Little Douding’s face showed some hesitation, and he carefully asked, "Uncle Jiang, will you ignore me in the future?"
Jiang Chenxi looked at him, "Why do you ask?"
"Mommy said that Uncle Jiang will marry another pretty auntie in the future, and you’ll have your own baby, so you won’t be able to play with me often or come to see me anymore."
Jiang Chenxi smiled slightly, "That won’t happen. Uncle Jiang won’t marry someone else, and I will grow up with Haohao."
Upon hearing this, Little Douding finally brightened up, beaming with happiness.

Shen Qinglan had just opened her eyes in the morning when she realized something was off, feeling the warmth at her lower abdomen, she spoke in an exasperated tone, gritting her teeth, "Fu Hengyi."
Fu Hengyi had an innocent look on his face, "Wife, it’s hungry, and that has nothing to do with me. I can’t control it."
Shen Qinglan felt her still sore wrist and deeply regretted her soft-heartedness from the night before. The man beside her was like an unfillable pack of hungry wolves.
Fu Hengyi grabbed Shen Qinglan’s hand, and she immediately looked at him defensively, "Fu Hengyi, my hand still hurts."
Fu Hengyi chuckled, "What’s this? I just wanted to massage your wrist."
Relieved, Shen Qinglan peacefully and rightfully enjoyed Mr. Fu’s service.
Today, Shen Qinglan was set to have a pregnancy check-up, so Fu Hengyi did not plan on teasing her. Seeing that it was about time, they got up for breakfast.
Old Sir Fu had already finished eating and was sitting in the living room reading the newspaper.
"Good morning, Grandpa," Shen Qinglan and Fu Hengyi greeted.
Old Sir Fu laughed heartily, "Good morning. Go and have your breakfast quickly."
Aunt Zhao interjected, "Qinglan has to have a check-up today, so it’s best if she fasts. I’ve prepared something for her to eat later, after the check-up is over."
Old Sir Fu truly didn’t know about this, "Then you should hurry for the check-up first and eat afterward. Don’t starve yourself."
"Grandpa, no rush, Fu Hengyi hasn’t eaten yet," said Shen Qinglan.
Old Sir Fu waved his hand dismissively, "He’s a grown man. Skipping one meal won’t hurt him."
Shen Qinglan looked at Fu Hengyi with a mockingly amused look, You’re not Grandpa’s biological child, are you?
Fu Hengyi was already accustomed to Grandpa’s partiality and remained unfazed, as if to say, You’re the one Grandpa really cherishes.
To let Shen Qinglan have her breakfast earlier, Fu Hengyi left with her and Aunt Zhao without even eating, but there was another Auntie at home, so there wasn’t any concern about Old Sir Fu going without lunch.
The hospital was crowded in the morning, but they had already made an appointment in advance. Upon arriving at the hospital, they didn’t need to queue and immediately started the check-up procedures.
"Look, this is your baby," the doctor pointed to a small black dot on the screen and said to Shen Qinglan.
Shen Qinglan gazed at the screen, her eyes tender, "Doctor, is the child developing well?"
"Very well, extremely healthy."
Hearing this, Shen Qinglan finally felt relieved.
"However, you are a bit underweight. You need to eat more nutritious food."
Shen Qinglan sat up, cleaning the gel off her belly, and straightened her clothes, "Doctor, I eat quite a lot, but I just don’t gain weight."
"Then you should eat smaller portions more frequently, ensuring the baby gets all the necessary nutrients. There are no major issues otherwise. I’ll prescribe some folic acid for you. Also, remember to stay active. You can do some prenatal yoga, which will help during your delivery."
The doctor went on with a few other precautions, Shen Qinglan listened intently and took it all to heart. After all the check-ups were done, Shen Qinglan walked out of the doctor’s office to see Fu Hengyi waiting outside.
"How is it?" Fu Hengyi approached her.
"The doctor said the baby is very good and healthy."
"That’s great."
"Let’s go," said Shen Qinglan.
Fu Hengyi paused, "Wait for a second. I have something to ask the doctor. I’ll be out soon." With that, he went into the doctor’s office.
Aunt Zhao still had breakfast in her hands, "Qinglan, sit down and have your breakfast first."
Shen Qinglan shook her head; she was so hungry that she had lost her appetite, especially in the hospital, "Aunt Zhao, let’s eat in the car later."
"That works."
Fu Hengyi came out quickly, and Shen Qinglan, seeing the smile between his brows, couldn’t help but ask curiously, "What did you ask the doctor?"
Fu Hengyi chuckled, "I’m not telling you."
Qinglan glanced at him sideways, judgy much.
In the afternoon, Qinglan and Fu Hengyi still went to the art exhibition. Qinglan first went to the studio to find Daniel, while Fu Hengyi strolled around the exhibition hall alone, admiring his wife’s works, especially lingering on the rural ones for a while.
"Mr. Fu, I didn’t expect to bump into you here, what a coincidence," Catherine said in surprise. Indeed, she was pleasantly surprised; she had been in Beijing for a while but had been unable to get in touch with Fu Hengyi. She had called Qinglan to ask her out for a meal, thinking this might give her a chance to see Fu Hengyi, but Qinglan never agreed.
