The Tycoon's Mysterious Darling Wife
Chapter 442 - 444. Qin Yan, I am here.

Chapter 442: 444. Qin Yan, I am here.

Peter, caught off guard, lurched forward, and had he not been wearing a seatbelt, he would have flown right out of the car. He wanted to swear aloud, but confronted with Fu Hengyi’s stern, icy profile, he swallowed the words before they escaped his lips. Fine, he thought, they’re in a rush to save someone. If he dared to talk nonsense now, he might end up just like that driver from before. Don’t think he hadn’t noticed Allen’s shot that had swiftly taken care of the driver.

Fu Hengyi’s car twisted and turned on the winding road, making Peter’s stomach churn with acid threatening to spew forth. Clinging to the armrest with one hand and covering his mouth with the other, he truly worried he might vomit.

Stealing a glance behind him, he saw Allen sitting motionless, as if unperturbed by the vehicle’s jostling; this only deepened Peter’s sense of frustration. Here he was, an able-bodied, healthy man, getting outdone by Allen, who was practically half a cripple.

"Fu Hengyi, faster," Allen commanded in a cold voice. Peter’s eyes shifted uneasily. Already it felt like this could spell his end—if they went any faster, would he even have a chance of survival? Just as he was about to speak out, the car’s speed notched up another level.

"Ah," Peter screamed in agony.

Halfway into their journey, Fu Hengyi and his team came upon another car ahead of them, moving significantly slower. As Fu Hengyi overtook the vehicle, he caught a glimpse of a familiar face—it was none other than Yan Anbang. Yan Anbang noticed Fu Hengyi too.

Fu Hengyi made a gesture at Yan Anbang, a military signal for movement, to which Yan Anbang gave a nod and kept up with Fu Hengyi’s pace. Despite his faults and poor judgment of character, Yan Anbang had come from Special Forces and had been wrestling through the army ranks for years. His skills remained sharp, and following Fu Hengyi’s swift speed posed no issue for him.

As they neared the seaside villa area, the incessant sound of gunfire filled the air. Fu Hengyi’s expression shifted subtly as he accelerated yet again; speed was of the essence. Shen Qinglan, you’ve already engaged them. Nobody knew the situation on the ground.

**

Twenty minutes earlier, in the villa.

Qin Yan had already awoken; with such commotion outside, it was inevitable. Casting a glance at the heavy rain through the window, the corner of her mouth curved into a slight smirk. Shen Qinglan was truly audacious to choose such weather for a rescue mission. But did she seriously think she could just walk someone out of here? To think that a handful of people could save someone from her grasp—how naïve.

Qin Yan chose not to venture outside, opting instead to sit by the window, listening to the rain and watching the lightning streak across the sky. For the first time, she found such a thunderstorm to be quite pleasant.

In the woods, Shen Qinglan had just rendezvoused with Jin Enxi, panting heavily. She had been grazed by a bullet again; the burning pain was intense. Upon noticing this, Jin Enxi said, "An, allow me to take Ya Xi."

Her physical strength was far superior to Shen Qinglan’s, who had certainly expended more energy.

Shen Qinglan shook her head, "No need, I’ve got this." Jin Enxi and Ya Xi were of similar height, making it cumbersome for Jin Enxi to move with Ya Xi on her back. Being half a head taller, Shen Qinglan found it easier to maneuver with Ya Xi.

"But you’ve exhausted too much energy. You won’t be able to keep this up," Jin Enxi expressed her concern.

"I’m fine; we need to leave quickly," Shen Qinglan insisted.

As they spoke, sudden noises from behind alerted them, and Shen Qinglan spun around only to face Su Qing, whom she had once encountered in Beijing.

With her gun pointed at Su Qing, Jin Enxi wasn’t taking any chances. Su Qing raised her hands, "Don’t shoot, I’m here to lead you out. I know a way."

Jin Enxi eyed her skeptically, gun still aimed. Even though Su Qing claimed not to be one of Qin Yan’s, her true loyalty had always been unclear—who knew what this woman was planning.

Su Qing didn’t pay attention to Jin Enxi or her weapon. Instead, she focused on Shen Qinglan, "Follow me."

