Chapter 204: Prince Davin of The Corvus
"What’s going on here!? I thought the captives were in the dungeon!" Danos yelled as he stared at the empty cell in the dungeon where the captures were supposed to be held.
He was still bleeding from the gunshot wounds, and it would take some time for him to heal due to those damn silver bullets. He was already lucky enough that none of those bullets penetrated any vital organ, and their surgeon was fast enough in removing the pesky bullets out of his body.
Still, according to his sources, three Elders had died. And the worst part was that those were the ones that he worked hard on to get the alliances that he needed. Those Elders would have in his pocket in any situation!
His veins were popping all over his body in great fury. He would kill the bastards they captured, including that menace Boris! "Where are they?!" he shouted.
Hearing him, one of the dungeon guardians rushed towards him and said, "The King moved them... He particularly instructed that anyone who might want to see the captives would have to come to him first."
Danos let out a manic laugh, but he quickly suppressed uttering out any more words. He rushed out of the dungeon with gritted teeth. Their King had called for a meeting, but he went straight to the dungeon to see those bastards.
"Damn meeting..." he growled as he quickly walked to rush to the said meeting.
Everyone had gathered at one of the meeting rooms in the King’s Residence. All members of the Convel Committee were currently present in the room except for those who had severe injuries that understandably couldn’t get back on their feet yet.
"Those three should face horrendous deaths! We must not show mercy!!!" one of the Elders hissed.
Nathan was expressionless in his seat. With an order, he said, "Silence."
At that, everyone stopped talking.
"What do you intend to do in this situation, King Nathan? Don’t tell me you plan to spare them when they’ve caused so much loss in our group!" Danos barked, breaking the tense silence with his words. "Must I remind you that we’ve lost three elders, three Alphas, and a few Betas to them? Not to mention that four of our Elders are still badly injured!"
"Yeah! Those three must be beheaded! Llet’s throw their heads back at the Moon Clan’s Territory!" Leon, one of the Elders seconded.
Nathan looked at everyone in the room. He could tell that everyone was too furious to properly think except the two Elders, Decan and Lucio.
"I want to hear your opinions on this matter, Elder Decan," Nathan motioned.
Lucio let out a sigh and weakly said, "He’s awake..."
Everyone’s eyes in the room immediately gravitated towards the Elder.
"Marcus is awake, and he now has my daughter, Crissa, and Lucio’s son, Cole, in his grasp. I would love to tear those captives into pieces, but as a Father..." Decan trailed off before gathering himself. "I will not abandon my daughter. Marcus doesn’t want a single strand of hair being touched on his daughter, so no one will touch the Princess as long as my daughter is in Marcus’ hands."
"I have the same sentiments as Decan’s. No one touches the captives till we rescue our children..." Lucio gravely nodded with dropped shoulders.
Danos swallowed the remaining words he wanted to spit out. Lucio was someone he wouldn’t dare to offend simply due to the man holding absolute power in their group.
"Alright, we will do just that for now. Let’s focus on rebuilding our defenses, and strengthening our hold on our territory to prevent something like this from happening again," Nathan agreed. "We will make a plan to locate Lucio’s son and Decan’s daughter. Meanwhile, the captives will remain under my protection. I will trust none of you will try to harm them, or else you will answer directly to me."
Danos looked absolutely displeased as he eyed Nathan suspiciously. He could smell that something was wrong, and he intended to dig out every single speck of it.
"Why do I feel like our King seems extra lenient with the captives?" Danos couldn’t help but ponder loudly. "I mean... Why would you grant them special treatment under your wing when we can at least make them suffer while waiting for Lucio’s son and Decan’s daughter’s rescue? It’s not like Marius would know what his daughter’s current condition is, right? Besides, we’re also not sure if the children are being treated properly under Marcus, correct?"
Danos frowned as he met Nathan’s glare. He smirked when he noticed the lack of response coming from the king. "I knew it... I wasn’t sure about it, but the way you suddenly appeared on the scene, stopped the fight, and carefully held that bi*tch in your arms felt weird. I thought I was just hallucinating, but I clearly saw you carrying her."
All eyes went to Nathan. Aspen sighed deeply, wondering how the king would handle this mess.
Nathan kept a poker face as he narrowed his eyes at Danos. With a smirk, he murmured, "How about you go to the infirmary for now, Danos? Have you gotten your eyesight checked?"
"It was not your King that appeared, but it was I, Prince Davin from The Corvus..."
At the mysterious voice, a man suddenly appeared inside the room from out of nowhere.
"You! You’re with them! I saw you throw Sasha and injure one more Alpha just to protect the Bloody-Eyed Hunter!" one of the Elders accused with a growl.
"Hmm... I’m not exactly with them. I’m simply a bystander, I would say," the newly introduced Prince Davin casually replied. "It’s just that I can’t help but interrupt whenever I see beauty being getting attacked from behind. You see, in our group, we really hate backstabbers, so I just can’t stand to watch such an unacceptable scene."
The prince then continued, "I mean, I strongly believe that it wouldn’t be good to do that kind of attack. Surely, the Princess of Moon Clan, who was also the Bloody-Eyed Hunter, was a great fighter who didn’t deserve to fall to an attack from behind... Or perhaps I’m mistaken? Does the Convel Society have different views on open fights like that? I guess you guys love backstabbing each other..."
Danos’s face darkened as he grunted, "What is the Prince of the Corvus doing here anyway? Are you meddling with our affairs?!" He closely stared at their King and the man. Was he really mistaken seeing that the two had the same build and hairstyle? There was no doubt that at first glance that Prince Davin could be mistaken as their King Nathan. Danos narrowed his eyes... He smelled something suspicious and he would make sure to fish out whatever it was.
"I was invited by the King for an alliance to bring down the Moon Clan of the Mirage, along with the two other clans if they happened to block our way..." the prince shrugged. "It was supposed to be a midnight talk, but I arrived earlier than expected since I wanted to take a stroll and look around the Convel Society. However, I’m honestly... Hmm... how should I say this... entertained?"
