The Ultimate War Of The Apocalypse
Chapter 576 - 569: Self-Destruction

Chapter 576: Chapter 569: Self-Destruction

The Sanitation Worker launched an airstrike using airplanes, which allowed them to communicate with the Serpent People, giving them air superiority and the ability to use attack aircraft for ground strikes.

But on the battlefield, the saying "everything can change in an instant" was fully embodied.

Ram seized the opportunity of the Sanitation Worker’s interference but also the chance for airplanes to take off without being attacked by the Serpent People. They deployed all of their stored helicopters, and during this brief window, they launched a desperate attack.

For Ram, if those planes could only stay on the ground then they would be scrap metal, already scrap metal. So, seizing an opportunity to make full use of these otherwise useless helicopters was just for a one-time action, even if the helicopters had no chance of flying back. They had to give it their all in one fell swoop.

Malakel, Malut, and Kodok, these three small cities on the grasslands, lacked defensive capabilities. The Sanitation Worker occupied these three cities as support points in the Malakal Region, relying on numerically superior troops, armored forces with both quantity and quality, and the continuous combat capability brought by industrial production.

Now that Malakal had been ruined by the Serpent People, only Malut and Kodok remained. The Sanitation Worker had already lost their offensive capability, but they still had more than enough ability to protect themselves, and retaking Malakal was not impossible.

However, now, the forces of the Sanitation Worker were being crushed like dominoes, one after another, following the fall of one.

Victory and defeat, gain and loss, sometimes truly hang by a thread.

Larry and Thompson could never have dreamed that what was once a promising situation could suddenly turn into a catastrophic rout in such a short period of time.

Actually, Larry and Thompson didn’t even realize that the tanks and armored vehicles in front were being destroyed by armed helicopters, one by one.

The tank forces upfront were being continuously destroyed by the armed helicopters, but Larry was unable to command his tank forces to retreat and evacuate because not all combat terminal equipment, i.e. tank armor vehicles and individual radios, were connected to the same battlefield communication system.

So, Larry and Thompson still held out hope that the task force they dispatched could retrieve the Pyro-thief’s body and then return safely. That way, even if their original plan was not achieved, they could still turn what was a failure into a victory.

But soon, the unmanned drones lurking outside the danger zone finally detected something unusual.

"Sir, it seems we’ve discovered a large formation of helicopters flying below..."

Unmanned drones monitored below using cameras, not Leida, tracking helicopters and airplanes. This wasn’t a drone’s task, so spotting a few helicopters flying by at night made the drone operators unsure if it was real.

"Helicopters?"

Thompson stood up, he approached the screen, and then the drone operator fine-tuned the camera, using the infrared imaging carried by the drone, to see the heat emitted by the helicopters flying at treetop level.

Thompson seemed to realize something; he pointed at the screen, excitedly saying, "Our helicopters, they must be here to support us. Quick, communicate with the helicopters; I want to speak with them!"

Larry first showed a face full of surprise, but after observing the flying posture of the helicopters, his surprise quickly turned into shock.

"Oh, shit... Evacuate! Evacuate now!"

Larry screamed, then he said to the drone operator, "Evacuate quickly, Thompson, come with me, we have to get out of here!"

Thompson said in astonishment, "Why? Why evacuate?"

Larry’s face muscles twitched as he shouted, "It’s Ram’s Solar System! If we don’t leave now, we’re done for!"

Thompson instinctively shook his head, "No, no, that’s impossible, they don’t have the capability to fly! So how could they possibly..."

"How could they not!"

Larry pointed at the screen, yelling, "How did we get here? Because of E6’s air cover, we can fly, so the enemy can also fly. Now these are Ram’s airplanes, look at their flying posture, a three-machine formation, flying at ultra-low altitude. It’s the basic pattern of an air raid!"

Thompson still wore a look of disbelief, shouting, "The enemy? Solar System? Even if they understand the key point, I don’t believe they would dare to send out helicopters so quickly, risking it. As soon as we shut down our jammers, they’re dead, they dare do this?"

Larry angrily replied, "Ram is a madman, but Ram is a madman who knows how to seize opportunities! Most importantly, we can’t direct the Aliens, we can only use signals to tell the Aliens not to attack our airplanes! That’s Ram’s opportunity!"

After a moment’s thought, Thompson nodded and said, "Alright, there’s a possibility, but... let the jamming aircraft immediately fly away from this area."

Larry angrily said, "Damn it, don’t you understand? Ram is already here! We have at most a few minutes to escape. By the time E6 flies far enough away, Ram’s forces will have already landed!"

Thompson’s eyes flickered, and then he immediately said, "I have a way, a way! Have the pilots of E6 bail out immediately! We don’t need the plane anymore, let the jamming aircraft crash!"

"Then be quick about it!"

Larry reacted quickly, and Thompson was ruthless enough; indeed, they had proposed a sufficiently reliable method.

Thompson grabbed the headset; he had always refused to wear the headset on his head because he felt that it was uncomfortable having it clamped around his ears.

"Night Fliers! Calling Night Fliers, abandon the plane and bail out immediately, crash your aircraft as soon as possible, quick! This is an order!"

"Night Fliers received, over!"

The E6B, which had been circling in the air, adjusted its flight posture, switching from level flight to a nosedive, while at the same time, the pilots activated their ejector seats.

An E6B had one pilot and three electronic warfare operators. Now, their ejector seats launched into the air one after another, and they opened their respective parachutes.

Meanwhile, the E6B nosedived toward the ground, and just a few seconds later, this expensive, precious, and vital electronic warfare aircraft turned into a huge fireball.

The electronic jamming disappeared instantly, and the signals that could prevent attacks from the Serpent People also vanished in a flash.

The disappearance of the jamming signals was the most convenient notification.

Thompson urgently said, "The jamming’s gone, their helicopters will be shot down soon! This area is now a no-fly zone. With such a large signal, the enemy will definitely be taken down!"