Shen Qinglan pursed her lips, "Enxi, let’s go." As she spoke, she moved towards Su Qing’s location.

"Wait." Jin Enxi called out, but Shen Qinglan simply urged her to hurry up, not slowing down at all.

Su Qing smiled slightly, "Aren’t you going to call your other companion?"

Shen Qinglan’s gaze sharpened as she contacted Andre. Andre was not far from their current location and quickly caught up. Su Qing led the three of them running swiftly through the jungle. With her familiarity, nobody would think it was her first time here.

The housekeeper and his men were relentlessly pursuing them. Stray bullets occasionally whisked past them when suddenly, Shen Qinglan let out a muffled grunt and knelt down. She braced herself with her hands on the ground to prevent her body from falling.

Su Qing quickly supported her, "What happened?"

"Something bit my leg." Shen Qinglan said, thinking it must have been a snake if she hadn’t felt wrong.

Under the faint light at the edge of the sky, Su Qing indeed spotted a snake in the grass not far away. Only after taking a closer look did she let out a sigh of relief, "Luckily, it’s not poisonous."

Shen Qinglan nodded and stood up. Seeing her already pale face, Su Qing offered, "Let me take the person on your back."

"No need, let’s hurry. They’re catching up." Shen Qinglan refused. She didn’t know if it was because she had exerted too much force earlier, but despite the commotion, Ya Xi had remained unconscious the entire time. If Shen Qinglan hadn’t just had Jin Enxi confirm that Ya Xi was still alive, she would have suspected that Ya Xi had been accidentally hit by a stray bullet.

Su Qing led them towards the seaside, but when they reached the coast, they found the housekeeper and his men had already arrived.

Seeing Su Qing appear beside Shen Qinglan, a fierce light flashed in the housekeeper’s eyes, "You really are a traitor."

Su Qing chuckled softly, "Housekeeper, that’s funny. I was never Qin Yan’s person, how could I be considered a traitor?"

"Don’t forget what you promised the lady. What does it mean now that you’re helping the enemy of the lady?" The housekeeper harshly questioned.

"Housekeeper, your current attitude is very unfriendly. I am not a subordinate of Qin Yan and therefore do not have to listen to you. Whom I choose to help or not help is my freedom, and it seems to have nothing to do with you."

"The lady saved your life."

"So I did ten things for her. I’ve given back more than just one life." Su Qing said with a hint of hatred flickering quickly in her eyes.

The housekeeper looked at her coldly and then turned to Shen Qinglan, "You have nowhere to run now. Do you think that with Su Qing’s help, you can escape? Our people have encircled the entire area, even if you grow wings, it would be futile."

Upon hearing this, Shen Qinglan’s expression remained unchanged. She had anticipated from the beginning that this operation wouldn’t go smoothly. If she wasn’t mistaken, Qin Yan intended to go all out to kill her this time.

Knowing what she was about to face, Shen Qinglan felt no fear but instead looked at Su Qing, "It seems I’m going to involve you this time."

Su Qing shrugged, appearing indifferent, "It was my own choice to meddle, it has nothing to do with you."

"I’m afraid I won’t be able to leave here safely this time. Since I’m likely to die, can you tell me who you really are? Why are you helping me?"

Su Qing chuckled lightly, "I say, Miss Shen, you really have quite the nerve. With the situation as it is, you actually have the mind to be concerned about my identity. Are you really that curious about who I am?"

"Yes, I am very curious," Shen Qinglan admitted crisply.

"Oh, come on, An, why not just ask her directly?" Jin Enxi, who had been standing by Shen Qinglan’s side listening to their conversation, couldn’t help but speak up. She looked toward Su Qing, "I’m asking you, are you Qin Mu?"

Su Qing was briefly taken aback, "Qin Mu? Who is that?"

Shen Qinglan had been closely watching Su Qing’s expression ever since Jin Enxi asked the question. Seeing Su Qing’s genuine-looking response, she felt a deep sense of disappointment. Could it be that she really wasn’t the one?

"Then do you know someone named Qin Mu?" Jin Enxi asked again.

