Chapter 354 - 347 Seasickness

Chapter 354: Chapter 347 Seasickness

Gao Yuan was very excited, because he had never been on a boat before, let alone a sailboat.

The ship’s white hull gleamed, its lofty sails billowed, and the sailors bustled about, while everyone else, besides Gao Yuan and Xinghe, was also busy.

They had to bring all the necessary supplies on board, because once they disembarked, there would be nothing left, so the preparation had to be as thorough as possible.

Two figures, one tall and one short, stood at the bow. There was no one to see them off, no cheers, they set out under the cover of night, but that didn’t dampen Gao Yuan and Xinghe’s excitement.

"Come, stand in front of me."

Gao Yuan looked at Xinghe and said, "You’ve got it backward, you stand in front and spread your arms, and I’ll stand behind you."

"But won’t your view be blocked if I do that?"

Gao Yuan was frustrated, and just then, someone quietly boarded the sailboat and came up behind him.

Gao Yuan turned around and saw that it was Avi.

"Ever been on a boat before?"

"No, never been on one."

A flicker of sympathy crossed Avi’s face as he nodded and said, "You’ll need ten days at sea. Since we no longer have naval power, no one else will either, so don’t worry about safety."

Gao Yuan looked at Avi, then he suddenly asked, "Are you here to see us off?"

Avi shook his head, "No, I’m boarding to leave with you."

"You’re going too?"

"Yes, we originally planned to send a small team, but we’ve put off deploying combat troops until the situation is clearer. I’ll go by myself so that I can accompany you all the way, and you don’t have to worry about us trying to snatch that thing."

"You never mentioned that you were going, but... okay, welcome."

Avi smiled and said, "This is our boat, and the crew are ours, so I should be the one welcoming you. Welcome aboard, Mr. Gao Yuan. I won’t disturb you any longer; see you later. Oh, there are fishing rods and a complete set of fishing gear on the boat, it is a yacht after all."

Avi left, and Gao Yuan said excitedly, "Ten days, we can fish on the boat, haha, fresh sea fish, the taste will be absolutely great."

Avi’s arrival essentially signalled the end of the preparations, so soon after Avi boarded, the sailboat quickly left the dock, unfurled its sails, and slowly drifted away from the port.

Gao Yuan was so excited that he and Xinghe stayed at the bow.

But, only for ten minutes, just ten minutes.

Once they were far from the dock and the rocking grew more intense, Gao Yuan started to feel uncomfortable.

When twenty minutes had passed, since the sailboat was slow and had only just left the port, Gao Yuan could no longer hold it in. Standing at the bow, he vomited.

"What’s wrong with you? You look very uncomfortable."

Gao Yuan turned around in alarm, looking at Xinghe incredulously and said, "I think I’m seasick. I thought that with my physical condition, that would be impossible!"

Xinghe shrugged, "What does seasickness feel like?"

Pale-faced, Gao Yuan clutched the ship’s railing and said, "It’s awful, really awful! But it’s okay; it’s just initial discomfort. I’ll get used to it soon."

Just then, he heard someone from behind say, "You’ve only lasted twenty minutes?"

Gao Yuan turned to see that Panxin and Li Jingang were smiling behind him. Panxin continued, "King Kong said your physical condition would prevent seasickness, but I said you’d definitely get it, and it looks like I was right."

"You guys, you..."

Li Jingang said sympathetically, "There’s no helping it. We can’t do anything either. This boat is so small and slow. The waves in the Mediterranean Sea are not big, but for you... No worries, just endure it. You’ll get used to it after a while."

Panxin sighed and said, "There’s no seasickness medicine available now, and I wouldn’t recommend it even if there were; it’s bad for the stomach. Also, you have to get used to it anyway."

Gao Yuan had felt carsick as a child, but it had only happened once or twice, and he had forgotten what carsickness felt like.

But now, Gao Yuan just felt his stomach turning upside down, and his head gradually growing heavy.

It was indescribably uncomfortable, and definitely unbearable.

With the rocking of the bow, Gao Yuan suddenly turned around and retched, vomiting everything he had eaten recently.

Panxin said with a look of concern, "Don’t stay at the bow, don’t you know it’s the most unstable part? Go to the stern, it’s a bit better there."

Gao Yuan grabbed Xinghe’s arm, then he held onto the railing, and slowly started to move towards the back, but looking at the water beneath his feet, Gao Yuan couldn’t help but throw up again.

Then Gao Yuan heard the low chuckles of Panxin and Li Jingang.

So these two assholes came to laugh at him.

Gao Yuan gritted his teeth, convinced that with his physical fitness, he could definitely get through this.

After passing through the mid-section of the cabin, Gao Yuan arrived at the stern.

This was a yacht, and at the stern, there was a circular sofa with a round table in the middle. This should have been a place for people to sit, rest, and have fun, but now, it was indeed full of people.

It’s just that no one was sitting; they were all clinging to the railing at the stern, either squatting or standing.

The atmosphere seemed quite eerie.

Just then, Yu Shunzhou, wearing an expressionless face, suddenly leaned out and vomited with a retch.

When Yu Shunzhou vomited, Cao Zhenjiang, next to him, followed suit and threw up too.

It was like a contagious disease; one threw up, and the rest followed.

Gao Yuan moved to the side, silently grabbed the railing, and joined this seasick brigade.

Yu Shunzhou gave Gao Yuan a glance, his eyes filled with despair, and then he whispered, "You’re here too...ugh."

"Yeah, I can’t handle it either."

Across from Cao Zhenjiang, they completed a brotherly conversation, and Cao Zhenjiang whispered, "Stay away from me... When I see you guys throw up, I also..."

Yu Shunzhou’s face was full of contempt as he said, "Didn’t you say you were a fisherman when you were young? Didn’t you say you’d be fine?"

Cao Zhenjiang was pale as he whispered back, "I thought I’d be fine."

"You thought a reservoir back home could compare to the ocean? Got a reality check, didn’t you? Still boasting?"

Yu Shunzhou looked gleeful at the misfortune, while Liu Deguang finally interjected from aside, "Can you stop talking?"

It was then that someone from behind said, "I can responsibly tell you that lying down feels a bit better, a lot better actually."

Gao Yuan turned around to see it was Li Yang.

He took a deep breath, accepted the water bottle Li Yang handed him, gargled, and then he whispered, "Thanks."

"Hang in there, after a few days, you’ll get through it."

With a weak voice, Yu Shunzhou said, "A few days? It’s only been half an hour. So, you mean after a couple days of getting used to it we’ll be fine?"

Li Yang nodded and said, "Yeah, you’ll get used to it."

Yu Shunzhou eagerly asked, "Oh, so once you’re used to it, you don’t get seasick?"

Li Yang started to smile, then he slowly shook his head and said, "That depends on the person. But what I meant by getting through it is getting used to the vomiting. On a small boat like this, it’s impossible not to feel seasick."

After finishing, Li Yang gave Gao Yuan a heavy pat on the back, and said, "So just endure it, everything gets better with habit. Once you get used to it, it won’t feel so bad."
