Chapter 125: Chapter 120_2

Rong Zhi turned around and walked into the hospital, since he was here, he might as well check on He Songzhi’s condition and pick up Rong Jiazze on his way back.

-

In the ward, He Songzhi began to feel dizzy shortly after sitting down. Rong Jiazze advised her to sleep, but she insisted on waiting for Rong Fengmian. Instead of Rong Fengmian, Rong Zhi appeared.

He Songzhi’s slightly cloudy eyes brightened, "Little Zai."

Rong Zhi responded with a hum, walked over, and took her wrist, carefully examining her face.

"Mom, stick out your tongue."

He Songzhi opened her mouth and stuck out her tongue.

Her eyes were dark and tongue was coated.

The situation was worse than anticipated.

The research needed to be accelerated.

After checking on He Songzhi, Rong Zhi and Rong Jiazze went back to Huqing District. Jiang Gujun wanted to come up and pick up Bai Su, but Rong Zhi slightly turned his gaze, "He can’t move."

Beijing’s evening wind was stronger, moving around would likely worsen Bai Su’s condition.

Jiang Gujun was momentarily stunned, then nodded, "Alright, let Mr. Su sleep here tonight, I’ll come to pick him up tomorrow."

Rong Zhi: "Alright."

Jiang Gujun awkwardly touched the bridge of his nose, quietly expressing his displeasure.

So, Mr. Su’s plan to use his illness for sympathy worked?

If circumstances allowed, he’d love to stay at Rong Zhi’s house overnight and watch Bai Su’s drama unfold tomorrow.

Tomorrow is the weekend, Rong Jiazze doesn’t have school. With nothing to do, the little guy accompanied Rong Zhi to the lab to watch him conduct experiments in a lab coat.

But he was still young, and soon grew sleepy. Rong Zhi told him to go take a nap, and he obediently nodded. Before leaving, he carefully disposed of the garbage generated by Rong Zhi’s experiments.

Rong Zhi was waiting for the analysis report. His eyes fell on the boy’s departing figure as he pulled out his phone and opened up Song Yue’s chat window.

In the dead of night, Song Yue, for some reason, wasn’t sleeping, and immediately replied to the message.

She changed Song Yue’s nickname from Zeus to his real name.

Song Yue: [I’ve got some clues. Not long ago, someone contacted me, saying Rong Jiazze is their child. I mentioned doing a paternity test, and they told me to wait for a while.]

Song Yue: [I subtly probed that person’s information and roughly concluded that the family is either wealthy or influential, but specifics weren’t disclosed, and I don’t dare make assumptions.]

Rong Zhi: [Did they say when the test will happen?]

Song Yue: [We have to wait until they’re available to contact us, President Fei. According to my thoughts, I doubt this family is really related to Rong Jiazze. Who wouldn’t be anxious when they’ve found their child? This family clearly hasn’t prioritized Rong Jiazze; their attitude is too dismissive.]

Rong Zhi: [Hmm.]

He instructed Song Yue to continue following up on the situation. The analysis report arrived just then, and she turned off her phone’s screen to read through it.

The laboratory was brightly lit with fluorescent lights, the only sound the faint hum of the equipment. The quiet of the night deepened, and time slowly passed by.

-

When Bai Su woke up again, he could faintly hear the sound of wind and rain hitting against the windows. It seemed to be raining.

The forehead cooling pad was still icy, as if it had been changed, but his head didn’t hurt as much anymore. Whether due to the cold or getting used to it, he felt pretty comfortable.

Propped up by his left elbow, he sat up, pushed aside the blanket, left the bed, and shuffled with barely fitting slippers toward the bathroom he located.

The bathroom was well-prepared.

He washed his face, sweating heavily during sleep, his ragged shirt clinging uncomfortably to his back. After washing his face, he peeled it off and tossed it into the laundry basket, then turned on the shower to bathe.

When Rong Zhi came over, he saw someone standing by the bathroom without clothes on.

The man’s lower half was wrapped in a bath towel, his chest bare. His skin was fair yet defined, with a gorgeous and distinct Ab mark extending downward along his waistline, beautifully illustrating the blend of strength and beauty.

His gaze moved upward.

His jet-black hair was slightly damp, revealing a pair of enchanting, gentle peach blossom eyes. His facial features were elegant and delicate, his smile dashing and casual, resembling a handsome young gentleman of many charms.

The young gentleman’s hair tips were still dripping, water running along his neck into his deep clavicle, pooling there, like dew on a fresh leaf, hovering before falling, appearing both pitiful and alluring.

Despite the sight of beauty, Rong Zhi calmly shifted away his gaze and walked to the closet, opening the door.

Bai Su’s eyes narrowed deeply, as he approached behind the youth, stretching out his arms to encircle the teen’s thin shoulders, his chin playfully lowering against her soft shoulder, rubbing slightly, his lips curling into an attractive smile, laughing softly, "Little brother."

Rong Zhi endured the man’s overly suggestive warm breath, and extracted two garments with slightly more force, loosening Bai Su’s grip and pushed the clothes into his hands, "Put these on."

Bai Su held the clothes, raising an eyebrow.
