The Ultimate War Of The Apocalypse -
Chapter 256 - 251: Surrender Without Killing
Chapter 256: Chapter 251: Surrender Without Killing
Yu Shunzhou was suppressed by a group of fierce-looking people, whose clothes, weapons, and even reaction speeds were all different.
Bullets pierced through the tent, forcing Yu Shunzhou to crawl backward on the ground because the tent offered no cover.
But at that moment, Yu Shunzhou heard the sound of machine-gun fire.
The Type 81 rifle was one thing, and the Type 81 machine gun was another; both had sounds completely different from the weapons used by the Indian, and although the noise was chaotic, Yu Shunzhou knew Cao Zhenjiang and Nie Erlong were firing on the other side.
They had to divide forces, they had to maneuver tactically, they had to surround the enemy, otherwise, wasn’t that just letting the enemy escape?
Yu Shunzhou’s thoughts were simple and straightforward; if there was an opportunity, they simply couldn’t let it slip away.
But bullets were still flying all over the place, so Yu Shunzhou pulled out his last grenade, suddenly stood up from the ground, threw it with force, then quickly lay back down, removing the half-empty magazine and tossing it aside for a full one.
There were too many enemies; a dozen bullets weren’t enough to shoot each one.
Moving quickly in a prone crawl, although this was strictly speaking his first time on the battlefield, his first actual combat, Yu Shunzhou’s tactical movements were solid.
And everywhere around were tents—although not Yu Shunzhou’s favorite combat environment, it was close to the indoor battle training he was most familiar with.
The grenade was thrown high, then exploded after hitting the ground. Seizing this opportunity, Yu Shunzhou sprinted out. He turned two corners in succession, then ran out firing with his rifle raised.
The enemies that had just pushed Yu Shunzhou back were now mostly turned to shoot to the left. When Yu Shunzhou emerged, the few enemies who were on guard seemed unable to believe their eyes; they truly could not believe Yu Shunzhou dared to come out again.
Yu Shunzhou almost emptied a magazine because his targets were mostly lying on the ground or kneeling to shoot, so emptying a magazine in one breath with continuous fire wasn’t feasible; he had to shoot short bursts at each one.
But Yu Shunzhou’s burst fire was incredibly accurate because the distance was only about a dozen meters; missing was really quite difficult.
In a narrow passage, the brave prevails.
After completely emptying a magazine, Yu Shunzhou shouted, "Lay down your arms, and you won’t be killed!"
If he hadn’t run out of bullets, Yu Shunzhou wouldn’t have shouted that.
But just then, about thirty or forty meters to Yu Shunzhou’s right, two more people emerged, shouting the same words as Yu Shunzhou.
"Lay down your arms, and you won’t be killed!"
Our three-person army victorious in joining forces compelled about forty enemies to lay down their weapons and surrender.
Yu Shunzhou quickly reloaded his magazine, feeling like this was probably the end for him, so he wanted to create an opportunity for Nie Erlong beside him, but to his utter amazement, the several ten people in front of him actually lifted their weapons over their heads.
These people were different from the ones they had encountered before, as they used a kind of short assault rifle that even Yu Shunzhou couldn’t recognize.
However, these people seemed to have very advanced gear, though fighting-wise, well, since Yu Shunzhou hadn’t fought anyone else, he didn’t know how skilled they were; it just seemed quite easy.
Surrounded by three people, those soldiers indeed raised their weapons over their heads.
And at that moment, Yu Shunzhou thought he saw someone running between the tent gaps, so he yelled, "Leave it to you!"
The visibility wasn’t great, but it looked like there were people, and since Cao Zhenjiang and Nie Erlong had already come out, Yu Shunzhou decided to split their forces again, continuing the tactical interweaving.
There was no way around it; without enough firepower, they had to do it.
If poor, employ tactical interweaving; if sufficient, just keep bombing...
Xiang Weiguo had made it very clear that after the Aliens arrived, most heavy weapons became useless; what they had to do was to restore the honorable old tradition of the army, that is, to be light infantry, and to master the simplest light weapons.
So Yu Shunzhou didn’t wait for Cao Zhenjiang and Nie Erlong; he let them deal with the prisoners. Now, he had to take advantage of the momentum and increase the enemy’s disarray.
Continuing the tactical interweaving, Yu Shunzhou once again dashed out of a tented area, then he saw at least forty or fifty people screaming and running forward, while an officer dressed in a uniform that looked like a lieutenant, was desperately kicking a motorbike and shouting.
But those soldiers kept running, their speed made Yu Shunzhou feel that if he didn’t chase after them, they’d all get away.
Why would the enemy run?
Yu Shunzhou truly hadn’t thought about that—he didn’t have time to think about it.
A burst of bullets flew out, and the officer riding the motorbike collapsed to the ground.
"Lay down your arms, and you won’t be killed! Lay down your arms, and you won’t be killed!"
Now Yu Shunzhou could only shout that, because there were too many people and not enough bullets; even if these people all lay down for him to shoot one by one, he wouldn’t have enough bullets, so he had to accept their surrender.
Incredibly, the enemies did surrender. Apart from a small number who fled in all directions, the majority, at least thirty or so, immediately halted their steps and raised their weapons above their heads.
"Hey, what... what do we do now!"
Yu Shunzhou was already panting from the run, he held his gun up and waved it, saying, "Put your guns on the ground."
