Chapter 558 - 551 Interference

Chapter 558: Chapter 551 Interference

"Nemesis over, out."

When Gao Yuan’s voice suddenly disappeared from the walkie-talkie, Rabbit sensed something was wrong. He simply called out again, not waiting for Gao Yuan to respond, and immediately said to the person next to him in an anxious voice, "Communication is disrupted, test it."

No need to test, the experienced Raphael immediately said, "Communication is disrupted! Communication is disrupted!"

As Raphael started shouting, You Zixing had already identified the problem on the side.

"Report! Communication is disrupted, we’re experiencing full-band blocking interference!"

In just that instant, Rabbit’s complexion changed, and then he whispered urgently, "Damn it!"

"Shut up!"

Raphael yelled at Rabbit, then he said aloud, "Immediately report the situation to headquarters. Nemesis is at the refinery; the enemy might have discovered him and is trying to stop Nemesis from destroying the refinery. The situation is complicated, but it’s not entirely bad..."

Rabbit nodded, then he said in a deep voice, "Yes, it’s not that bad. Even if the enemy wants to stop Gao Yuan, they don’t have effective means, but... why are the enemies releasing electronic interference? What are they trying to do? Do they have an ambush set up already? I can’t figure out the meaning behind the enemy’s interference."

Sirte shook his head and said, "This isn’t normal. The situation is very abnormal. I feel Nemesis is in trouble because mere communication interference isn’t enough to stop Nemesis from doing anything."

It was then that Rabbit heard a distant and dull explosion. It was brief and not very loud.

Raphael slowly looked at Rabbit and then said in astonishment, "That’s not the sound of an ammo dump explosion, nor is it the sound of detonating fake explosive. The explosions caused by the electronic detonators used by Nemesis wouldn’t be continuous."

Sirte said with a grim face, "No need to guess anymore, Nemesis is in trouble."

The sound of explosions came again, and then, everyone fell silent.

After a brief moment of silence, Rabbit ran frantically toward the car, while Raphael shouted, "Air raid, this is an air raid!"

Rabbit jumped into the car, but what next?

An unexpected aircraft had appeared, and the aircraft had launched ammunition, which suddenly made the situation extremely complicated.

Rabbit pointed at You Zixing and said urgently, "Get in touch with the main force immediately, tell them to prepare for a response right away; Nemesis is definitely in danger. If the enemy really has aircraft, then it’s a trap."

You Zixing started the car and said to Rabbit, "No, we have to go rescue and support Nemesis. You need to report the situation to the main force."

After that, You Zixing yelled, "Group one, follow me!"

Rabbit said fiercely, "Follow orders, don’t you understand?"

You Zixing replied without hesitation, "The order I received is to ensure Nemesis’s safety and follow Nemesis’s command. We’re moving out!"

Rabbit found that he actually couldn’t control You Zixing. Although he was a major shareholder of the Solar System Company, now that the Solar System Company was a military organization, everything had to follow military regulations.

Someone needed to meet up with Gao Yuan, and someone else had to urgently contact the main force confronting the enemy up ahead, to inform them of what had happened, because communication was completely cut off, and the only option was to run over and speak directly.

At that moment, another series of intense explosions silenced all debates before they could take shape.

The explosions were so frequent that there was no doubt Gao Yuan must have fallen into a trap, so the focus now was on how to carry out a rescue.

You Zixing led a ten-person squad, while Rabbit and his team only had three in total. Undoubtedly, in terms of combat strength, You Zixing’s side was at an advantage.

You Zixing shouted again, "To the oil refinery, quick, follow me!"

You Zixing and his team raced out in three vehicles while Rabbit could only harshly command, "Call for help! Call for people!"

Not being able to join You Zixing in charging into Malakal was because the standing order from Li Pengfei to You Zixing was to protect Gao Yuan at all costs, and so You Zixing was bound to complete this order even if it meant death.

As for Rabbit, his current task was to report the situation, clarify what had happened, where Gao Yuan was, and then either assemble Satan for a rescue or have the main force facing off with the Sanitation Workers press forward en masse—that would be a matter for later.

In short, the immediate goal was to do the right thing in the right way. If it required division of labor and cooperation, everyone had to handle their own responsibilities well.

Rabbit was truly on the verge of exploding, not because You Zixing wasn’t following his commands—he knew You Zixing’s response was correct.

What made Rabbit angry was that nothing was under his control anymore. As a sniper, any uncontrollable situation made him uncomfortable.

Everything had become complicated the moment the aircraft suddenly appeared.

The cars started racing across the grassland, where there were no roads, yet everywhere was a path.

None of the three spoke, as there was nothing to say at the moment. They didn’t know the situation with Gao Yuan, and even if they wanted to dispatch a rescue, they didn’t know how many people to send or where to go. Without contact, organizing a rescue was both difficult and troublesome.

Even rescuing a lost tourist on a mountain was hard, let alone finding and rescuing a person out of contact in a city, under the threat of zombies and enemy traps.

Now, the minds of the three were racing, pondering every possible situation. Now was not the time for rashness but for staying calm and analytical, to provide any valuable suggestions when they met up with the main force.

Just then, another massive explosion sounded. Even from ten or more kilometers away, the blaze that shot up into the sky was visible.

Sirte said without hesitation, "An oil tank has blown. It’s Nemesis’s doing."

Raphael immediately responded, "The oil tank area, Nemesis is still in the oil tank area!"

Sirte frowned, "The electronic detonator didn’t work, yet Nemesis still managed to blow up the oil tank. Maybe his situation isn’t that bad."

Raphael shook his head, "No, I think it might be the opposite. His situation could be very bad."

After a moment of thought, Sirte slammed his hand on his leg with a stern look, "Let’s analyze. The enemy has planes, obviously bombers or attack planes. If the enemy uses those planes to strike our ground forces, it would be disastrous for us, but they haven’t done that. This indicates they have a more important target, hmm, the refinery. They want to prevent Nemesis from destroying the refinery; otherwise, no matter how many planes they send, it would be useless. Based on the current situation, the enemy’s planes must have taken off from Djibouti, meaning they have a way to fly long distances without being destroyed by the aliens. This also suggests another thing—the enemy’s planes don’t have a large combat radius, at least not enough to cover this area after taking off from Djibouti. Guys, things are really bad."
