The Tycoon's Mysterious Darling Wife
Chapter 145. Don’t Regret (Third Watch)

Chapter 145: 145. Don’t Regret (Third Watch)

"Han Yi, don’t mess around; she is Lanlan’s good friend," Shen Junyu said.

Han Yi frowned, "Shen Junyu, what kind of person do you take me for? Do I look like someone who’s desperate?"

Shen Junyu sheepishly replied, "Alright, alright, you take her."

"No way," Yu Xiaoxuan clung to Shen Junyu’s arm, "I don’t want that ghoul driving me; god of men, I want you to take me."

Han Yi grabbed Yu Xiaoxuan’s arm, ignoring her struggle, stuffed her into his car, slammed the door shut, and zoomed off.

Shen Junyu chuckled, then remembered that Gu Yang and Gu Kai were still in the private room. He quickly made calls to them before driving home.

"You undead demon, open the car door for me!" Yu Xiaoxuan, thrown into the backseat, was wrestling with the door, shouting at Han Yi.

Han Yi had a stern look, ignoring her shouts. After driving for a while, he realized he had no idea where Yu Xiaoxuan lived; his earlier statement was just a random excuse. Looking into the rearview mirror, he asked, "Yu Xiaoxuan, where do you live?"

Unable to open the door and affected by the alcohol, Yu Xiaoxuan felt dizzy and sat in the back, hugging her arms. Hearing Han Yi’s question, she snorted coldly and remained silent.

"I’m asking you, where do you live."

Yu Xiaoxuan casually responded, "You knew my address, why ask me now? I won’t tell you."

Han Yi, infuriated yet finding it laughable, said, "Believe it or not, I’ll throw you out."

"If you have the guts, throw me out, you undead ghoul."

The car screeched to a sudden halt, and Yu Xiaoxuan, caught off guard, slammed her head into the back of the front seat painfully, making her yelp.

Han Yi hit the central lock, "Get out."

Yu Xiaoxuan lifted her head, "You undead ghoul, can’t even drive properly," she snorted coldly and got out of the car. Just as she slammed the door, the car sped away.

Yu Xiaoxuan pouted and was about to hail a taxi when she suddenly realized her bag was still in Han Yi’s car. "You undead demon, bastard, come back!"

But on the quiet street, Han Yi’s figure had already disappeared, and Yu Xiaoxuan stomped her foot in frustration.

"Jerk, don’t let me see you next time, or I’ll definitely bite you to death."

Without her wallet or phone and still feeling dizzy, Yu Xiaoxuan felt even more helpless than a poor little cabbage. The cold wind sobered her up a bit; she shook her head and started walking along the road. After a few steps, she felt discomfort from her high heels, took them off, and carried them in her hand.

Han Yi drove with a gloomy expression, irritated every time he thought of Yu Xiaoxuan, that ungrateful girl who liked to bite people randomly.

While waiting for a traffic light, he glanced back by chance and noticed that Yu Xiaoxuan’s bag was still in the car. His face darkened further, and he cursed under his breath before making a U-turn at the next corner.

When Han Yi found Yu Xiaoxuan, she was sitting by the roadside, leaning against a large tree, her eyes closed, not sure if she was asleep. Her high heels were off and tossed to the side, her bare feet dusty.

Han Yi silently chuckled, got out of the car, and nudged Yu Xiaoxuan with his foot, "Hey, wake up."

Yu Xiaoxuan wasn’t really asleep; she was just tired from walking and feeling dizzy, so she decided to sit down and rest properly. Startled by Han Yi’s kick, she opened her eyes.

When Yu Xiaoxuan saw who was in front of her, a fierce light flashed in her eyes, and she abruptly stood up, lunging towards Han Yi. Fearing she would fall, Han Yi quickly reached out to catch her, then couldn’t help but let out a cry of pain, "Crazy girl, let go."

After pouncing into his arms, Yu Xiaoxuan bit down hard on his neck, with enough force that Han Yi was sure it had drawn blood.

Crazy girl, are you a dog or something, biting anyone you see.

Having had her fill of biting, Yu Xiaoxuan finally let go, smugly watching Han Yi cover his wound and gasp, "Hmph, that’s for leaving me behind, see if I don’t bite you to death."

Han Yi laughed, his peach blossom eyes ominously dark, and Yu Xiaoxuan couldn’t help but cross her arms and take a step back, warily eyeing him, "What are you planning to do, I’m telling you, I can scream harassment, you know."

His smile grew more bewitching, and Yu Xiaoxuan faltered, "Go ahead and scream, let others judge, between the two of us, who is harassing who."

Yu Xiaoxuan pouted, having good looks doesn’t make you great, you seductive freak.

"Get in the car," Han Yi declared, leaving with a swirl of his sleeves.

Yu Xiaoxuan paused to think for a moment, then followed, picking up her high heels along the way.

"Address," Han Yi said succinctly, the atmosphere in the car tensely low.

"Idle talk... I forgot," Yu Xiaoxuan innocently looked at him.

Han Yi scoffed coldly, "You forgot? Why don’t you go ahead and forget about yourself too. Hurry up, or I’ll leave you behind."

Yu Xiaoxuan continued to look at him innocently, "I really forgot." But a sly glint crossed her eyes, aren’t you the one who said you knew where I live, well, I’m not telling you, let’s see what you’ll do.

But she forgot, there’s a saying called "extreme joy begets sorrow," another called "reap what you sow."

Han Yi watched her for a long time, then laughed, his peach blossom eyes twinkling, "Alright, don’t regret it."

You’re the one who’ll regret. Yu Xiaoxuan thought to herself, then she waited for Han Yi to ask her again; just one more time, and she would tell him, just once.

But after waiting and waiting, Han Yi never asked her again. Yu Xiaoxuan grew tired of waiting and leaned against the car window, falling asleep, oblivious to where Han Yi was driving.

When the car stopped, Yu Xiaoxuan was still asleep. Han Yi looked at her through the rearview mirror, noting how quietly she slept, her cheeks red perhaps from heat or sleep, looking adorably pink and mushy, with her mouth slightly open.

Han Yi’s gaze involuntarily fell on her face, and he murmured softly, "Still, she looks cuter when she’s asleep."

Opening the door to the backseat, he initially intended to wake her, but then thought better of it and bent down to lift her out of the car. Throughout this process, Yu Xiaoxuan did not wake up.

Han Yi was astounded at her low vigilance; she could be sold off one day and still be none the wiser.

Carrying her up the stairs, he struggled to press the sixteenth floor button. Upon finally opening the door, Han Yi laid her on the guest room bed, releasing a long breath; she looked slim but was surprisingly heavy.

Wiping the sweat from his forehead, Han Yi helped Yu Xiaoxuan remove her jacket, pulled over the blanket to cover her, then headed to the master bedroom to take a shower.

This was his apartment in the city center, seldom used but regularly cleaned. Close to the Han Group headquarters, he would occasionally come here to sleep when overtime left him exhausted.

After his shower, he checked on the guest room again and found Yu Xiaoxuan still soundly asleep, though she had kicked the blanket off the bed. He couldn’t help but smile, resignedly picked it up, and draped it over her once more.
