Chapter 93: Offering Blood
CLAP! CLAP! CLAP!
"Hahaha! Welcome! Welcome to my private world!" the vampire woman said, clapping her hands three times as she welcomed me.
She smirked, her sharp fangs glinting faintly in the dim light of the ancient library. She crossed her arms, her piercing red eyes locking onto mine as though she could read every thought running through my head. "Well, mortal, since you claim to be here to help me, why don’t you start by explaining what you think you can do for me?"
Just as I was about to speak, she suddenly vanished and reappeared in front of me, stopping me by placing her index finger on my lips. "Oh, wait, hold on," she said. "Let’s introduce ourselves first before we start. I’ll go first. My name is Sona Bloodmoon. Alright, now it’s your turn."
Bloodmoon, huh? What a cliché vampire last name. Exactly what I would expect from a vampire... lol.
Welp, anyway, using my thoughts:
LEVEL SCAN!
I immediately activated Level Scan, planning to take a quick peek at Sona’s level.
Ding!

Huh?! What the fuck is this?! Naturally, I didn’t give up and kept spamming Level Scan over and over again, but it was all in vain.

[Access Denied!]
[Access Denied!]
...
...
Eventually, I gave up. I wasn’t sure why I couldn’t check her level. Perhaps the difference between our levels was too vast? Or maybe it was because I was a mortal, and she was a Demigod? Perhaps that was why I couldn’t peek at her level.
I wasn’t sure—maybe this skill could only detect the levels of mortals, not higher beings like her. Who knows.
PAAA!!!
Suddenly, Sona’s hand shot out, landing a powerful slap across my right cheek. The sting was immediate, and my head instinctively turned to the side. "Hey!" she yelled, clearly pissed. "How dare you ignore me and daydream in front of me?!" Her eyes were full of fire. "Do you want to die that badly?!"
Oops! I had completely lost focus there.
Realizing my mistake, I quickly straightened up and bowed deeply, my voice trembling with embarrassment. "Pardon my rude behavior just now!" I said, my words rushing out in an attempt to calm her anger. "I’m sorry! There were just too many things on my mind earlier, and I got carried away. Please forgive me! I promise I won’t let it happen again!"
"Tch! Whatever! Now answer my question. How are you going to help me when you’re just a mortal?!" she snapped. "Depending on your answer, I might kill you if I don’t like it," she threatened.
I instantly panic.
Ugh, dammit! Now that I think about it, the hidden quest didn’t even mention how I’m supposed to treat her injuries. Heck, I don’t even see any problems with her—if anything, she seems perfectly fine and healthy. Nevermind, think! Think! Think! There has got to be a way. The system wouldn’t have given me this quest if there was no way to complete it.
Then, suddenly, I remembered what John told me about vampires—the most precious thing in the world to them, the one thing they desperately seek: blood. And not just any blood, but human blood!
In fact, human blood was considered the most valuable and sought-after resource for vampires, far more than anything else. The way John had described it, their hunger for it was insatiable, and without it, they were nothing.
That’s right! Human blood! If I can offer her that, I’m sure she would be satisfied. Of course, whether or not my blood could heal her wounds or injuries—that’s an entirely different story. But based on what I know about vampires, I’m confident that my blood could certainly speed up the healing process.
At this point, I figured she might have some kind of internal injuries, or maybe even an illness or perhaps something even worse than that, though I couldn’t be so sure. Who knows what else she might be dealing with beneath the surface? The thought made my mind race with possibilities.
But no matter the nature of her condition, I was confident that my blood would still prove useful to her in some way. I had read enough about vampires to know that blood, especially human blood, held that kind of power. Alright, let’s give it a try!
I took a deep breath, trying to steady my racing thoughts, and finally managed to speak. "I might not be able to heal you directly, nor do I know what kind of injuries you have, but I can offer you something more valuable. My blood." I said it with as much confidence as I could muster, even though the idea of offering my own blood to this powerful being made my skin crawl.
Sona’s eyes narrowed, her gaze piercing as she studied me intently. "Human blood, you say? How interesting..." She slowly took a step closer, a dangerous glint in her eyes. "Heh, you’re pretty good, huh? I thought you were dumb, but it turns out you’re smarter than I thought."
I didn’t flinch. "Ha, thanks for the praise. Also, I know what blood means to vampires. It’s the one thing that can heal wounds and rejuvenate you faster than anything else. If you’re truly injured internally, it might be just what you need."
"Welp, I don’t know how you knew about my internal injuries, but since you’re willing to help me and offer your blood, I guess I’ll let you off for now. Although, I’d prefer it if you told me how you knew about my injuries." She said, her voice carrying an edge of dissatisfaction. "You know I don’t like secrets. If you want me to trust you 100%, it’s best you tell me everything."
I didn’t know what to say. I couldn’t possibly tell her about my system or that I function like a video game character. So, I simply replied, "When the time is right, I’ll let you know. For now, let’s focus on treating your internal injuries first." Of course, I lied.
"Very well, follow me then!" she said, turning around and quickly walking ahead of me.
Phew! That was a close one. I’m glad she didn’t question me further.
