Luo Qi really felt she was getting old, her heart full of holes, yet she didn’t show it on the surface, because she didn’t want to be overly sentimental.

"I’m a whole generation older than them, how can I not feel old?" Luo Qi said with a laugh.

"Not old, you’re in the prime of life. What old age are you talking about?"

The two strolled around the residential complex and then returned, seeing that it was still early, Lin Yan decided to keep Luo Qi company for a while longer.

Luo Qi also feared that being alone would lead her to overthink, so she agreed.

In the living room’s west side, there was a balcony, where Luo Qi and Lin Yan were each busy with their laptops.

Luo Qi was editing a design diagram, while Lin Yan was reading a medical journal.

For a while, the only noise in the living room was the sound of mouse clicks, with Lin Yan occasionally glancing at Luo Qi from the corner of his eye.

After watching for an hour, Lin Yan said, "Let’s take a break, how about I make tea for you?"

Luo Qi was surprised, "You know how to make tea?"

"Of course. I used to make it for myself when I had nothing to do. This is my first time making it for a girl."

"So I should feel honored?"

Lin Yan’s lips bore a faint and charming smile: "You can think of it that way if you wish."

"I’ll only feel honored if it’s well-made. If it’s not, then I’m just giving you face," Luo Qi wasn’t convinced.

"Then you’ll have to taste it carefully later."

Lin Yan went next door to fetch the family’s tea set, and Luo Qi placed her laptop on the sofa, also clearing away the snacks from the coffee table.

Then she took two chairs over, sitting on one herself and offering the other to Lin Yan.

Cleaning the tea set, boiling water, adding tea leaves, filtering – Luo Qi found Lin Yan’s movements fluid. Coupled with his good looks, this whole setup gave her a feeling of watching a performance.

"Did you learn this in your free time?" She gauged the skilled movements must have taken a long time to acquire.

"My dad likes it a lot, so I picked it up from him when I was young," Lin Yan handed her a cup of tea, "Wanna try?"

Luo Qi took a sip and honestly, she didn’t understand tea, nor discern what was tasty or not.

But this wasn’t bad, so it was probably good?

"It’s quite tasty," she concluded.

"Is it?" Lin Yan’s smile deepened as he poured her another cup, "Then have some more."

Suddenly, the sound of fireworks came from outside. Luo Qi turned around and ran to the balcony after seeing the grand view.

Large blooms of fireworks filled the sky, and Luo Qi couldn’t help but express her amazement at the spectacle.

"So beautiful."

But what was the occasion today? Why was someone setting off fireworks? And so many at that.

And fireworks are allowed here?

"Do you like it?" Lin Yan stood next to her.

"Of course, there’s no girl who wouldn’t," she replied.

"Then should I set them off for you when I propose?"

Lin Yan’s voice was light, yet what he implied was significant. Luo Qi doubted her ears and turned to him, "What did you say?"

Lin Yan didn’t answer her; instead, he bowed his head and kissed the lips he had longed for day and night.

Luo Qi’s initial reaction was to widen her eyes in shock, but then she closed her eyes. It was like a message that filled Lin Yan with ecstasy, prompting him to wrap his arms around her.

Later on, Luo Qi learned to slowly respond to him.

Once the kiss was over, both were slightly breathless.

Lin Yan’s hand remained firmly in place, not wandering, as he tightly hugged Luo Qi and looked into the distance.

He was afraid that his intense emotions might scare her away.

He had never been fond of anyone his whole life, nor had he ever wanted something so much. But Luo Qi was both the one he liked and the one he wanted to have.
