Chapter 146 Little Drunkard (Part 4)
Chapter 146: 146 Little Drunkard (Part 4)
Yu Xiaoxuan was woken up by thirst in the middle of the night. When she got up to drink some water, she realized this wasn’t her own home, nor was it the accomodation provided by her company. A sudden shock hit her, turning her face pale, she quickly checked her clothes and found that aside from her coat, everything else was still neatly on her. She breathed a sigh of relief and boldly stepped out.
The living room was pitch-dark. Yu Xiaoxuan’s hand felt along the wall until she found something resembling a switch and pressed it down, instantly illuminating the room.
Yu Xiaoxuan instinctively closed her eyes and when she opened them, she was momentarily blinded by the sight before her: dark coffee-colored vintage wallpaper with subtle patterns, a massive crystal chandelier, leather sofas, and a wool carpet spread out on the floor in front of the sofa... everything subtly conveyed the low-key luxury of the house.
She took a deep breath; the owner of this house really knew how to enjoy life. Her gaze swept over a photo placed on the cabinet, paused, and upon recognizing who was in it, she had an epiphany. This was that dead enchantress’s home, ah, that made sense. That dead enchantress was indeed a hedonist.
Upon realizing the owner of the house was Han Yi, Yu Xiaoxuan’s heart completely settled down. She likely had fallen asleep in the car, and since Han Yi didn’t know where she lived, that’s why he brought her here. She didn’t know where Han Yi had gone, the whole house was eerily quiet as if she was the only one around. She guessed Han Yi was probably in some delightful haven at the moment.
The kitchen was an open layout with a bar that housed a variety of glasses. Yu Xiaoxuan glanced at them and thought they looked quite nice, although it was a pity she didn’t know much about glasses. She poured herself a glass of water and gulped it down, not enough, she took another, finally satisfying herself as she put the glass down.
Yu Xiaoxuan had just slept and wasn’t sleepy. She curiously wandered around the living room and then, her eyes lit up, fixating on a massive wine cabinet that was taller than her and filled with numerous bottles of wine.
Yu Xiaoxuan walked over and took a closer look. There were many types of liquor—wine, beer, spirits, baijiu—you name it, and all of them were fine quality without exception.
Her gaze was drawn to the top shelf of the wine cabinet where a bottle of wine caught her attention. She stood on her tiptoes, reaching for it, but her height was a disadvantage. She tried jumping but it was no use. Looking around, she suddenly spotted a small stool in the corner that completely clashed with the rest of the decor.
She ran over, grabbed the stool—perfect, just the right height.
She took down the bottle of wine and carefully inspected it. The text on it... heh, they knew her, but she didn’t know them.
The bottle opener was right in one of the compartments of the wine cabinet. Yu Xiaoxuan opened the bottle, went over to the bar, and grabbed an elegant wine glass. The wine poured slowly into the glass and Yu Xiaoxuan picked it up, gave it a swirl, and sniffed it—hmm, it smelled delightful.
Yu Xiaoxuan, with her wine and glass in hand, sat on the sofa, grabbed the remote, and turned on the TV, casually selecting an idol drama she had seen before.
The drama was from a year ago, a tragedy, and she had cried a river when she first watched it. Now, watching it again, she still found it very engaging.
As she watched the TV, sipping her wine from time to time, Yu Xiaoxuan felt these were the most comfortable moments she had experienced in a long time.
Han Yi woke up in the night to use the bathroom, and the faint noises from the living room instantly cleared the grogginess from his mind. Could there be a thief in his home? The light seeping through the door crack indicated that the living room was bright. The thieves nowadays were really bold—breaking in and lighting up the place as if they owned it.
Han Yi got up and searched his room for a weapon, but found nothing handy. After a moment’s thought, he picked up his slipper—it would have to do as a weapon.
He quietly opened the door, and then the sounds from the TV became clearer. Han Yi paused, suddenly remembering something, his face darkened. He put down his slipper and walked over.
Indeed, it was that brat Yu Xiao Xuan.
"Not sleeping in the middle of the night, what on earth are you up to?" Han Yi shouted at Yu Xiaoxuan.
Yu Xiaoxuan lifted her head and saw Han Yi, she smiled, "Oh, demon, it’s you."
Tears covered her face, and beneath her nose hung two suspicious things. Han Yi’s face was full of disdain, but his hand still pulled out two tissues and handed them to Yu Xiaoxuan.
"What are you crying about in the middle of the night, it’s disgusting."
Yu Xiaoxuan didn’t take it, instead, her tears flowed even more fiercely, "He died," she pointed at the TV, "He died saving the heroine, but the heroine doesn’t know he’s dead, still thinking he betrayed her. To take revenge, she married someone else. How can there be such a devoted man in the world – why haven’t I met such a man?"
Han Yi followed the direction of her finger and looked, his face darkening. Such idol dramas might deceive young girls, but you’re so grown up, and you still cry over such a plot?
As she spoke, she seemed to grow sadder, Yu Xiaoxuan belched, then picked up her glass and took another sip.
Only then Han Yi noticed the wine in her hand, his eyes widened, and when he clearly saw the wine bottle carelessly placed on the couch, his face had already turned ashen.
"Yu Xiaoxuan, you... you..." He pointed at her, too agitated to speak.
Yu Xiaoxuan was still immersed in the TV drama’s plot, completely oblivious to the volcano about to erupt beside her.
Han Yi picked up the almost empty wine bottle, nearly crying out of heartache, it was a treasure he had just spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to bid for from overseas a few days ago. He had just acquired it today, not even having warmed it yet, and Yu Xiaoxuan had ruined it, leaving not a drop.
In this moment, Han Yi could have eaten Yu Xiaoxuan’s heart out. He had a penchant for collecting fine wines, and though this bottle was not the most precious in his collection, it was certainly the one he had owned for the shortest time.
"Yu Xiaoxuan." Han Yi’s voice was ominously deep, a prelude to an impending storm.
Yu Xiaoxuan looked up, glanced at him, and shook her head, "Demon, stop shaking, you’re making my head spin."
She was quite unhappy.
Han Yi’s peach blossom eyes were filled with frost, but his mouth wore a gentle smile. He slowly lowered his head, then stopped a fist’s distance away from Yu Xiaoxuan, his voice gentle, "Yu Xiaoxuan, you’ve drunk my wine, what should you do to compensate me?"
Yu Xiaoxuan only felt the world spinning, hardly able to hear what Han Yi was saying, just staring at the magnified handsome face before her, she squinted her eyes, reached out her hand and covered Han Yi’s eyes, "These eyes are really beautiful."
Her hand was warm, dry, and soft, carrying a hint of the aroma of wine. Han Yi was taken aback and ceased to move.
Yu Xiaoxuan then pinched Han Yi’s face, "Your skin is even better than mine, really." She pouted slightly.
Her hand went from the cheek to the lips, feeling good to the touch, she couldn’t help pressing them, and thought to herself, hmm, squishy, a sensation a bit like jelly. Yu Xiaoxuan thought and extended her tongue, gave it a lick, huh, not sweet?
