Chapter 96: Hidden Quest Completed

"Oh, you’re finally awake, huh?" Sona said, her voice sounded joyful, as if she was happy to see me again.

Speaking of the devil... I’m already so weak—what else could she possibly want from me? I sighed, feeling like I couldn’t catch a break. Honestly, what more could she have planned for me at this point? Ugh, I hate this. Dammit, nothing is going the way I want.

Sona walked toward me, her steps slow and deliberate, each one filled with an unnerving confidence. Her grin was still plastered on her face, like a predator savoring the moment before striking.

I could barely move; my body was too weak to even lift a finger properly, and even if I could, the effort it would take to move was overwhelming. It was better to stay still and conserve what little energy I had left.

She stopped at the edge of the bed and looked down at me, her eyes gleaming with amusement. "You look pathetic," she remarked, her tone casual, almost mocking. "Is this really how you plan to help me after becoming this weak from just one session of having your blood sucked?"

Wow, what an ungrateful bitch! Is this how you show gratitude to someone who donated their blood to you?!

I grit my teeth, struggling just to hold my head up. "You... you did this to me..." I said, though the words barely escaped my dry throat. "So what else do you want from me? Like what do you expect me to do, huh?" I said. "Fucking bitch, you think this is funny, huh?"

I was really angry, and I wanted to shout out loud so badly, but my body lacked the energy to do so. All I could do was hold back my anger for now.

She chuckled, her voice a melody that sent shivers down my spine. "What else do I want? Well, I don’t know..." She leaned in closer, her breath warm against my ear. "But I think you’re about to be very happy soon."

"Me happy...? What the hell are you talking about?" I said, struggling to understand what she meant.

Sona’s grin widened as she stepped back slightly, her eyes gleaming with mischief.

SNAP!

With a snap of her fingers, a silver tray materialized in her hands, filled with food—roasted meat and other rich, mouth-watering dishes. The smell hit me instantly, making my stomach growl louder than I wanted it to.

GROWLING!

"Look at that, you’re growling already," she teased, holding the tray just out of reach. "Even when you’re all pathetic and frail, your body knows what it needs. You’re lucky I’m feeling generous today."

I pretended to feel nothing, but the hunger in my gut was stronger than my pride. I couldn’t remember the last time I’d eaten, and the sight of these delicious luxurious foods was tempting as hell. My body screamed to eat, and no matter how much I hated her, I knew I had to eat if I wanted to recover quickly.

Sona set the tray down on a small table beside the bed and picked up a piece of roasted meat, holding it in front of my face. "Open wide," she said mockingly, her tone dripping with amusement. "Unless you’d rather starve?"

No, I must resist!

She wanted me to eat and recover quickly so she could drink my blood again. At this point, I’m nothing more than livestock to her. Not that I’m complaining—I mean, if it helps heal her internal injuries faster, sure, I don’t mind. But once her injuries are completely healed, what then? Will she finally let me go, or will she continue to keep me as livestock? That’s what I’m most worried about.

I glared at her, trying my best to resist, but my body betrayed me as my mouth opened instinctively. She placed the meat in my mouth with surprising gentleness, and the moment the rich, savory flavor hit my tongue, I couldn’t stop myself. I chewed ravenously, the food reviving a tiny spark of energy within me.

Ah, fuck it! I don’t care anymore! Let’s just eat to my content!

MUNCH! MUNCH! MUNCH! NOM! NOM! NOM!

Mmm! Yummy! Fucking delicious!

I couldn’t help but cry inwardly. I’m basically like a dog now begging for food. Goddammit!

"Good boy," she said with a smirk, watching as I devoured piece after piece. "See? It’s not so bad, is it? You might even thank me later."

Gaaahhhh!!! I thought I’m finally strong enough to rule the world, but now I’m nothing more than just a plaything for this Vampire Demigod, a higher being that is far stronger than that bastard John.

"Just shut up already and let me eat in peace," I muttered between bites, though my voice was a lot weaker than I wanted.

The food was working wonders, and I could already feel a small portion of my strength returning. My hands were still shaky, but at least I could move them slightly easier now. Slowly, I reached for the tray, determined to feed myself instead of relying on her. To my surprise, she didn’t mind at all.

Sona raised an eyebrow, clearly entertained. "Oh, so you’ve got a little fight left in you after all," she said, crossing her arms as she leaned against the bedpost. "Good. You’re going to need it, so make sure to eat a lot."

I paused, narrowing my eyes at her. "What the hell does that mean? What else are you planning to drag me into?"

She chuckled softly, her crimson eyes glowing faintly. "Oh, don’t worry about it for now. Just focus on getting your strength back first. You’ve got... quite the adventure ahead of you, and trust me, you’ll need every bit of energy you can get."

Her words made my stomach turn. Whatever she had planned, I knew it wasn’t going to be anything good for me.

"Alright, I’ll take my leave now. Enjoy your meal," she said. "Ah, don’t even think about leaving this bedroom. If you do, don’t say I didn’t warn you." With that, she walked out, leaving me here to eat peacefully alone.

As soon as she left, out of nowhere, a surprise notification from the system popped up:
