Chapter 58: Getting Torture & Vampire

John twisted the knife, sending a fresh wave of searing pain through my body. I grit my teeth, biting back another scream. "Oh, that’s the sound I like to hear. Come on, don’t hold back your scream now. Let it out," John said, his grin wider than ever. "Music to my ears."

Ugh, son of a bitch! I’m not letting this bastard enjoy every second of this! No matter what, I must bear with it!

I clenched my fists, my nails digging into my palms. I locked eyes with him, my glare as sharp as I could muster. "I’ll never forget this! You’re definitely going to pay for this one day!" I said.

John’s grin faltered for a second, and his eyes narrowed. "Oh, you’re funny. Well, there’s no ’one day,’ because you’re going to die by my hand today." He let out an evil laugh. "Hahaha! But nice try, though."

Then without giving me a chance to rest, John went ahead and stabbed my right thigh this time.

"Aaaaaargh!!!" The scream ripped out of me before I could stop it. The pain shot through my leg like lightning, but I forced a smirk through the agony. "Ha, really? Is that all you got? Because I’m quite disappointed."

John chuckled, but this time, there was a hint of annoyance in his expression. "Oh, don’t worry. I’ve still got plenty of tricks up my sleeve. We’re just getting started."

The goblins behind John nodded in approval, their lifeless glowing blue eyes fixed on me, as if they took pleasure in watching me suffer.

John leaned in close, his breath reeking of blood and something foul. "You know, most people would be begging for mercy by now. But not you. You’re either stupidly brave or just pretending to be tough. I can’t tell which, but either way, it doesn’t matter. You’re still going to break eventually."

Out of anger, I spat at him, the blood from my busted lip splattering onto his cheek. "Hurry up, dammit! Stop running your mouth and just do it already, you piece of shit!"

Instantly, John’s playful smirk dropped, replaced by a cold, menacing glare. "Oh, you’re gonna regret that!"

I couldn’t help but laugh internally. Haha, got ya! Finally losing your cool, huh? Good. Get angry. Maybe if you’re pissed off enough, you’ll kill me faster. Even though John was trying his best to hide his anger, it was pretty obvious from his expression that he was clearly irritated by what I just said.

In a flash, John pulled out the knife from my right thigh, and blood began gushing uncontrollably from the wound. The sharp, searing pain overwhelmed me, but before I could react, I saw him toss the knife aside. Then, to my utter shock, he leaned down, his face moving toward my bleeding wound. Without hesitation, he suddenly sank his teeth into the raw flesh, biting deep, and began sucking the blood as if he were drinking some kind of strawberry fruit juice.

"Aaaaaaaaaaaghhh!!!" I couldn’t hold back another scream of agony.

No wait! As I looked closer at John’s face, I noticed something unsettling. His eyes were glowing a bright, unnatural red, and a shiver ran down my spine. His canine teeth had sharpened, becoming longer and more pointed than I had ever seen, making him look like a freaking vampire. The transformation was so sudden and dramatic, it was as if he’d changed right before my eyes.

W-Wait a minute! What the fuck is this?! Don’t tell me this bastard is a vampire?! Is that the reason why he’s sucking my blood?!!

"Y-You what the hell are you?!" I asked, trying to keep my voice steady but failing miserably. My mind was all over the place, and I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. "Don’t tell me you’re a fucking vampire?!" I blurted out, completely shocked.

"Oh? You know about vampires?" John said, clearly surprised and amused by what I said. "Interesting. Unlike Thorin and the others, they didn’t seem to know anything about vampires at all. Well, I guess it’s probably because vampires didn’t exist in their worlds, so that makes sense. However, the fact that you know about them... perhaps maybe vampires exist in your world? Or am I wrong?"

Well, obviously, vampires didn’t exist in my world. I only knew about them from movies, fantasy books, comics, and all that other fictional stuff.

Hmm, but now that I think about it... it actually kinda makes sense. This motherfucker is ridiculously strong because he’s a goddamn vampire after all. I mean, I’ve heard that vampires can live forever. That could explain it—if he’s been around for centuries, maybe even longer, he’s had more than enough time to master a variety of classes and skills. Hell, maybe that’s why he’s so damn powerful in the first place.

At this point, my body had grown severely weak from blood loss, and I could feel the darkness creeping in at the edges of my vision. I twisted my head away, trying to stop myself from throwing up.

"Hey, are you deaf or something?! Answer my question quickly, you idiot!" John said, his voice full of impatience and frustration.

At this moment, I gritted my teeth and forced out a chuckle. "So, you’re some kind of ancient, blood-sucking freak, huh? That explains a lot, actually." I was barely able to hold onto my consciousness. Goddammit! Can you stop sucking my blood already?! I can’t focus, let alone answer your questions properly, especially when I’m about to faint!

Seeing that I was on the verge of losing consciousness, John finally pulled back and stopped sucking my blood. With a slight chuckle, he said, "Oops, my bad! Didn’t realize I was pushing you that far. Alright, I’ll stop drinking your blood for now, so you should be able to focus a lot better now and answer my question properly." His voice had a casual tone, but there was still a hint of excitement, as if he were eager to sit down and chat with me the whole day, like we were best buddies or something.

"Well... er... actually I... nevermi—" Suddenly, everything went pitch black. My vision blurred, and I felt the weight of the darkness pulling me under. I didn’t know what happened, but I probably already guessed—it was most likely because I had lost too much blood.

"Hey! Don’t go to sleep yet! Dammit! Wake up! Stay focused and speak to me! Hey, hello! He—!" John shouted.

I tried to force my eyes open, but they felt numb, as if I had no control over them. Before I knew it, my body shut down completely, and just like that, I was gone.
