The Tycoon’s Enchanted Mermaid -
Chapter 193: Let Me Hold You As You Sleep
Chapter 193: Chapter 193: Let Me Hold You As You Sleep
The night was tranquil, and the stars shone brilliantly, with only a few dim lights visible through the floor-to-ceiling windows faintly outlining the vast sea.
Ah Da, having changed into her nightgown, stepped out of the bathroom and saw Qin Yu lying on the bed, absorbed in something on his phone. It was, after all, her first real time sharing a bed with someone, and while her heart wasn’t resistant, it was somewhat nervous and uneasy.
Qin Yu had noticed her the moment she appeared and had been waiting for her to come over, but she stood immobile by the door, seemingly ready to keep standing there.
Putting down his phone, Qin Yu waved her over, "Come here."
Ah Da clutched a corner of her skirt, a trace of hesitation in her eyes. She lowered her head and after a moment’s pause, walked forward determinedly as if to prove she was fearless. She didn’t give Qin Yu her hand but instead climbed into bed on her own.
She pulled the blanket up to her mouth, exposing only her large, glassy eyes that seemed to shimmer like water, "Turn off the lights, I want to sleep."
Her voice was soft, always carrying a tender tone, and slightly unclear in articulation, yet seductively enticing, just like her tender and delicate appearance that seemed so easy to bully, or rather, made one want to bully.
Qin Yu propped himself on his elbow on the pillow, leaning in close to her, his cool, magnetic voice carrying an unclear meaning, "Not so fast, there’s still something that hasn’t been done."
Ah Da’s heart fluttered, feeling somewhat uneasy, she whispered, "What is it?"
Qin Yu’s fingers grazed the fluffy, loose hair on her forehead, trailing down her cheek, his voice low and smooth, much like a night-sea demon skillfully tempting a maiden ashore.
"Ever heard of a goodnight kiss?"
Ah Da paused, looking into his eyes, sincerely asked, "Are you suggesting that you want me to kiss you?"
Qin Yu’s dark eyes suddenly darkened, a dangerous gleam swirling within, his gaze unconsciously falling on her lips, delicate and moist like jelly adorned with petals, moving slightly as she spoke, revealing a hint of pink within her teeth.
Her eyes were clear, her nose petite, and her small palm-sized face had fine skin, reminiscent of fine mutton-fat jade, possibly due to her recent face wash in the bathroom, appearing exceptionally translucent and flushed, exuding an enchanting sweet fragrance.
A storm brewed in Qin Yu’s eyes, his hand pressing on the pure black pillow, his long fingers slightly curled.
"May I?" he asked.
Ah Da’s pupils trembled slightly, her fingers involuntarily tightening around the bedclothes. After a few seconds’ hesitation, she ultimately succumbed to her heart, raising her upper body to kiss the corner of his mouth.
It was only Qin Yu’s good looks to blame, as she found herself joyously captivated by him, never tiring of looking at him.
No matter what he did or what expression he wore, he looked wonderful, probably the reason she forgave him each time he bullied her. She was dazzled by his beauty, and though Ah Da regretted it, she would fall into the trap again.
Time and again.
The moment her soft lips touched him, Qin Yu’s mind stirred, about to reciprocate, but the young girl quickly withdrew like a turtle into her shell, her hands tightly clutching the edge of the blanket, covering most of her face.
"Is this enough?"
Tasting but never indulging, Qin Yu was unsatisfied, reaching to pull at her hand, "Too perfunctory, that doesn’t count as a goodnight kiss."
Ah Da clung to the blanket, refusing to let go, "You’re lying, the goodnight kisses on TV are just a peck, how is that not enough?"
"I say it’s not enough, and it’s not enough. On this isolated island, in this room, it’s just you and me, and regret is too late now, what do you say?" Qin Yu grabbed her wrist, pressing it above her head while slowly lowering his head, his voice deliberately intimidating, "You... I knew you were up to no good!"
Seeing him leaning in, Ah Da immediately kicked at him and began to act up, whining, "No, I’m exhausted, I’m dying of sleepiness. If you’re not going to sleep, get out, fuck off, Qin Yu."
Qin Yu let her curse him out, her swearing truly lacking any harm, her vocabulary limited, repetitively cycling through the same phrases. It was less of cursing and more like coquettishly complaining.
But fortunately, this time she didn’t bring up breaking up, it seems she remembered the lesson from last time.
Qin Yu delved into the blanket and lifted the person up to turn her over so she was lying on his chest. He hugged her waist, giving her buttock a light pat as a warning, "Don’t move, let me hold you for a while."
Ah Da’s face flushed red; her usually clear and bright glassy eyes had also taken on a shade of deep emotion because of her earlier anger. Since she had been speaking so intensely, her mouth felt dry, and unable to get up, she could only punch the person restraining her.
Her words came out weakly.
"I’m thirsty and want water. Either let me go or get me water. Hurry up!"
Qin Yu, holding the soft and fragrant person in his arms, felt a head-to-toe pleasure. Before meeting her, he never knew a person could melt into such softness, like water, like cotton, making it impossible to let go.
Previously, while training abroad, the contests between men were fierce, with fists meeting flesh, the splashing sweat and surging hormones briefly provided him happiness.
But compared to this moment, that was nothing.
Seeing him not moving, Ah Da looked up at him and saw him with his eyes closed, which infuriated her even more. She immediately reached out to grab his face, pinching and pulling it to the sides.
She said emphatically.
"I want water, didn’t you hear me? Do you want me to die of thirst?"
Qin Yu knew that the person in his arms was about to make a drastic move, sighed helplessly, squeezed the back of her neck, gently kissed her forehead, then rolled over and laid her flat on the bed.
"Wait here."
Ah Da snorted coquettishly, leaning against the pillow, and pulled up the blanket as she watched Qin Yu walking towards the kitchenette.
He was tall and broad-shouldered, his long legs giving him a distinct charm even in simple pajamas, making her unable to look away.
When Qin Yu returned with a cup of plain water and sat on the edge of the bed, Ah Da sat up and reached for it, but Qin Yu wouldn’t let her have it.
He held the cup to her lips, clearly intending to feed her. Although she didn’t know why he was doing this, Ah Da was too thirsty to care and drank it down willingly—since he was so inclined to do it for her, she didn’t mind staying still.
The long glass was emptied in one go—probably because she had too much grilled seafood that evening.
"Want more?"
Ah Da shook her head, "No, thanks."
After speaking, she turned, pulled back the blanket, and lay down, waiting for Qin Yu to put away the cup before speaking as she rubbed her eyes:
"I’m so sleepy, let’s go to sleep soon."
Qin Yu lay next to her, observing the little girl who had nearly buried herself inside the blanket, pretending so well to be sound asleep, not moving, closing her eyes as if she were really sleeping.
Is she that afraid of him?
Qin Yu watched her deeply and turned off the light, pulling the blanket over as he lay down.
Ah Da was pretending to be asleep but remained alert to every move Qin Yu made, feeling the mattress dip beside her, her tension slowly easing. She was somewhat afraid of his sudden unpredictability.
After all, Qin Yu was different now—he had become increasingly strange, kissing her more frequently.
Lost in her thoughts, a hand suddenly appeared around her waist, pulling her close, and Qin Yu’s unique scent of cold wood enveloped her.
He held her from behind, whispering in her ear. "Let me hold you while we sleep. Is that okay?"