Knowing it was Qinglan’s exhibition, there was a good chance Fu Hengyi would come, so Catherine had been there since the first day of the exhibition, wandering around every day without ever running into Fu Hengyi. Just as she was growing disappointed, Fu Hengyi really did show up, how could she not be thrilled.
Fu Hengyi’s expression was indifferent, and he did not greet Catherine upon seeing her.
Catherine looked embarrassed, "Mr. Fu, don’t you remember me? I’m Miss Shen’s friend, Catherine."
Fu Hengyi certainly remembered this woman, but he didn’t have any good feelings toward her, so he didn’t react.
"Hello." Fu Hengyi finally deigned to speak, letting Catherine breathe a sigh of relief. With a slight smile, she said, "Mr. Fu, did you come alone?"
"No, I came with my wife."
Hearing this, a flash of jealousy passed through Catherine’s eyes, and her gaze fell on Fu Hengyi’s face, bold and forthright, "I haven’t seen Mr. Fu and Miss Shen for a long time. I specifically came over for Miss Shen’s exhibition. I wonder if I might have the honor to invite you both to a meal later?"
"No need, we have to go home afterwards to have dinner with the family’s old sir, so let’s not have Lady Catherine go to the trouble." Fu Hengyi directly refused.
Catherine was quite disappointed. She was just about to continue persuading when Qinglan and Daniel came over. A hint of a smile appeared in the depths of Fu Hengyi’s eyes. Catherine, with her back to them, didn’t see it and thought Fu Hengyi’s change of expression was due to her. Delighted, she thought no man could resist her charm and was about to step forward to close the distance when she saw Fu Hengyi stride past her.
Catherine stood frozen in place and turned to indeed see Qinglan.
Fu Hengyi walked up to Qinglan, helped her adjust her scarf, and spoke softly, "Shall we go?"
"We can go."
"Miss Shen, long time no see, I finally get to see you," Catherine said with a smile.
Qinglan only then noticed her, her expression cool, "Lady Catherine seems to really like Z Country."
Catherine boldly admitted, "Yes, I like Beijing very much, as well as the people here." Saying this, her eyes flicked towards Fu Hengyi.
Qinglan’s gaze turned slightly frosty; was this woman openly flirting with her husband right in front of her, as if she didn’t exist?
But before she could speak, Fu Hengyi put his arm around her waist and said, "Then I wish Lady Catherine a pleasant time in Beijing. We have things to do, so we’ll be leaving first."
With that, he walked away briskly with Qinglan, without leaving as much as a glance for Catherine.
Catherine clenched her teeth, while Daniel had a full-faced smile, waving his hand, "Lady Catherine, have a good time."
Daniel was grinning ear to ear, evidently very pleased, which made Catherine grind her teeth in irritation.
She looked at the empty entrance of the exhibition hall, a look of determination on her face, convinced there wasn’t anything she, Catherine, couldn’t get. Men included.
In the car, Qinglan looked at Fu Hengyi with a hint of mischief, touching her chin, "May I ask, Mr. Fu Hengyi, what does it feel like to be adored by a beautiful woman?"
Fu Hengyi looked at her helplessly, "If this beautiful woman isn’t you, the feeling is quite unpleasant."
Miss Shen expressed satisfaction with Mr. Fu’s response, nodding, "Mr. Fu, you have good taste."
Fu Hengyi smiled slightly, "Naturally."
As the couple was joking around, Qinglan’s phone rang. It was Jin Enxi calling. Qinglan glanced at Fu Hengyi, who was driving, and without any hesitation picked up the call, "Enxi."
"An, I’ve already found the man called Shi Jiangtao that Lin Hao mentioned, but strangely enough, this man disappeared a few days ago, right after Lin Hao was locked up. No matter how I search, I can’t find any trace of him, and I suspect he was silenced."
Qinglan’s eyes darkened slightly, "Can you find out who’s behind him?"
"Though there’s no evidence, I suspect that it’s Mrs. Jin behind him."
"Mrs. Jin." Qinglan mulled over this name. It wasn’t the first time she heard this name. The person behind Xu Nuo was Mrs. Jin, and the person behind this man was also Mrs. Jin. Qinglan had reason to suspect that the person targeting her was this Mrs. Jin, but why?
"An, I can’t ascertain Mrs. Jin’s identity for now. You need to be careful in your actions. Mrs. Jin is tougher to deal with than we thought, and those in the underworld who know her say she’s ruthless."
"Okay, I got it. But you should also be careful. If it’s hard to find her, don’t force it. Since Mrs. Jin is targeting me, she will surely show up again, and we can wait for our opportunity."
After hanging up, Fu Hengyi looked at her, his eyes serious, "Who is this Mrs. Jin?"
Qinglan recounted the recent events and her suspicions, but did not mention how she had used herself as bait to provoke Lin Hao into action.
"I haven’t heard of Mrs. Jin’s name before, but according to you, Mrs. Jin seems to have some reputation in the underworld; it shouldn’t be that no one knows her true face." Fu Hengyi was also puzzled by this.
Qinglan felt the same, but the fact was, indeed nobody in the underworld had seen Mrs. Jin’s face.