Su Qing laughed, "I don’t know Qin Mu, and this is the first time I’m hearing this name. However, ladies, it doesn’t seem like the right time for this discussion. Look, their guns are pointed at our heads. Do you really think we should continue chatting?"

Unbeknownst to them, the torrential rain had stopped, the sky had completely brightened, and dawn was bringing light into view, widening their field of vision. Qin Yan, carried by two of her men, also arrived at the seaside.

"Shen Qinglan, we finally meet again," Qin Yan said with a light chuckle.

This was the first time Shen Qinglan had seen Qin Yan since that MD trip. When Andre saw Qin Yan, his eyes immediately turned red with rage. Cissily was still lying unconscious in bed, showing no signs of waking up, and this woman was the main culprit.

Shen Qinglan put Ya Xi down and handed her over to Jin Enxi, then stepped forward, "Qin Yan, I’m here now. You can let my friends go."

"Haha, Shen Qinglan, are you joking with me?" Qin Yan seemed to have heard the funniest joke in the world.

"What else could you want at this point? You went to great lengths to capture Ya Xi, wasn’t it just to lure me here? Now that I’m here, let them go. I’ll stay," Shen Qinglan said calmly, her cold eyes devoid of emotion.

Jin Enxi’s face changed drastically upon hearing this, "An, you can’t do this."

"Who would’ve thought you’d be so loyal and righteous. Oh, no, you’ve always been loyal and righteous; otherwise, why would these people willingly come here for you?" Qin Yan said, smiling. She was in high spirits; Shen Qinglan and the others were formidable opponents, and even she had to admit, these few were Allen’s finest works. But what did it matter? For many hands make light work—they were only four people, while she had ten times their number. Considering their significant loss of energy, if they wanted to leave alive, they’d need to sprout wings. And even if they had wings, she’d shoot them down from the sky.

"So, no matter what, you’re not willing to let them go?" Shen Qinglan asked with a heavy voice.

Qin Yan nodded, "Look at the ghost I’ve become now, thanks to them. The doctors already said I don’t have much longer to live. Since that’s the case, why should I let you off easily? It’s lonely on Huangquan Road, having you all for company would make it livelier."

"Qin Yan, you must be a freaking psychopath," Jin Enxi burst out angrily. She had encountered all sorts of people, including some with peculiar fetishes, and some who committed crazy deeds for revenge. But Qin Yan was in a league of her own.

To get back at her enemy, she married him, bore his children, sent her own daughter to Hell, and watched her die without flinching. Such heartlessness was rare in this world. No, she was worse than an animal, for even animals protect their offspring.

Qin Yan’s eyes narrowed, and a gunshot rang out. Had Jin Enxi not reacted quickly and dodged to the side, that bullet would have taken her life. She sharply turned to look at the housekeeper, who still held the smoking gun.

Jin Enxi’s gaze turned icy as she looked at the housekeeper and snorted coldly. This damned housekeeper, she would deal with him first at the earliest opportunity. If not for him, Eden wouldn’t have been injured, Cissily wouldn’t be in a vegetative state, and Qin Yan wouldn’t have had the chance to jump around.

The housekeeper, seemingly oblivious to Jin Enxi’s contemptuous gaze, spoke coldly, "Speak respectfully to the lady."

"Heh, truly Qin Yan’s dog, so obedient indeed. I just want to know, are you so loyal to Qin Yan because she’s truly sincere to you? Do you even know how she treats her own people? The pair that followed her back then died a miserable death, and Qin Yan didn’t even glance at them."

The housekeeper’s face remained expressionless, "They were useless, and they deserved to die."

Jin Enxi sneered, "Birds of a feather flock together, indeed. You and Qin Yan are both no good. What about you all?" she looked toward the group surrounding them, "Are you willing to be mere pawns in Qin Yan’s hands, to be discarded without a second thought the moment you’re useless?"

Those people had been thoroughly trained by Qin Yan and the housekeeper; they wouldn’t waver at Jin Enxi’s words.

"Don’t bother trying to sow discord, they won’t listen to you," Qin Yan said with a smile, but her smile in front of you was anything but beautiful; it was horrifying.

Jin Enxi shook her arms, "Qin Yan, stop laughing. Do you know how scary you look right now? Stop plaguing us."

