deep within her body.

"This feels nice and arousing, darling," she directly murmured before quickly following it up with a moan, making Nathan chuckle at her boldness.

She could already see where this was going. She was well aware of how her mate’s hardness was poking up at her bottom, and it was pretty much all the signal that she needed to go ahead and be shameless.

"Let’s do it here instead of on the bed. That way, we can quickly clean up again afterward..." Raine bluntly suggested as she moved to face and straddle Nathan. "I’m too lazy to get up once I get on the comfort of my own bed."

"But staying in the water for too long won’t be good for you," Nathan whispered with a smile. "Let’s just finish up and get you dry first. Don’t worry, I’ll clean you up on the bed after the deed..."

But instead of letting Nathan do his thing, Raine promptly ignored him in favor of hungrily kissing him, making him utterly powerless in the same way that it always happened whenever she would initiate with her aggressiveness like this. She just loved seeing how he would always writhe around her, and his rough touch and groans only spurned her to further her efforts as she let her lust carry her forward.

She always got what she wanted if she really wanted to. Even if she was thoroughly pacified by his love for her, that part of her never truly left.
