Mary’s heavy gaze had the whole crowd shivering as with each word said they felt like they were standing on sharp needles.

At this point in time, Rita felt like a sheep. She was going back into her sober state and everything that had happened immediately started rushing back into her mind, and she couldn’t help but inwardly face palm herself.

She didn’t even have the opportunity to say something back when a huge commotion immediately attracted the attention of the whole audience, prompting them to turn and look towards the hall’s entry, only for them to see a ragged, dirty girl walking towards the direction of the lu family, hatred visible on her face as she threatened them.

"You! Jane Lu! Look at what you just did! So you thought taking me to prison, so you thought framing me was going to make you and the whole of this dirty family survive??? I Anna I will make sure that you people wouldn’t live to see tommorow!"

It was at the same moment that the security immediately restrained Anna, as the upper society couldn’t help but gasp in shock and surprise, most of them pinching their noses in disgust as they could get the dirty smell emanating from the girl who surprisingly got herself out of the police station for some reason and in some ways they were still trying to understand.

They all turned their attention towards Jane, who just smiled as she briskly walked towards Anna’s direction, her lips curved upwards in mockery and taunt.

"Oh! look who we have here. Hmm... I wonder how you were able to get out of that place... but, umm, unless you tell me that I incited you to do all the nonsense that you did, then shut your mouth before I book you in for another lawsuit"

Jane’s voice was equally low and dangerously cold. Anna tried her best to keep her cool, but she just couldn’t, because right now she was facing the woman she despised most, and the woman she knew very well is the reason behind all her secrets being known to the public.

Anna was not able to say anything because Liam had immediately snapped his finger and a group of suited people immediately rushed in as they snatched Anna from the security guards, dragging her away from the scene but the lady was busy shouting and asking for justice or whatever Justice that was as she cursed Jane, she cursed the Lu family, She cursed the Big Six family as she cursed basically everyone Present.

"Oh, I’m so sorry. I think an occasion was just interrupted but Uum.. My apologies."

Jane immediately apologized to the crowd as she reminded them that they had an issue going on, making the Rita who was planning on how she’s going to make her escape immediately curse as she glared at Jane only to receive a smirk back.

"I... I....I.. I... drank too much and started spouting nonsense.. Hehe.."

Rita tried defending herself, but she just couldn’t because the more she faced Mary and her cold eyes, the more she felt like she was done, because it was at the moment that she realized she had spilled out all her secrets and that she could feel the glare of her father as his eyes bore behind her head.

"Take her away. Make sure you deal with her."

The same men who had taken Anna immediately rushed towards Rita, the moment they heard Ian’s command but it was at this same moment that a group of military men immediately stormed in and the moment Rita faced them, her face turned ashen as she preferred to be taken by the men that Ian had recommended Instead of the military men, because she knew she was in hot, hot soup and that they would basically kill her.

She turned to Ian and glared at him in hatred before turning to Mary and as if she had made her mind, immediately took something that was strapped on her thighs as she immediately threw it towards Mary’s belly.

"baby! No!"

The moment Ian noticed the direction of the pen knife, he immediately jumped and protected Mary’s body with his own as the knife directly plunged into his stomach.

The whole venue widened their eyes in shock and disbelief, seeing how their general had just been aimed at with a knife, a knife that was intended to kill his baby, but he instead protected his wife.

But Ian instead was not even worried about the knife that was plunged in his stomach, instead, he turned and tried to make sure and confirm that Mary was OK, only for him to meet a woman whose eyes were teary.

"What’s wrong with you? You could have died! Look at you. You’re not even concerned about yourself! What are you turning to look at me for? Just shut up! Don’t say a thing. Let me...Let me... Let me get ..somebody help me! I need to get this fool to the hospital!"

Despite the fact that Mary was thankful for Ian, one could still detect the hidden anger behind her voice, since the man did not even bother checking on how his stomach was doing, but instead they acted as if his life was nothing. It was an amusing and sad situation at the same time, but the good thing was that the knife wasn’t that deep to injure him, but instead, with just a movement, that knife fell to the ground and instead of being taken to the hospital, Ian just requested to be taken back home.

Mary did not argue much because she knows that she can heal him, and with them departing meant that the party couldn’t continue, and therefore the party had to be adjourned with different people getting out of the venue, some grumbling, some widening their mouths in surprise and gossip, while others were silently watching the environment, feeling seemingly disappointed because they intended to create a lot and a lot of connections.

Rita, on the other hand, was not even taken to the police station, but she was taken somewhere in an abandoned place where she was going to be dealt with perfectly.

It would have been OK if it was only Mary who she had pissed off but this time round she had equally pissed off Daniel, the don of the underworld, a man who doesn’t know the word forgiveness and therefore he was not going to let her go scott free. If there’s anything, he was going to fake her death and deal with the girl to the maximum.

"That was scary..."

Jane spoke to Liam as they were getting into the car, but she realized that the man’s mind seemed to be away from reality, and she couldn’t help but nudge him lightly and the moment their eyes met, she could detect the little worry in Liam’s eyes, immediately prompting her to caress his cheeks, as if asking him what was bothering him.

"That girl, she...."

Jane shook her head at him, as if telling him not to be bothered because Anna was not someone to trouble them, further, and that they could clearly deal with her in whatever way they wished to and no one was going to blame them, that is, if they didn’t know.

With each and every word that Ian said, Mary’s speed seemed to slow down as she absorbed her husband’s words and one could see how her cheeks immediately became tinted pink as a blush emanated from her and the sick Ian could only laugh the more he observed his feisty wife blush .