A flash of murderous intent crossed Qin Yan’s eyes. Just as the housekeeper was about to raise his handgun again, Jin Enxi fired first. The shot was aimed at Qin Yan; the housekeeper, unable to react in time, shielded Qin Yan with his body.

The bullet didn’t hit any vital parts of the housekeeper, only his shoulder. He grunted and blood splattered on Qin Yan’s face.

With an impassive face, Qin Yan wiped the blood from her face with her sleeve and signaled to her men to shoot. Then, a voice suddenly rang out, "Qin Yan, don’t you dare."

It was Allen and Fu Hengyi who had arrived.

Qin Yan looked in the direction of the voice and saw Fu Hengyi and Allen getting out of their car. She couldn’t help but laugh, "Shen Qinglan, I must admit, you really know how to bring completely opposing people together. Seeing these two devoted men, doesn’t it move your heart?"

Shen Qinglan stared straight at Fu Hengyi, heaving a sigh in her heart. Fu Hengyi had come after all. She should have known this man wouldn’t just obediently wait for her back in Beijing as she had told him.

Fu Hengyi also looked at Shen Qinglan, seeing her drenched and pale, but thankfully without any apparent injuries, which put him at ease. However, he was puzzled by the woman who appeared at Shen Qinglan’s side, unsure who she might be.

The current situation had Shen Qinglan and a few others trapped on the cliff by the housekeeper’s men, while Allen’s men surrounded Qin Yan.

"Qin Yan, you’re out of options now, release them," Allen said with a cold voice.

Qin Yan completely ignored the guns in Allen’s hands, her face the picture of composure. In the current situation, Allen didn’t dare shoot, considering the precious person they held captive.

"Allen, I thought we were on the same side. Them..." Qin Yan had spotted Yan Anbang and pointed at him, "He, and her father, they conspired to kill your father, and I want to avenge him. Why do you keep stopping me?"

"I’ve said that I won’t stop you from seeking revenge, but you can’t hurt her. Otherwise, don’t blame me for not recognizing our acquaintance," Allen ignored Qin Yan’s accusation.

Yan Anbang stepped forward to the forefront, "Qin Yan, I’m here. Where is my daughter?"

"Isn’t your daughter right there?" Qin Yan pointed towards Ya Xi. Ya Xi was leaning into Jin Enxi’s embrace, looking as if she were asleep. Yan Anbang’s face changed slightly, "What have you done to my daughter?"

"What could I do? I’ve been merciful with her, not making her go through the same experience a second time, only making her remember the memories she had forgotten." She stopped there, looking at Shen Qinglan, "Actually, I think you should thank me. Ya Xi had forgotten you, but I made her remember you. Shouldn’t you be grateful to me?"

Shen Qinglan kept a solemn face and remained silent.

In Beijing, Anan had been crying incessantly since early this morning. As soon as she opened her eyes, she demanded to see her daddy and mommy. No matter how Chu Yunrong tried to soothe her, nothing worked, not even the photo of Shen Qinglan that had been a surefire solution in the past few days.

Watching Anan’s cheeks turn bright red with crying, even her forehead veins bulging, Chu Yunrong felt extremely distressed. She kept calling her granddaughter her "little darling," but Anan was having none of it.

"Anan, your daddy and mommy will be back soon. Can you stop crying, please? Your crying is breaking grandma’s heart," Chu Yunrong pleaded as she held Anan, her face filled with urgency.

Shen Qian came out of his room, took the child in his arms, and gently rocked her. "Anan, be good, grandpa is here. Don’t cry, Anan."

"Mama," Anan cried with her little nose all red, looking utterly pitiful.

"I’ll contact Qinglan," Chu Yunrong said. But unsurprisingly, she couldn’t reach her, and Fu Hengyi’s phone was also turned off. "What’s with these two? They can’t even be found, leaving their son and not saying a word. It’s been so many days without a single phone call; it’s simply outrageous."

Chu Yunrong verbalized her complaints, but her heart was increasingly worried and afraid. It had been five or six days with no contact from Shen Qinglan, and her eyelids had been twitching non-stop these past few days, giving her an ominous premonition.

