Chapter 85: LAWRENDERER

Half an hour before the wall between worlds was set to vanish, bringing an end to the separation of realms, the battlefield had quieted.

The shadows had fallen.

Rand was defeated.

Peace, at least for now, had returned to the Beast Kingdom.

Within the estate, celebration murmurs echoed faintly through the halls. Meiyun and Ruxue were tending to the wounded. Hui’er had collapsed into a chair, grumbling about how boring her opponents were. Vornark sat silently beside his unconscious parents, eyes filled with sorrow and gratitude. But Chen Yu... he stood alone, leaning against the balcony railing of his mansion, his sharp gaze fixed on the horizon.

The sky was shifting.

And something inside him felt it—the calm was not going to last.

Chen Yu exhaled deeply. "It’s time."

He reached out within his mind, summoning the three ancient existences bound to his soul.

[End of All Beings]:What do you want to talk about, kid?

[Void]:Brat. I hope you’re not calling to whine again.

[Peace of All Beings]:If you’ve summoned us, I’m sure it’s not without reason.

Three glowing screens appeared before him, their text shimmering with otherworldly energy.

Chen Yu’s eyes narrowed.

"I’ve been thinking... This wall between worlds, it was built for balance, right? To keep humans, demons, and beasts from tearing each other apart," he said softly, voice filled with a tired weight. "But that balance was never real. You gave quests, handed out power, manipulated all of us into chaos."

He clenched his fists.

"I don’t want that anymore."

The wind blew across the balcony as silence fell.

[Void]:Hmph. So what? You’re going to tell us how to run the world now?

"I’m telling you this," Chen Yu said coldly. "No more quests encouraging races to kill each other. Make them grow stronger, yes. Give them trials, challenges, and goals—but not by spilling each other’s blood."

He turned, looking up at the sky.

"I’ll help you achieve whatever purpose you bound me for. But this time, we do it without senseless war."

[Peace of All Beings]:...How unexpected from a human. But noble.

[End of All Beings]:You’ve changed, kid. Fine, we’ll restructure the quests. It won’t be easy, but we’ll do it.

"But," End of All Beings continued, "we have a new problem now. With the wall about to fall... the door to the Upper Realm is opening."

Chen Yu frowned. "Upper Realm?"

[Void]:You think Earth is the center of everything? Foolish. Above your planet lies a realm ruled by entities so powerful, even reths tread carefully.

The sky above flickered faintly as if the universe itself was responding to Void’s words.

[Void]:Nine times, the Demon King has done this—merged the worlds, conquered them, seized control. Nine timelines. Nine failures. All in a hundred-year cycle. This is the tenth...

[Peace of All Beings]:But in this timeline, something’s different. You were meant to die, Chen Yu. A background character. A name that would be forgotten...

[End of All Beings]:Yet here you are—alive, transcendent, rewriting fate. You’ve caught the attention of the Upper Realm.

Chen Yu’s eyes widened. "So what now?"

[Void]:We must send ten individuals from Earth to ascend. The Upper Realm is watching. It’s a realm of absolute power—some are even potential reths.

[End of All Beings]:The ten must be the strongest this world can offer. Preferably SRR-rank or higher. If they’re R-rank, they’ll earn respect. If they’re weak, they’ll be crushed.

[Peace of All Beings]:We’re leaving the decision to you. Choose wisely.

Chen Yu stepped away from the railing, face now composed but solemn.

"Ten people... to represent Earth?"

[Void]:Yes. And remember—up there, strength is everything. You cannot offend the wrong person and expect to live. Power rules. Just like always.

The screens faded away, leaving Chen Yu in silence again.

He looked out at the distant plains of the Beast Kingdom, at the friends and allies resting after the hard-won battle. A storm was brewing, not outside—but above. A new game. A higher stage.

"I have to find the right people," he muttered. "And I have to become stronger. Much stronger..."

The wall between the realms would vanish in thirty minutes.

But Chen Yu’s real journey—was only just beginning.

AND ABOUT THE PEOPLE WHO WILL GO WITH ME I ALREADY HAVE SOME IN MY MIND

Hui, the demon queen... Demon King, of course... Meiyun, Ruxue, Roman, Vornark... and Ling Ling, the mysterious girl I met at the Challenger Association. That’s seven. I need three more."

"Maybe people from my past life... or I could use my Instructor Class to identify hidden talents. Either way, I’ll need to leave someone capable in charge here while we’re gone."

With a sigh, he called everyone together in the mansion hall.

"All of you, I’ve gathered you for an important reason," Chen Yu began, his voice calm but firm. "There’s a place—beyond this world. The Upper Realm. I’ve been asked to send ten people there. I plan to go... and I want you all with me."

