Chapter 70: Weirdo Beastmaster Guy

[Total Superhumans Remaining: 2]

While I was struggling to hold on to the giant rock, the Beastmaster guy was smiling at me, as if he were actually enjoying the situation.

Huh?! What’s up with this crazy guy?! Why is he smiling at me at a time like this?!

The more I see him smile, the more I wanna punch him in the face so hard. Fuck! I don’t know why, but this is really starting to piss me off! Ugh, just stop smiling at me already! You damn clown!

Wait! Hold on... now that I think about it, this guy has been doing absolutely nothing this whole time. I couldn’t help but wonder why. After all, he took down the Renekton T-Rex boss so easily before, so why can’t he do the same with this Sky Dragon? Or is the Sky Dragon just too powerful for him to handle?

Out of nowhere, the Beastmaster guy started talking, "Heh, you’re pretty good. I’m surprised you’ve managed to last this long. Unfortunately, it’s about time you give up and accept your fate."

Huh?! What nonsense is this weirdo spouting about?! I couldn’t believe what I was hearing, struggling to process the bizarre words coming from this eccentric individual. His voice had an unsettling calmness, and the things he was saying made absolutely no sense. Seriously, what’s his deal?

I don’t know what this weirdo is trying to do, but for some reason, I’ve got a bad feeling about it. However, let’s not jump to conclusions just yet—let’s see what he has to say or what his intentions are.

"Well, I’m not gonna wait for your response," the Beastmaster guy said, his voice cold and unbothered. "Let’s just say that if you don’t give up now, then I’ll just make you die here."

"Huh?! Make me die..?! What the crap are you talking about?!" I shot back, completely thrown off. This guy was seriously starting to freak me out. Like what in the world is wrong with him?!

"Kekeke! Don’t worry, you’ll understand soon enough," he chuckled sinisterly, his eyes gleaming with an unsettling confidence.

It was then at this moment, the Beastmaster guy snapped his fingers loudly.

SNAP!

In an instant, the powerful hurricane caused by the Sky Dragon’s wings stopped completely.

"Sky Dragon!!! You can come down now!!!" the Beastmaster guy commanded.

ROAR!

Right away, the Sky Dragon, which had been soaring high in the sky, began its descent. With a powerful beat of its wings, it slowly turned its massive body, heading straight toward our location as the air around us seemed to tremble with its presence.

What the fuck?! He can control the Sky Dragon boss?! Holy shit! Who in the world is this guy?! I couldn’t help but wonder, my mind racing with curiosity and disbelief. This wasn’t just some ordinary person—he was commanding the Sky Dragon like it was a mere plaything to him. How the hell does someone even get that kind of power? The more I tried to make sense of it, the more confused and mind-blown I became.

"Keke! Well, do you have any last words before I kill you?" the Beastmaster guy said, totally cold, like this was just another regular day for him.

"I don’t understand..." I said, feeling completely lost and confused. I didn’t get why he wanted to kill me. The only requirement to complete this trial was to get rid of the damn Sky Dragon boss, so there was no point in fighting or killing each other.

"Huh? Don’t understand..? What is it you don’t understand?" he said, a twisted grin spreading across his face as if he was getting some kind of twisted satisfaction from my confusion.

Just as I was about to speak, he cut me off. "Hold on, let’s move to another location. It’s too dangerous to stay near the edge of this island—we might accidentally slip and fall off. Alright, come on, follow me."

After we moved to a safer location, which happened to be right in the center of this floating island, he finally stopped and turned to face me. Crossing his arms, he tilted his head slightly and said, "Alright, we’re good now. Go on, say what you want to say. I’m listening."

"Well... first, if you don’t mind me asking, why are you doing this? I mean, what’s the real reason behind wanting to kill me? Or perhaps did I do something wrong to offend you?" I asked, trying to keep my voice steady despite the tension.

I don’t know why this bastard wants to kill me, but one thing is clear, he’s definitely an enemy!

"Meh, I don’t have time to chit-chat with you, so I’ll just take it as those were your last words. With that said, now die!!! Hahaha!!!" He laughed wickedly.

"W-Wait a minute! Calm down! Calm down! Let’s just talk for a second, okay?! We don’t have to do this!" I said, my heart pounding wildly in my chest, each beat louder than the last as panic set in.

"Aaaaaaaaaaaggghhh!!! Noooooooooooo!!!" We heard someone screaming from afar, the panic and desperation in their voice cutting through the air.

It was at this moment, we watched in stunned silence as hundreds of superhumans from the other floating islands were falling down through the air, their screams echoing through the sky, a chaotic symphony of fear and desperation. It was as if the very heavens themselves were torn apart by their fall. Yet, despite the madness unfolding before our eyes, none of them seemed to land on our island.

It didn’t take long to figure out that each floating island was surrounded by some kind of powerful, invisible barrier. It was like a wall between the islands, stopping any superhuman from another island from landing onto ours. When the other superhumans hit our floating island’s barrier, the air around them flickered for a second, and then, just like that, they were violently bounced off, their bodies spinning away as if space itself didn’t want them here.

"Well, well, well, what do we have here?" the Beastmaster guy said, a twisted grin spreading across his face. "For now, let’s just watch the other superhumans fall. It’s honestly one of the few things in this world that really gives me a thrill. Watching them falling, screaming, knowing they’re about to meet their end... Ah, you have no idea how much I enjoy this! Hahaha!"