"Aqian, you know where Qinglan went, don’t you?" Chu Yunrong looked over at Shen Qian. Shen Qian had been on leave from work and staying at home since Shen Qinglan left, which only intensified Chu Yunrong’s anxiety.

"Yun Rong, Qinglan and Hengyi are together, they should be fine. What’s most important now is to get Anan to stop crying. If she keeps this up, she’ll ruin her voice."

Chu Yunrong was anxious about her granddaughter’s wailing, but she truly was at a loss about what to do with Anan, who seemed hellbent on crying her heart out.

The commotion downstairs woke Old Sir Shen, who hurried down the stairs. "What’s the matter with Anan?"

"She’s been looking for Qinglan since this morning, and now I can’t even contact her. It’s driving me crazy," Chu Yunrong explained.

Old Sir Shen sighed inwardly, feeling the mother-child bond, and took Anan in his arms. "Anan, I’ll take you to find mommy. Stop crying now."

"Mama, want mama," Anan sobbed.

"Alright, we’ll go find your mama now," Old Sir Shen soothed her with a gentle voice, a tenderness even Shen Qinglan had never experienced.

Old Sir Shen carried Anan around the courtyard. Knowing they were going to find her mama, Anan’s cries slowly subsided to sobs.

"Anan, you’re a boy, you can’t always cry. Your mama will be unhappy if she sees you like this, understand?"

But Anan was focused on finding her mama, looking around with wide eyes, not taking in Old Sir Shen’s words. Even if she did understand, she couldn’t grasp their meaning.

She pointed her hand randomly, "Mama."

Old Sir Shen followed the direction she pointed, and they walked outside for a long time. Anan was nearly a year old now and had gained quite a bit of weight. After all this toiling, Old Sir Shen felt he could hardly bear the weight, but he still held Anan steadily in his arms.

Chu Yunrong followed behind Old Sir Shen. Seeing him struggling, she quickly spoke up, "Dad, let me hold her."

Old Sir Shen shook his head, "I’m fine, it’s just a child, I can carry her."

After more than an hour of walking, Anan finally fell asleep from exhaustion. Old Sir Shen then took her back inside, and seeing Anan’s peaceful sleeping face, all the adults let out a sigh of relief.

"Dad, is your arm okay?" Chu Yunrong inquired.

Old Sir Shen waved it off, "I’m fine. Take good care of Anan, I’ll go up and rest a bit."

Shen Qian immediately stepped forward to support Old Sir Shen and helped him upstairs. In the room, Old Sir Shen looked at Shen Qian, "Still no contact?"

Shen Qian nodded, "Yes, not only Qinglan, but Heng Yi is also unreachable. Dad, nothing bad will happen, right?"

"Don’t scare yourself. They will be okay. Is everything taken care of at the Military Region?"

"It’s all taken care of, but this time Heng Yi left the unit without permission, so he’ll inevitably be punished when he gets back," Shen Qian said.

Old Sir Shen gestured dismissively, "Those are minor concerns for now; Hengyi will deal with it when he returns. Reassure Yun Rong, and don’t let her mood affect the child."

"Dad, I understand. You should rest too."

Old Sir Shen nodded and closed his eyes to rest, but how could he sleep now? He had no idea about Shen Qinglan’s situation, and his heart wasn’t that strong. "My dear wife, you must protect Lanlan and Hengyi from heaven and keep them safe."

**

Y Country, seaside villa.

Qin Yan looked at Yan Anbang’s furiously angry face and laughed lightly, "Yan Anbang, seeing you like this really makes me happy. You have no idea how long I’ve waited for this day."

"Qin Yan, if you want my life, I’ll give it to you, as long as you spare my daughter." Ya Xi has already suffered enough; why can’t Qin Yan just let her go?

"Uh, what would I do with your life? And don’t blame me for being ruthless; blame Ya Xi for her misfortune in having a father like you. You should choose your next life more wisely. Yan Anbang, I’m curious, do you regret it?"

Yan Anbang definitely regretted everything; the woman in front of him had brought his family to ruin, and now his daughter had ended up like this. He wished he could tear Qin Yan to pieces.

