Chapter 115: Chapter 115

"Mattress."

The old man answered without thinking, "I don’t have that thing here."

As he spoke, he prepared to retreat.

But he hadn’t taken two steps when the old sound of the rolling door suddenly came from behind.

His face instantly grew solemn, and he grabbed the gun beside him, pointing it at the door, prepared to blow the head off anyone who dared to come in.

Instead, a silver flash appeared before him.

Two fingers, bone-white and distinct, holding a badge, casually waved in front of him.

The English words engraved on the silver slant were faintly visible.

The old man stared at the badge closely, a look of disbelief gradually mixing with terror, until his entire body began to tremble.

"Can you put the gun down?"

The young man’s voice was low and slightly hoarse, very distinctive.

But to the old man’s ears, it made his spine stiffen and his scalp tingle.

He hurriedly lowered his gun, crossed two fingers, and placed them on his forehead, bowing respectfully and reverently, his voice filled with apology and fear. "It’s Mei Ruo’s mistake, please don’t blame me, sir."

If someone from the hacker world were here, they would surely recognize that line of English letters spelled: Thoth.

Since hacking the Gemini Building in M Country three years ago, Thoth’s name has been hung on the wanted list by Gemini Building, now topping the list with a bounty twice as high as the second place.

But that alone isn’t enough to threaten the Black Merchant; what truly instills fear of Thoth is that he is not only a God-level Hacker but also an esteemed guest of Qianji Pavilion.

Qianji Pavilion, along with the Underground Moon Group and Night Wanderer Mercenary Group, are known as the world’s three major powers.

A year ago, a previously unknown seventeen-year-old boy emerged onto the scene, single-handedly killing the power-holder of A State and taking his position, becoming the new power-holder.

And when A State went through its major reshuffling, people finally realized that their new power-holder was actually the internationally renowned Pavilion Master of Qianji Pavilion.

During that month of reshuffling, all forces in A State that resisted Qianji Pavilion were completely eradicated.

Mei Ruo accidentally witnessed the scene of the young man cleaning house once.

Blood ran like rivers, a scene full of red.

The Pavilion Master of Qianji Pavilion is a madman.

A complete madman, under his absolute rule and power, no one can defy his orders.

His several competent lieutenants are also madmen, but the one with the most influence is undoubtedly Thoth.

Rumor has it that the two share a life-and-death bond; the Pavilion Master once declared that seeing Thoth is like seeing him, and even gave Thoth the only silver badge representing Qianji Pavilion.

In all the major forces in A State, even five-year-olds are forced to recognize this badge.

Mei Ruo is truly terrified.

He didn’t expect that by simply conducting business, he would draw the attention of this man.

He even thought of blowing this man’s head off just now.

Thinking of this, Mei Ruo’s body shook with fear.

Luckily, the bigwig didn’t hold it against him at this moment, only ordering him to help carry down someone from the car and settle them in.

"Do you have a room? I need to stay for two nights, name your price for accommodation."

The young man sat nearby, dealing with a wound, already having removed the mask, with an expression as demonic as a monster, incredibly cold and detached.

Mei Ruo inadvertently glanced up at this face, and his heart skipped a beat, blurting out, "Pavili..."

"Hmm?"

The young man soundlessly responded with an inflection.

Mei Ruo instantly clamped up, swallowing back the word ’master’.

Mei Ruo felt bitter, Mei Ruo wanted to cry.

So, can someone tell him whether this person is actually Thoth or the Pavilion Master of Qianji Pavilion? Or are the two brothers?

He looked exactly like the young man he glimpsed a year ago!

Seeing his troubled expression, the young man thought he was worried about not getting paid, and calmly said, "You won’t lose any money."

Mei Ruo: "..."

Even if you pay me, I wouldn’t dare accept it!!

-

Rong Zhi temporarily settled down at Mei Ruo’s small shop.

She checked 421’s body and, confirming he was merely physically weak, left him alone to fend for himself.

Fu Yaoyao soon arrived. She greeted Mei Ruo sweetly, causing him to nearly faint again.

What deity had he offended for top ten wanted figures to visit his rundown shop one after the other tonight, turning his shop into a high-and-mighty place, yet their aura pressed on him like a thousand pounds?

Rong Zhi didn’t trouble him, allowing him to leave after arranging a room.

Fu Yaoyao watched as Mei Ruo, over sixty years old, fled the shop like lightning, clicking her tongue lightly, "Senior Sister, he’s not even afraid we’ll clean out his shop."

Rong Zhi glanced at her, lightly raising her jaw to point at the unconscious 421 beside her, "Take a look."

"I stink, I’ll take a shower first and look afterwards~" Fu Yaoyao sniffed the mixed smell of days without washing on herself, her small nose scrunching up disdainfully.

Rong Zhi responded faintly.

This time, 421 messed up the plan; she only got the Number One reagent out, the other two destroyed in the research lab, unclear if Number One is the H-01 she was seeking.

She cradled the safe and researched.

It’s a mechanical combination lock; after a while of fiddling, Rong Zhi roughly figured out its structure, requiring multiple layers of decoding.

Mei Ruo’s shop had tools for disassembling mechanics, so she took them directly and sat on the ground, starting to disassemble the lock.

Unlocking surely required decoding, but since there was a faster way, why bother?

A few minutes into disassembly, the lock clicked open in the middle, falling into pieces in her hands.

Rong Zhi discreetly pushed the pile of pieces aside.

Inside the safe, three reagent bottles labeled Number One were protected by reinforcement layers, each containing half a bottle of transparent liquid.

Her eyebrow slightly raised, fingertips grazing over the three reagents, ready to take them out when something hard rested against the back of her head.

A man’s voice followed.

"Be careful, my shooting isn’t great, so I can’t promise I won’t accidentally fire."

Rong Zhi remained unmoved, closing the safe, facing the gun pressed on her head, gradually turned, switching the gun to her temple.

Yet she leisurely nodded, "Indeed, pretty poor."

421’s lips twitched, griping the handle tightly, keeping calm. "I’ll ask you three questions, answer me, and I’ll let you go."

"Oh," Rong Zhi lazily drawled, light and slow, eyes sliding past 421 to fall behind, suddenly curling her lips, narrowing her enchanting fox eyes, "Yao Yao, finished washing?"

instantly cursed inwardly, yet before he could dodge, a bullet embedded in his shoulder, causing him to release his grip, dropping the gun.

Fu Yaoyao toyed with the ends of her hair, her youthful face devoid of laughter, eyes fixed on 421 with malicious and dangerous light, while her right hand still aimed a sniper rifle at him.

"Senior Sister, he actually wanted to kill you." Fu Yaoyao softly chuckled.