No one understood him, so Yu Shunzhou hurried to the soldier nearest him, kicking the man down and kicking the rifle away, shouting, "Throw away the gun!"
Rifles clattered to the ground, and then a gun went off accidentally, discharging a bullet with a loud bang.
"What kind of crappy gun is this, it goes off when dropped on the ground?"
Yu Shunzhou took a quick glance, then rapidly ran over to the motorbike.
The motorbike was on but not in gear, so it didn’t run off after falling over.
Yu Shunzhou dragged the body away with one hand, and then slung the rifle over his shoulder, lifting the motorcycle back up.
Without a gun in hand, if anyone had picked up a rifle and fired a burst at Yu Shunzhou at that moment, he wouldn’t have seen it coming.
But although dozens of people, either kneeling or standing, not a single one dared to pick up a gun and shoot Yu Shunzhou from behind.
Yu Shunzhou mounted the motorcycle, engaged the clutch and shifted gears, then the motorcycle immediately shot out.
Cao Zhenjiang and Nie Erlong, who had caught up again, were furious.
"Another damn person got away!"
After swearing furiously, Cao Zhenjiang yelled, "Chase!"
Nie Erlong finally asked, "What about the prisoners?"
"Screw them, chase!"
The two could only once again break into a run and continue the pursuit.
Yu Shunzhou got on the motorcycle, racing like a gust of wind, embodying the freedom of the breeze.
Individual soldiers were rare to see, and as Yu Shunzhou rode out of the tent, he found a large group of people only two to three hundred meters ahead of him, running forward.
An overwhelming crowd.
Yu Shunzhou was dumbfounded, not expecting so many people there.
Then among the crowd were three motorcycles, each likely carrying two to three people, blaring their horns as they squeezed forward.
Strangely, Yu Shunzhou thought a motorcycle could carry a dozen people, but each of the Indian’s bikes only carried two people, except for one that had three, which seemed like a waste of transport capacity.
Yu Shunzhou slammed on the brakes, grabbed his rifle, and fired off the entire magazine before yelling, "You are surrounded, lay down your weapons and surrender, surrender and you won’t be killed!"
Some of those people actually put down their rifles and knelt by the side of the road.
Yu Shunzhou was puzzled, feeling something was off, but at that moment, he thought, why not try charging into the crowd with the motorcycle?
After reloading the last magazine, Yu Shunzhou hung the rifle in front of his chest and once again charged forward on the motorcycle.
"Kneel down! Surrender and you won’t be killed! Surrender and you won’t be killed!"
Yu Shunzhou shouted all the way, riding through the crowd, and not a single one of the Indians, who were close at hand and sometimes even bumping into him, fired a shot at him.
The feeling was truly amazing.
Yu Shunzhou was about to catch up with the three motorcycles ahead when he saw one of the riders look back and start frantically shouting and slapping the rider.
It wasn’t far, Yu Shunzhou shifted into second gear on the motorcycle, twisted the throttle with his right hand, and drew his handgun with his left, catching up with the last motorcycle.
As expected, both were lieutenants on the motorcycle.
"Surrender!"
Instead of surrendering, they even dared to think about shooting at Yu Shunzhou.
At that moment, had any of the enemies fired a shot, starting a precedent, Yu Shunzhou would have been riddled with bullets. Thus, Yu Shunzhou decisively fired two shots, which missed, followed by another three shots, and finally killed both riders on the motorcycle.
Shooting from a moving motorcycle was not easy, which reduced his accuracy.
Twisting the throttle and moving forward, he encountered a major and a lieutenant.
"Surrender and you won’t be killed!"
Yu Shunzhou twisted the throttle too much, pistol still in his left hand, and almost crashed. He decisively shot the lieutenant in the leg, causing him to wobble, and the motorcycle twisted and fell.
Chasing further, the motorcycles ahead accelerated.
Glancing back and not seeing clearly, it seemed like there was a colonel?
The insignia on his collar shone brightly, anyway.
Yu Shunzhou couldn’t let them get away and yelled, "Stop and surrender, surrender and you won’t be killed!"
Yu Shunzhou tucked the handgun in front of his pants, twisted the throttle with his right hand, engaged the clutch with his left, and quickly caught up.
When he was parallel to the officer, Yu Shunzhou let go of the left handlebar, grabbed the gun again, fired two shots over the heads of the people on the motorcycle, and yelled, "Surrender!"
The one riding the motorcycle was also a lieutenant, and the one sitting was a colonel. After seeing Yu Shunzhou alongside them, the rider suddenly braked, and Yu Shunzhou braked with his right foot, causing the handlebars to shake, and as these mountain roads were tricky, his front wheel hit a pothole. Yu Shunzhou’s motorcycle crashed onto the ground with a clatter.
Instinctively bracing with his left hand, the handgun flew from his grip, and after his face slid across the ground to slow, he finally stopped.
There was no one in front of Yu Shunzhou, and a large group behind, but they had all stopped before the spot where he crashed.
Shaking his head, Yu Shunzhou got up from the ground. The speed had been relatively fast, around thirty-four kilometers per hour, so the fall was quite severe.
Dizzy, Yu Shunzhou stood up and couldn’t see where his handgun had gone. He picked up the rifle that had been slung in front of him, and yelled, "All of you, surrender and you won’t be killed."
At least knowing who was most important, Yu Shunzhou staggered over to the two officers who were frozen on the motorcycle, jabbed them with the rifle, and bellowed, "Get down, surrender and you won’t be killed!"