Unconcerned by Yan Anbang’s glare, Qin Yan’s eyes sparkled with pleasure, "Ah, today is a beautiful day. I haven’t felt this happy in a long time. It’s also the first time we’ve had so many people gathered together like this; truly a rare occasion. I think we should pop open a bottle of champagne to celebrate."

Jin Enxi looked at Qin Yan with disdain while Shen Qinglan signaled her discreetly. Jin Enxi nodded slightly and quietly started to move her feet when Qin Yan wasn’t looking.

"Yan Anbang, you should regret it. You made me lose the person I loved most, so naturally, I want you to taste this kind of pain."

Yan Anbang had never regretted killing Carl; he was a soldier, and when Carl had ruthlessly slain the citizens of Country Z, it was his duty. His only regret was that he had not seen through Qin Yan’s true face earlier, having been deceived by this woman for so many years, causing harm to the people closest to him.

"Unfortunately, Shen Qian isn’t here. I actually wanted Shen Qian to witness today’s spectacle, it must have been especially thrilling," Qin Yan said with a cruel smile.

It was at this moment that Ya Xi woke up. The moment she opened her eyes, she saw Shen Qinglan and the people around her, and her eyes immediately filled with panic and fear. If Shen Qinglan hadn’t quickly held her steady to prevent her from struggling, Ya Xi might have tried to run away.

"Let go of me, don’t touch me, get away, get away," Ya Xi screamed in terror, and seeing her like this made Fu Hengyi’s heart sink. When he looked at Shen Qinglan, he saw that her eyes were full of pain.

As Ya Xi struggled, her hand accidentally struck Shen Qinglan’s face with a slap that resounded in everyone’s ears, causing Allen and Fu Hengyi’s expressions to shift.

Allen’s face turned dark immediately, and Fu Hengyi looked displeased as well. Su Qing stepped forward and knocked Ya Xi out again with a chop of her hand.

"Qin Yan, I can give you my father’s ashes," Allen suddenly spoke, drawing Qin Yan’s attention.

Qin Yan’s eyes gleamed, "Where are his ashes?"

"I can give you the ashes, so you can be with him after death, but you have to let them go," Allen stated his condition.

At this moment, what Qin Yan hadn’t noticed was that Fu Hengyi had already left Allen’s side, replaced by Peter standing behind Allen.

Qin Yan sneered, "Allen, do you think I would let these people go just for a dead man’s ashes?"

"You certainly don’t have to, but I can also feed Carl’s ashes to a dog and then lock the dog in the Beast Cage, ensuring you never get him. Even if there is a next life, he can’t reincarnate."

In Qin Yan’s hometown, there was a belief that if a person did not rest in peace after death, they could not be reincarnated and would forever roam the earth as a lonely ghost, unable to transcend even after a hundred lifetimes. Allen had only recently learned of such beliefs, likely the reason Qin Yan was so desperate to obtain Carl’s ashes.

Indeed, Qin Yan’s expression drastically changed at the mention of Carl; this woman’s emotions were easily unsettled when it came to him.

"Allen, you wouldn’t dare."

"You know I would," Allen said indifferently.

Yes, he would dare, and so Qin Yan couldn’t risk it. Her Carl could not become a lonely ghost. He had promised her, in their next life he would surely marry her, be with only her forever, and they would have children—all the things they hadn’t achieved in this life, they would slowly fulfill in the next.

From the corner of his eye, Allen saw Fu Hengyi slowly approaching Qin Yan and continued to speak, "Qin Yan, this is Carl’s ashes." He lifted his hand, on which was a plain ring.

Qin Yan’s gaze fixed on the ring, and her face darkened, "Allen, you dare to deceive me." She was furious.

"I haven’t deceived you. Nowadays, there’s technology that can turn ashes into a ring, letting the person you care about stay with you forever. Don’t you know of such technology?"

Of course, Qin Yan had heard of such technology, but it never occurred to her that what she had been seeking so desperately had already been before her eyes all this time. Allen had worn that plain ring for many years, and she had never imagined it could be Carl’s ashes.

"You dare, how dare you do this." Qin Yan trembled all over in anger, even her lips quivered slightly.