Roman stepped forward first. "I’ve already made my decision, Chen. Wherever you go, I’ll follow."

Vornark clenched his fists. "I may have reclaimed the Beast Kingdom, but... I want more. My parents can govern in my place. I’ll go with you."

Chen nodded. "Good. That makes six of us. I want to add one more—Ling Ling. Meiyun, I want you to find her. She should be registered under the Challenger Association, probably B-Rank. Bring her here."

"Understood," Meiyun said with a confident nod.

"Hui," Chen turned, "I want you to personally train Ling Ling once she’s here. I trust you with that."

But Hui just crossed her arms and smirked. "Training, huh? Didn’t I say you owe me? You’re not going anywhere until you repay that debt."

Vornark coughed awkwardly and said, "Ahem... I just remembered something urgent," before vanishing with a teleportation spell.

Roman followed quickly, laughing as he left. "I already prepared the master bedroom. It’s big enough. Good luck, brother."

Chen froze.

Hui turned to Meiyun and Ruxue, who were standing beside him.

"And you two?" she asked sharply.

Meiyun rolled her eyes. "You forget, Hui—we’re his girlfriends. We were here before you."

Ruxue added with a soft but firm voice, "We’re not going anywhere."

Hui’s eye twitched before she finally smirked. "Fine. I won’t kill you. He might get angry. I’ll accept you as concubines. But tonight... you better be prepared."

Chen tried to speak, but Hui suddenly pushed him toward the corridor with terrifying strength. "No talking. Time to pay your debt."

The doors slammed shut behind them.

Outside, at some distance, Roman leaned against a pillar with Vornark. Both looked up at the sky.

"...He’s strong," Roman muttered. "Not just in battle, but..."

Vornark sighed. "Yeah. Even in bed, he’s undefeated."

Both stared into the distance, their expressions oddly solemn.

UNKNOWN SPACE — LOCATION: OUTSIDE THE FLOW OF TIME

In the endless void where stars no longer shone and time seemed frozen, a massive, circular stone table floated amidst pure darkness. Around it sat five cloaked figures, each radiating an oppressive aura that distorted the very fabric of space around them.

None of their faces were visible, only shadows beneath hoods darker than night. But the pressure they exuded could bend lesser beings to their knees from a continent away.

One of them—his aura a suffocating blend of decay and chaos—spoke first.

Reth of Darkness.

"The envoy I dispatched... failed," he said, his voice like the echo of a dying star, grim and hollow.

A scoff came from the left. The second figure leaned back in his chair lazily, as if unimpressed.

"Failed?" he sneered. "Tch. You always send incompetent vermin. You can’t even handle an Earthling? How pathetic."

"I underestimated him. His strength has evolved too rapidly—faster than projections."

The third figure, silent until now, spoke with a raspy, ageless tone.

"There’s no need to waste more of our power on Earth. Let him rise to the Upper Realm. If he dares ascend... that’s when we strike. It’ll be easier to dispose of him there, away from his fragile planet."

A pause settled over them—then the fourth one spoke. His voice was low but sharp, cutting through the tension like a knife.

"You still haven’t addressed the real issue... How did he form contracts with three Reths? That should be impossible under the governing principles."

The fifth figure, seated in the center—clearly the one with the highest authority—spoke with authority and finality.

"I’ve already considered that possibility."

The others leaned forward slightly, the atmosphere tensing.

The central figure continued.

"There’s only one known exception throughout all recorded cosmic timelines. A being capable of altering the rules of contracts... even influencing the laws written by the Thrones themselves."

The rest stared in stunned silence.

"Are you suggesting..." one of them muttered.

"Yes," the leader nodded slowly.

"He may be... the Lawrenderer."

Thunderous silence followed.

"Impossible," one hissed. "The position of Lawrenderer has been vacant for eons. Even the Thrones feared the last one."

"And to inherit that role, one must possess origin authority... even the Peace of All Beings cannot grant that casually."

"But what if," the leader replied, his voice deepening, "this child wasn’t normal from the beginning?"

Another figure clenched his hand, and space itself cracked around his knuckles.

"If he truly is the Lawrenderer... then he doesn’t just threaten our plans. He threatens everything."

The Reth of Darkness leaned forward. "Then it’s settled. We cannot allow him to ascend unchallenged. Once he enters the Upper Realm... we annihilate him."

The leader’s voice rang with finality.

"No mercy. The moment he steps foot in the realm above... we descend."

A moment passed. Then, all five vanished in unison, swallowed by the void, leaving only a trembling scar in space behind—one that pulsed ominously, like a wound waiting to reopen.