Allen chuckled lightly, "There’s nothing in this world I dare not do. You’ve known this for a long time, haven’t you? Can we talk now? I’ll give you his ashes, you let these people go."

Qin Yan sneered coldly, "Dream on. If I kill all of you, then the ring will naturally be mine." She quickly accepted the reality of the ring being Carl’s ashes. After all, it was not hard to understand; she had searched every possible place and found nothing. She had once suspected that Allen had thrown away Carl’s ashes, only to find out they were in his possession. What could be safer than keeping them on one’s own body?

"Qin Yan, you are pitiable, you know why?" Allen laughed, his laughter sinister.

Shen Qinglan realized what Allen wanted to do the moment she saw this scene and shouted loudly, "Allen, you can’t do this." Telling Qin Yan the truth now would surely drive her mad. A lunatic is capable of things beyond normal comprehension, and it was certain that all of Qin Yan’s hatred would be transferred to Allen, sealing his fate for sure.

Allen glanced in Shen Qinglan’s direction, his eyes tender, "Xiaoqi, seeing that you care about me, I am very happy." Was this concern? For now, let’s just assume it is.

Allen turned his head to look at Qin Yan. Fu Hengyi was getting closer and closer to her. The housekeeper stood by Qin Yan’s side, his attention focused on Allen, and for a moment, he didn’t notice that Fu Hengyi had left his original position.

"You’ve been mistaken about your enemy all this time." Allen said, "Actually, it wasn’t Shen Qian and Yan Anbang who killed Carl, it was me." He spoke nonchalantly of the earth-shattering secret hidden in his heart.

Everyone present wore a look of surprise, or more accurately, disbelief.

"No, impossible. Carl’s subordinates personally told me that Carl was killed by Shen Qian and Yan Anbang. I even saw his body with my own eyes. It can’t be you, Allen. Don’t try to deceive me into sparing them, they all have to pay for Carl’s life today." Qin Yan’s expression was ferocious.

"Do you think I would use such a lame lie to fool you, Qin Yan? Are you questioning your own intelligence or mine?" Allen said disdainfully.

Watching him go all out to provoke Qin Yan, Peter held his forehead. It seemed that this madman was determined to fight it out with Qin Yan to the end. He glanced in Shen Qinglan’s direction, shaking his head. A beauty is a source of trouble indeed.

Shen Qinglan stared intently at the housekeeper, her gun already charged and ready to shoot. If anything went wrong, she would be the first to take out the housekeeper.

Allen looked at Qin Yan’s distorted face with great satisfaction, feeling quite pleased. Indeed, seeing others in agony brought him joy.

"Actually, my father wasn’t dead at the time. Although he was critically injured, he still breathed his last. I took him away and then had a man of similar build put on his clothes. Aren’t you curious why Shen Qian and Yan Anbang mutilated Carl’s face after they killed him? Let me tell you, I did that too. Otherwise, how would you have handled it if you recognized that it wasn’t him?"

"I put in a lot of effort to save Carl, but I hated him. I sliced off his flesh bit by bit..." Allen narrated the process of killing Carl.

Qin Yan’s eyes turned blood red, her chest heaved violently. The look in her eyes towards Allen could no longer be described as murderous, "Allen, he was your father." Those few words were tinged with deep-seated hatred and regret. Why had she saved him in the first place?

The rest of the people present, except for Shen Qinglan and Fu Hengyi, couldn’t help but shudder after hearing Allen’s words. What kind of person was this, able to treat his own father in such a way?

"He was my father, but he killed my mother with his own hands. Qin Yan, Carl meeting this end is your great contribution. If it weren’t for you, my mother wouldn’t have been heartbroken and desperate, wouldn’t have done something foolish, and wouldn’t have died. You were once so proud, now I want you to feel that much pain. How does it feel? After painstakingly seeking revenge for so many years, and just as you are about to succeed, you find you’ve been avenging yourself on the wrong person. Does it taste good?" Allen smiled warmly, softening the features that made him look surprisingly like the deceased Carl.

But Qin Yan became even more hysterical, "Allen, I’m going to kill you." She screamed, snatching the gun from the housekeeper’s hand.

Bang, the sound of a gunshot rang out.
